  1. According to history, original logos were a G in a circle with Goodfellow underneath. Also there was a G in a round circle with Handcrafted England beneath. Not sure which was earlier or which was later I think they retained the logo when Lowden took over in 87 till BG left and started Nightingale Guitars. The logo changed i think, when BG left Lowden/GB, but i've never seen a Goodfellow of any era with a logo like that BJ Goodfellow. That finish looks utter sh!te too - not very Goodfellow at all
  2. I hate that place. Especially that bluddy magic roundabout, as they call it round these here parts
  3. If you'd like an objective road tester , i'll volunteer. I'm prepared to drive to Swindon if you can too
  4. I think i would avoid commissioning a bass from them if that's the kind of customer service you get. Any handbuilt bass could have a problem, but its how it's dealt with that is just as important. I would only really trust the big players on Basschat for a custom build. Andy or Alan - and Christine if she ever went for commissions
  5. The photo above is similar to how Brand X god Percy Jones started with fretless. I believe he had an old ( Gretsch ? ) and ripped out the frets from under the G string only. He can be heard on 1 or 2 tracks i believe, on the earliest album. The track Running On Three springs to mind
  6. If that was fretless, and a 4 string , and in a different colour, you would have sold that
  7. People can put a spin on anything, it seems. I'd like to hear that bass through a fluff filter
  8. Just buy a '64 Burns Sonic and one of those toy Hartke combos and you'll nail it
  9. That rear body shot reminds of some Chippendale furniture. And at that price, could they not have fitted some less rusty strings, and fitted them properly ?
  10. If the whole exercise was just a big laugh then furry muff. Although i don't see the humour. I should get out more, natch
  11. I say pointless. But as always YMMV. What the eff is going on with those bottom strings? They appear to be sagging under their own weight. They look like they've been added as a laugh.
  12. Be as smug as you want mr Rogers. 100% deserved that BOTW, as were the others. It seems the Americans know quality when they see it
  13. The attention to detail throughout the build is astonishing, and if i may say, is up there with the same detailing as Andy's basses. The person that gets hold of that spare bass is going to be overjoyed, no doubt !
  14. That bass could be anywhere. No location stated for collection but no postage option either
  15. Bit late to the party but i found the DR Neons ( white in my case ) were much lower tension than the previous set i had fitted, and consequently i almost ran out of truss rod adjustment. In fact i had to raise the saddles a tad too. Sound ok though
