  1. Agreed. Mind you you, i started as a drummer and that was pretty tricky. Using all four limbs in differing patterns instead of two was an achievement. But i stuck at it and ended up gigging in several bands. Wish i'd started on bass though
  2. It's tragic What with the purchase price and then Dave Smart doing a service and fitting new switches for the graphic and preshape + pat test, i'm down £110 I need counselling
  3. As said by others, dont assume offence on others behalf
  4. It's also possible to post without insulting others. I didnt see Westwood doing any such thing, just you
  5. ...or... ugh...a guitarist ?

I'm in - an ESP LTD spalted maple fretless , owned from new, though it's going to be up for sale as the disease known as gas has me by the short n curlies
  8. Wise words chaps - but i have thought it through a bit more and probably going to drop the project.
  9. Frank - after Ep 3, try Ep 35
  10. hah - i've lost the plot. I'm now watching a fourth vid already. Entertaining
  11. Dammit - that was fascinating. Beato is a superb musician himself. That Yes vid was mesmerising so much i went and found Beato dissecting Kid Charlemagne and watched him tackle the brilliant and unique Larry Carlton solo. Utterly engaging
  12. Nice basses regarding the US marco basses
  13. A bic ballpoint will work
  14. That neck i posted is a peavey, so yes, they deffo use it in some basses
  15. I havent come across that as i avoid the fever of vintage J's and P's. What i have come across is allen key truss sockets that seem to defy all size allen keys, or allen sockets that get rounded off inside by the allen key tool Also, depending on the bass and how well the allen key fits, you have to slacken off the strings first so as to be able to manipulate the allen key in either direction.
  16. Dear Cliff, they're coming out of the woodwork I was thinking they were rare
  17. Its the only bass i've ever owned and seen with such rod adjustment - but i see they're about - cheers OBBM
  18. This is such a simple truss rod system that i'm wondering why it isn't used in loads of basses ?
  19. That was a steal. I've never seen a Greco selling that cheap over here, well not in recent years, but there's always exceptions
