  1. Anyone remember Night Of The Guitars from waaaaaaaaaaaay back in th 80's ? I watched the whole show and was mightily impressed with bass player Livingstone Brown, playing here in this vid with the late Pete Haycock ( RIP ) formerly of the Climax Blues Band Check L B's playing on this track of Pete's - Dr Brown I Presume - wonderful feel
  2. Jones with a small mention of the Gretsch he filed the frets down on https://www.bassplayer.com/artists/percy-jones-on-the-return-of-brand-x
  3. Finding time to practice with 4 kids So you're in a 5 piece ?
  4. You could murder that V body ?
  5. You were lucky. Wait till you get there next time and there's a few brain dead motorists all on it at once and you'll see
  6. MK beats all in terms of number of roundabouts, and i admit i've been lost there because every street looks like a clone of all the others, but for sheer madness, Swindon takes the biscuit. It's called the Magic Roundabout because it's sheer magic if you can get through it
  7. One of Charic's virtual baseball bats ?
  8. Nice glasses mate . Very Q from the Bond films
  9. Quite right
  10. According to history, original logos were a G in a circle with Goodfellow underneath. Also there was a G in a round circle with Handcrafted England beneath. Not sure which was earlier or which was later I think they retained the logo when Lowden took over in 87 till BG left and started Nightingale Guitars. The logo changed i think, when BG left Lowden/GB, but i've never seen a Goodfellow of any era with a logo like that BJ Goodfellow. That finish looks utter sh!te too - not very Goodfellow at all
  11. I hate that place. Especially that bluddy magic roundabout, as they call it round these here parts
  12. If you'd like an objective road tester , i'll volunteer. I'm prepared to drive to Swindon if you can too
  13. Peavey Rudy Sarzo sig 4 string
  14. I think i would avoid commissioning a bass from them if that's the kind of customer service you get. Any handbuilt bass could have a problem, but its how it's dealt with that is just as important. I would only really trust the big players on Basschat for a custom build. Andy or Alan - and Christine if she ever went for commissions
  15. The photo above is similar to how Brand X god Percy Jones started with fretless. I believe he had an old ( Gretsch ? ) and ripped out the frets from under the G string only. He can be heard on 1 or 2 tracks i believe, on the earliest album. The track Running On Three springs to mind
  16. If that was fretless, and a 4 string , and in a different colour, you would have sold that
  17. People can put a spin on anything, it seems. I'd like to hear that bass through a fluff filter
  18. Stunningly unusual
  19. Just buy a '64 Burns Sonic and one of those toy Hartke combos and you'll nail it
  20. That rear body shot reminds of some Chippendale furniture. And at that price, could they not have fitted some less rusty strings, and fitted them properly ?
  21. It gets better
  22. If the whole exercise was just a big laugh then furry muff. Although i don't see the humour. I should get out more, natch
