That's th point with the 1212L - it seems louder as the tone is very clear. My band all moaned that I must be too loud now as they could hear me much more clearly on stage. I was down on the dance floor checking the sound balance, though, and it was all about clarity and audibility, not volume as such.
Some people complain about the "mid-hump" like it's a bad thing! I just say it's more "poky"

Mine (1212r) holds up very well with a loud drummer. Our guitarist uses an all valve combo which is very loud. Last night i had gremlins so ended up switching to just the Schroeder with no PA support mid gig. Plenty loud enough! Very efficient little cab which is always heard

Wasn't pulling the string or playing particularly hard, just played a note and it went! It's a Hipshot bridge with no rough or sharp bits, i've done loads of gigs on that bass (it has been my main bass since i got it) so i'm inclined to think it's the string

I broke the G (45) on a set of HiBeams last night, only the second gig i'd done on them. I wasn't even playing that hard too, it broke around the bridge area. It's the first string i've broke on that bass so i don't think it's a problem with the bridge. Anyone else experienced weak HiBeams? Also would i be eligible for a replacement? It's been on the bass a week! They were from Strings Direct Cheers Steve

£60 postage? I sent a bass to Poland for £47!

I am now definitely selling/trading this. It's gorgeous, sounds awesome, plays beautifully. Basically i sholud like it much more than i do but i think i'm more a Warwick guy. I can't get away from the fact that i play a lot better on my Warwick than i do on this so it has to go i'm afraid. It's an Iceni Zoot Deluxe Custom, through neck is 7 piece maple and walnut seperated by ebony and maple stringers. 25 fret ebony fingerboard and a brass nut. Macassar ebony top and back with claro walnut core and maple veneers. Hipshot bridge and tuners with the D-Tuner on the E string. Schaller straplocks. Aero humbuckers with an Aguilar OPB 3 Pre (18v). It has an active/passive switch and a lo-pass filter switch (to cut the treble, instant dub on any setting) The only things i would mention is a bit of checking in the finish of the neck around the nut, purely cosmetic. It has also been a bit noisy stood close to my amp, something which i think could be easily sorted. Otherwise it is in fantastic condition and as you can see, looks the absolute tits. Comes in a Warwick Rockcase Flightcase. Used to belong to BCer Alanbass (think that was his name) who bought it from new. Would cost around £1700-£1800 if bought today going off the Zootbass website I am looking for a replacement as my main bass, a very nice Warwick would be preferred. I like thru necks, nice woods, the usual. My preferred models are Thumb, Infinity and maybe a Dolphin. Would also consider nice Corvettes plus maybe a bit of cash If i get no offers then no worries, i'm not in a mad rush to get rid of it. Cheers Steve

Aye i thought it was the Zoot shape like mine, the one shared by the Chaser, Performer et al. A quick look on the site and Mike has all their production basses under the Zoot banner including the Fendery one. The Boudica was just called the Iceni Boudica though i think Confusing stuff!
I've got everything they've released and a few more besides! First album is an acquired taste, but some of the best albums are "growers!" You clearly haven't heard The Uplift Mofo Party Plan!
Got all their albums, have RHCP and Uplift Mofo Party Plan on tape somewhere in the attic. I think Skinny Sweaty Man and Behind the Sun are the only ones i liked on TUMPP

http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=48893 EDIT as it's sold, but this is the sort of thing you should be looking at. Really good heads, try the Ashdowns and Peaveys too as they're really good bang for buck

Looks like he's stuck chewing gum to the body then held a lighter under the headstock. Oh dear... -

An old Jazz (in showroom condition) with a supposed history going for £21,000 He had bought all the parts in the last month or so, all clearly visible in his feedback I sent him a message explaining how hilarious it was! -

That first one actually looks like a good buy. Of course it's likely to be a dog but that's really cheap

You ever heard their first album? Utter tosh! Mothers Milk, BSSM and for me One Hot Minute are their best. One Hot Minute gets the vote purely for Aeroplane, Coffee Shop and Shallow be Thy Name, very underrated album Back OT, i'd like to thank the OP for reminding me what an ace band these guys are, dug their CDs out and gave em a good listen tonight. Used to cover Twisted many moons ago

Lesson no.4 in the Basschat Buyers' Guide: "4. If you have a problem with the price of an item on the forum, stating it in an aggressive way on the thread undermines the sellers listing. Often however feedback on fair pricing is useful and constructive. Bear this in mind and be considerate and vigilant. If anyone is seen being aggressive or SERIOUSLY overpricing an item them you are best off sending a PM to the member and to a moderator. The best policy is that if you do not like the price, move on. The seller won’t sell and you avoid any arguments. " Whether you agree or disagree with this guy's price (FWIW i have no problem with it) prob best to PM. I've had someone post on one of my for sale threads telling everyone what the item was worth (and they were pretty wide of the mark) so know how annoying it can be

Aye i used to cart a full stack about. The more PA gear we acquired the less bass gear i wanted to carry! I can carry my bass, amp, cab and lead bag in one go now

I'm only 27 but have done the same, mainly out of pure laziness!
