On a sidenote whats considered heavy for a bass body? like whats the actual weight of a Fender JB body?

So Im looking for a lightweight jazz body thats already routed and painted and such and my internet quest seems to have led me to Guitarfetish which are selling bass bodies weighing in at 2.8kgs for under $80. Problem is postage is another $70 on top so before splashing for delivery does anybody know of any UK based parts companoes that sell similar? Otherwise it looks like the pay postage and wait game...

No worries guys a few Fender Custom Shop cables came into my possession today "as a gift" from someone at a certain local guitat shop. Great day shopping. Went in to buy a few sets of flats, man in the shop put in a set of Elixirs, some picks and 2 Fender cables for an extra fiver and said Merry Christmas.

They are lovely the MIM Precisions. I had the privelege of playing a candy red one last time I was in PMT Birmingham. They are truly brilliant. Happy NBD

I think his music is at best very average. Some of his new stuff is a bit better, but still not great. What i do like about him though is that he has taken the teenage female audience (the same ones that part ways with their money to keep crap like X Factor going) and made millions from being their heartthrob. Kind of like Donny Osmond but a bit less weird. As a result hes worth $200million at the age of 22. Not bad going for someone who is largely despised by the world.

Recently bough a bitsa Precision from Davy. Bass arrived quickly and without incident from a quick and cooperative seller. Would do dealings with Davy again, and likely will with all these bitsas hes advertising...

Ive learnt a great many things in my first year back with the fat strings. Ive learnt that although people may be really great musicians, theyre not great in a band. Ive learnt that sometimes, less is most definitely more. Ive learnt that the key to doing anything is to first enjoy it, hence the collapse of a band that I believed to be a whos-who of the most talented late teen musicians I know. Ive also learnt that, genuinely, the true masters of this here instrument are the people here. The real virtuosos are amongst us. Oh and i learnt a little thing called GAS. At the start of the year I had 1 bass, then I had 2, then 1 again, and now 4... Its been one helluva year...

So, been eyeing up for a while the possibility of getting some guitar gear and an ABY pedal to split my bass signal into 2 channels - one for bass, one for an octave up guitar sound from the bass into a guitar amp. However, to make this sound decent, I am well aware I will probably need many effects and bits and pieces. If anyone has any pointers on decent ABYs, octave up pedals, guitar amps, and effects to get a rhythm guitar-like sound from the bass, I would love to hear. I know Royal Blood do something similar, so if anyone knows how to get a royal blood like tone *(maybe a bit cleaner and not at the expense all of Mike Kerrs gear comes at)* then I'd also like to hear it.

Looking for a little battery powered amp to take on my travels. Currently debating between Blackstar fly and Roland Micro Cube. Anyone have any recommendations?

So my cheap(ish) cable from amazon (£4) has just died on me, all my other leads work. Does anybody know of any cheapish cables that are decent and actually stand the test of time?

As a fan I'm still undecided. Some of the tunes are good, but after the 4th or 5th its hard to remember which song is which. They all sound to similar and don't have anything memorable. After listening to it, I had none of the new tracks left in my head for the remainder of the day, and even that bloody Canadian child managed to do that when I heard one of his tracks on the radio earlier in the year. Not like what happened the first time I listened all the way through Let it Bleed anyhow. On a semi-related note, I feel like time is running out for me to win my bet - I said Jagger would be 2016'd. I dont know whether Im happy or sad to lose this bet.

Well thats one way to get MJ stuck in my head. Seriously though, half my age and twice as talented. Kids have some serious skill, not to mention some SERIOUSLY nice basses...

Driver, repairman, "what should i get for XYZ" advice-giver. Plus the one that recorded drum tracks for when our drummer broke his elbow. Oh and bassist, backing vocalist and part time drummer. Ya know, the cement of the house that is our band.
