    I've seen this before on a few cheaper jazz copies (my jaco'd fretless is the same) but never thought i'd see it on a US fender! I always thought it was to save on finishing costs as it's a covered up area, but then i know absolutely zilch about spraying guitars so that's a complete guess! This is my bass, doesn't bother me either and i have the 'plate off all the time

    My corvette is the same, less output than a bass with a passive humbucker. Can second the aquilar option, tons of clean boost and very difficult to make it sound bad (even for me!). Loving that Infinette btw!

    Printed this off then realised i hadn't clicked the duplex option, so have this going to waste. It's the manual from the link on the website, a quick flick through reveals there's some stuff on the original LM too. I've bound it with plastic comb binding and put plastic covers on, so looks nice and won't get dirty! Posted free to anyone in the UK that needs it, just send me your address! Cheers Steve

    We've had similar problems with a venue round our area (Mains Hall if you're interested). The guy will tell the bride and groom that they can have a live band and take the money accordingly. Then when the PA keeps cutting out because of the sound meter (which is placed 15m in front of the stage) he tells them it's the bands fault and that he has live entertainment on all the time without any problems (despite every band that plays there encountering the same problems). I have been to a works do at the venue and the karaoke was triggering the sound meter, so how he expects to accomodate a live party band with a live drummer i don't know. Be very wary that the organiser/manager will try to pass the buck on to the band instead of admitting he allowed the happy couple to book a band knowing full well the venue is not suitable, for fear of losing the wedding to another venue. On both occasions the sound meter was turned off at the request of a very dissatisfied wedding party

The pickup has gone now, was just thinking that would be an amazing sounding bass with a tight low B for under £150!

They make the MIM fenders feel a bit cheap and lightweight. Sound pretty much the same too, i slightly preferred the sound of the squier over the £400 MIM jazz. I ended up getting this from thomann because hardly any shops in my area could get squier standards in and i couldn't find any in this colour in the country at the time of purchase. The antique burst one is also really nice!

    Ok i'll try get some on as soon as! We've had our practice room broken into so all our gear is at our singers house and some of mine is on sale at a guitar shop, should be able to get pics up by weekend. The OLP is black with matching headstock, black and grey tortie pickguard and maple fingerboard. The squier is exactly like the one here: [url="http://www.rockingrooster.co.uk/product_info.php?PID=359"]http://www.rockingrooster.co.uk/product_info.php?PID=359[/url] The OLP is used and the bridge has been replaced. For some reason there are only 2 screws holding the bridge down but it seems stable and would be easy to put another 2 in there. Think someone on here is selling a 5 string bartolini MM on the cheap so this is an ideal candidate for a pickup upgrade! At the moment you have to use the volumes to switch between humbucking and singlecoil modes but i was going to put a switch in it: [url="http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3413"]http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3413[/url] The squier is basically new, i bought it as a back up cos my warwick kept cutting out, then saw a warmoth jazz on ebay for £335 so the squier was redundant before it was even delivered! Still stuck bartolinis in it (for sale elsewhere on this site) but the stock ceramic magnet pickups were spot on anyways. The pickguard has slightly widened holes where these have been Think postage on both will be about £15 unless you can collect from Blackpool

    Set of bartolini jazz pickups, passive. Been in my squier and have done 2 or 3 gigs, bought new for over £100. Pretty certain they are 9Js, bright neck and deep bridge, although they're currently at my guitar shop as they're on sale there as well but if memory serves then that's what they are Sell for £60 Postage will be £5 (that's a guess) or buyer can collect in blackpool area

    Cheers i'll try it at a more neighbour friendly hour! Some research on the internet reveals that switching from speakon to jack output (or vice/versa) cures the problem, also switching output channels (something i've already had problems with). Cheers!

    Probably a common problem with these amps but has anybody else had unacceptable levels of hiss? It's not too bad with the treble turned down and pretty good on a passive bass but with even a smidgen of treble from my preamp (aguilar 18v) it dominates the sound. It's already been back to giggear twice, once for a dodgy output and the other because it kept cutting out. I haven't used it in ages because i don't really need it and don't trust it enough to gig with (in fact i don't trust it at all!), just a shame because it's a handy and cheap little amp. Apologies if this has been covered to death (links anyone? i'm new on here!), but could someone point me in the right direction? What are ashdown like for servicing these amps (for free like). Cheers guys

    Hi, just joined a couple of days ago, thought i'd say hi I'm Steve, a 26 year old bass player from the north west. I play semi professionally in a covers/party band, i can't over-emphasize the "semi" aspect of that though! I play a warwick, a warmoth fretless and a zoot through a hartke stack and an ashdown/hartke half stack but will soon be a schroeder man! Just thought i'd say that it's cool to find a decent u.k. forum instead of the usual u.s. ones, especially as you can look at the classifieds and actually buy the gear on there (maybe that's not such a good thing!)

The 1x15 is £165 on ebay and the chinese equivalent of the 4x10 £225 Don't forget the covers are around £35 each plus postage These are also for sale in a local guitar shop so think i might get more for em in there to be honest! Still, open to offers!
