  1. North Birmingham me.
  2. I currently have a few options anyway. there's the Hondo, which I won't go above £350 for. I have sourced a shop up north with a Rockinbetter in the redburst colour in stock that an old friend will go in and buy for me if I want it. There's the Renegade in red that is in budget. The generic chickenbacker on FB I've been offered for pennies but will need some doing uppering. Theres an Indie IRK for sale on an auction site - comes in at the top of what I have to spend but they get a good write up. And finally, the Career Rik400s are all over the interwebs for just above my budget.
  3. It is also missing a string completely 😅 I thought no more than £350 as thats the sort of region Rockinbetters and Retrovibe Renegades go for. I do know that the Hondos do get a good write up though. In other news I've been offered one on Facebook that looks like a generic Chinese faker with a whole rework of the electrics needed.
  4. How did you guess?
  5. There is a certain old Japanese one on a well known auction site. If anyone knows their stuff can they PM me and help recommend me what it's worth?
  6. Hiya guys, Up for sale is my Ashdown Vintage 12 combo. See what Ashdown have to say about it: http://ashdownmusic.com/products/1/B/18/Legacy/114/AAA-Vintage-12-/ I see these are selling on ebay and such for around £150, but due to damage to the strap (rubber lining coming away from metal strap, still works fine), am selling for £75 collected from B36 Birmingham. Hit me up with any trade offers - looking for compressors and any cheapo or project basses you have. Now Withdrawn tah.
  7. Rocktile are a company I've seen mentioned a lot and they're going for back pocket shrapnel. Anyone have any experience. Oh and resurrecting the thread.
  8. It's basically 2 single coils fused together into a humbucker. It comes from the fender modern player jazz bass.
  9. Not much more to say. In good condition, Zoom B1on multi effects unit. £25 delivered to your door.
  10. Hi guys. Going through my drawers and I have a lot of stuff seeing no use now. Worth noting none of the pickups have screws, but these are easy to come by. 1. Tonerider Precision Pickup - I believe a TRPB-1. No Screws. GONE!!! 2. Set of Entwistle JBXN Jazz bass pickups. These get a great write up, and with good reason. They are tremendously loud, very nice Jazz pickups - GONE!!! 3. Fender JJ bridge pickup. This type of pickup was on the "modern player" series Jazz bass. SOLD!!! 4. Wilkinson Jazz bass pickup set. Came in a Harley Benton. Not bad for price. £10 delivered for the pair. 5. Dunlop Strap Locks - black. bought these for a bass that I moved on before installing these. Still in box, untouched - GONE!!! 6. Black Jazz bass pickguard. 3-ply black/white/black Northwest Guitars brand, never used. Takes 10 screws (not included) - GONE!!! 7. Fender US Active Preamp. Active Fender US Preamp for P/J or Jazz basses. Needs some love (new battery compartment needs to be fitted, new Output needs to be fitted). Because of the work needed, selling for £30 delivered. Comes attached to lovely tortoiseshell P-Bass pickguard.
  11. Seymour Duncan SCPB-2 bass pickup for sale. This is the "Hot" variant of the SD Single Coil pickup for 50s styley P Basses. See what GAK have to say: https://www.gak.co.uk/en/seymour-duncan-scpb-2-hot-for-single-coil-p-bass/31636?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIkvWArJWq2AIVRY0bCh0PTAHJEAkYASABEgI_qPD_BwE Loads of wire left on them, asking for £35 delivered to your door anywhere within Britainshire. Cheers.
  12. I had one just like that but sold it. Regret it a bit to be honest
  13. I have been offered an Xvive Bass Squeezer for relatively little money. I have had a look at some reviews and it seems ok, with a built-in drive circuit and very basic compression knobs. I am tempted. That being said, the built-in compression in the Boss ME50B has sounded good so far, so who knows.
  14. Don't know how I managed to overlook Risk to Exist by Maximo Park. Great Album, some great basslines, great to dance to. Superb.
  15. A more extreme example of what can be achieved with a cheap instrument and a clever Midlander that can do her up: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/298152-finished-pics-lighter-and-with-pizzazz-pumping-up-a-harley/?page=6#comment-3232961
  16. Please see AndyJR's build thread on a Harley Benton Jazz.
  17. Yeah I have just had a search and I believe it is still available so maybe. For now, I have pulled out and wiped the dust off the old Boss ME50B - it has a few compression settings to fiddle with despite it being fairly limited. But hey, some of the other effects on there are pretty nice too so will have to use it a bit more methinks.
  18. Maximo Park - all their albums. I saw Risk to Exist on Spotify and thought I'd download all their albums again. Have since seen them 4 times this year. Also, Ocean Colour Scene - Moseley Shoals. Packed with great choons.
  19. The Marshall and the Joyo ones are both "guitar" comp pedals - is there any real difference in performance between the two? Should I just be looking at good guitar compressors?
  20. Just checked - It's now discontinued They do have the Behringer Limiter/Enhancer thing though that has mixed reviews for £20 or so. Might be worth a punt?
