1. Fender will take offence if they see it. Remember when Paul on here (the Robot Tshirt fella) had his Fullerton Tshirt pulled because it had the headstock design on?
 2.
If you were a nice guy you'd tell him to run an extension lead from upstairs...
Well seeing as he's currently using my good extension lead as a "temporary" solution to power his computer (and has been doing since he moved in)i think i'll let him cart the amp upstairs!
 3.
Probably not, kinda depends what is causing the click. It doesn't sound particularly devastating so I'd probably risk using it - it's certainly not going to damage you or your lodger. Something else has occured to me actually - have you tried taking it to the opposite floor you are using it on (i.e. if upstairs, take it downstairs and vice versa)? Sometimes things like fridges and central heating controls can put a juicy enough spike on the ring main to create a click... EDIT: If you scan/photograph the circuit diagram and post it then I might be able to narrow it down a bit further for you.
Ok cheers bud, thanks for the offer. It's been used in exactly the same spot for ages without any problems, we did change our fridge but it's been fine for as long as he's had it. I'll get him to try it upstairs, he hates moving it though as it's pretty heavy so it might be a while! Absolutely brilliant amp though, they go for about a ton and sound great. Stupidly loud too!
 4. I've emailed Yamaha for a circuit diagram and their opinion on it, their customer service has a really good reputation so hopefully they'll come up with the goods. Is it harmful to use the amp as it is?
 5.
Buy from a UK store.
That doesn't mean there won't be errors and poor customer service. Far from it IME
 6. Thomann have a no questions returns policy. Send the items back, get a refund and let them know about it. They're usually really good though, dunno why this is dragging out.
 7. Is that likely to be an expensive repair? Also will it damage the amp in any way? It used to be fine, he's only noticed it in the last day or so and has had the amp for a while.
 8.
I must be invisible then
Who said that?
 9. Yeah like a metronome. Should probably leave it really, he could do with it!
 10. Hi all I wonder if anyone could shed some light on a problem my lodger is having with his amp, a 70s Yamaha B212 combo. It's developed a "clicking" sound, more noticeable when treble is turned up, the rear pickup is selected or when hands aren't in contact with the strings/hardware. We've swapped leads and it still does it. Also plugged my bass in and it does it when the treble knob is anywhere but rolled off. The amp also has 2 seperate channels, each with seperate high and low inputs (making 4 total inputs) and it does it with all of them. Sound clip attached. What do we think?
 11. IIRC they did a similar thing with ther Ampeg copy. It was a plain old budget bass styled after a very distinctive and individual bass. The only thing it had in common with the original was the body shape. Also i seem to remember the price seeming way too high, don't know if they've come down since then though
 12.
Had a look around at the weekend for one of these but I'm guessing they're long gone. I saw one in our local SR Retro shop, but that was before I got back into playing bass and I ignored it after a quick glance. Bugger.
Well Tom up there /\ has some for sale in his sig.
 13. £46 + postage already with 13 bids. Shoulda bought all of them and parted them out!
 14.
I'd quite like to know how this all finished..as in whether more money was exchanged, but accept it isn't my business so if the OP doesn't want to say, that is fair enough. I don't use ebay so knowing how this works was interesting...what with 'evilbay' and all that ..
I assume the seller asked for £600 for it, dunno if that's the case. Original listing the OP won: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/trace-elliot-v6-all-...8#ht_500wt_1156 Relisted item: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/trace-elliot-v6-all-...8#ht_500wt_1156 Don't see why really, it sold for what people were willing to pay for it. That's the nature of eBay (and all auctions), sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Unless there's other mitigating circumstances the seller should have honoured the contract he agreed to in the first place.
 15. Pay via paypal now, then go collect your new amp! don't pay any extra, he's entered a contract to sell it for that price, if he's not happy with it then unlucky, perhaps he should have set a reserve. if he's an ebay noob then inform him of the rules. It's not his choice whether to sell or not, it's already sold.
 16.
I really miss seeing bands who look like this
Is the one 2nd from the right Eamonn Holmes?
 17.
.... but still, i wouldnt pay that much for an Aria
Why? They make some really good basses, by all accounts these models are extremely well made, play brilliantly and sound the nuts. People pay that sort of money for all the branded Corts (G&L, Lakland etc.) which are overseas basses with decals on.
 18. Yeah it's one of their upmarket models. Carol Kaye played an Aria like this and she invented music! EDIT: It's not the one i was thinking of
 19.
Its a sign of sad, sad times when a bass like this doesn't get a bid at £350.00, unbelievable
Too true. Not a common colour either, these models go for over £400 consistently so i don't know what happened with the auction, maybe take the free relist option? I'm sure it'll sell on here in time, you'll need to put a price up though bud, forum rules and all that.
 20.
That looks absolutely fab! I can hardly believe that's the same bass!!!
+1 I think it looks great, seems like you had fun doing it too! The fretboard looks really inviting, bet it plays nice.
 21.
From the same origin as the Peavey Zephyr/Grind ranges I'd say - I have a Zephyr C5 & the body/neck shape & laminations are pretty much identical, really only the headstock's different. Here's one - see what you think: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=63842 Age-wise it'll be 90s/early 00s and probably Korean-made. Jon.
That's what i thought it looked like, i think the OP's looks a bit nicer though and the sculpting around the body edges is a nice touch. I seem to remember the Peavey didn't have the rounded edges although i could be wrong.
 22. Nice tidy Jazz all the same, i'm liking the colour
 23. Nice looker, whoever made it. Looks like the fit and finish is quality too. Reminds me of an upmarket Peavey, although it isn't one.
 24. Like i said last time this was on here, it's about 4 times the size a tuner pedal needs to be and will take up valuable pedalboard space. Ashdown and their bloody gimmicks, grrrr!
 25.
Should've said, "Oh dear, I was told that it was a good sounding bass... Got anything that actually sounds good?"
"Have you got a bass that doesn't sound like someone's just dropped the jackpot on a fruit machine?"
