2. The "real thing" being the one that looks closest,is £679.AMPEG SVT450H SOLID STATE 450-WATT BASS HEAD AMPLIFIER
3. The main features of the Behringer ULTRABASS BVT4500H include: •Powerful 450-Watt bass amplifier head for crappy sound and performance •Non-musical 9-band graphic EQ for limited frequency control •Dedicated Bass, Mid and Treble controls for unusable sound shaping •Switchable limiter for ultimate volume with distortion •Balanced XLR DI output for direct connection to your Game boy. •Switchable Tuner Out which does'nt work either as a tuner connection or a live monitor feed •Effects Loop for external effects devices (stomp boxes, rack effects, etc.) So that you might have a slim chance of making this sound OK'ish. •Power Amp In and Preamp Out connectors allow you direct access to the power amp and a signal tap from the preamp section for even greater versatility •3 speaker outputs: Two 1/4 inch jacks and a professional speaker connector (compatible with Neutrik Speakon connectors) •In-Active, temperature-controlled cooling system for ultimate protection •Ultra-rugged power supply with cheap transformer for unreliable power. Customers who bought this also bought .Something better after 2 weeks. .Mind altering substances. I think that neither Ampeg,or Ashdown have anything to fear.IMO
4.
The body seemed more like pine than maple, almost like a cheap Ikea table, but the wood on this looks a bit better from the poor quality photo. Tone wise, not too bad, but sounded a bit cheap. The pickup is not very good, as others have said, but any humbucker size one should fit and be an improvement. These are really nothing special, and certainly not some amazing closet secret wonder find. I wouldnt pay more than a ton for it J
That just about describes the Gibson Grabber that i owned,in about 1980.It also cost £120.It was a huge toilet seat shaped piece of landfill.
5. I allways thought that Wales was in the Soviet bloc, now confirmed..........................sorry.Some INTERESTING looking things there though.
6. The site is crap,i had to click on the "look at this"bit to get any details.

8. I have a Vintage 5 string,it's good quality,the sound is ok,though not outstanding,stays in tune,and it plays great.
9. What's the problem with taking the neck off ? It's only 4 screws. If you want it done properly, the bass needs to be stripped of all components.
10. You take that, and i'll take the Warwick,NOBBY MEIDEL SIG,
11. I still have a Hohner L59 les paul, equally as good as any Gibson Les Paul i've ever had,and a better sound than most of them.
12.
I've heard from a vocal coach that they're not even good for your voice D: I can't vouch for the validity of it either way
Anything that is good for a sore throat has to be of some benefit IMO.Vocalzone are the best that i have tried.
13. Try, The Music Centre 8 Wellmeadow Street Paisley, PA1 2EF Phone: 0141 848 1033 The tech there seems like he knows his stuff.
14. Im not sure.I have thought about this a lot.I do'nt think that i have an "influence" or otherwise, that i am aware of,that i aspire to sound like,i just "know" what i want my sound to be like, and have been able to create "it" with almost any combination of the tons of amps and basses that i have owned or tried,Hartke,Behringer amps being the exception. While i have good gear (good meaning that i have no desire or need to replace),i often wonder if people are trying to re-create their heroes sound,or re-create the first good sound that they had. On reflection my first good sound was with my first basses as a bass player, previously i was a guitarist that owned a bass, and that was with a 68/9 Precision -60's EB3 - Selmer T&B 100w amp - 4x12 cab loaded with McKenzie 75w ? speakers. My first real influences were Andy Frasier,Jack Bruce, and i can still get that sound easily with my Jazz and Marshall DBS,even though that is not what my "sound" is.If anything i would say it is comparable to Phil Lynott,of the top of my head.clean and punchy. I have never felt the need to spend thousands of pounds on basses or amplification, while i have tried some very expensive basses,Alembic's etc,and would own one in a hartbeat,i have never really GASsed for one,and i have not yet got on with a high end amp.
15. "I'm totally GAS-free. And I'm not sure I like it. Anyone selling a rosewood 3TSB Roscoe Beck?"
16. That's why i said switch cleaner first WD40 will give a quick fix,and possibly save a Tech's fee.
17. Have you sprayed the pots with switch cleaner or WD40 ? that is a good and cheap way to get rid of crackles. It's active ? have you changed the battery ?
18. Let your love flow - Bellamy Brothers Money - Pink Floyd We got to get out of this place - The Animals Brown eyed girl - Van The Man Love Do'nt Live Here Anymore - Lady Antebellum
19. What are the body woods on the basses ? are they the same ? The Chinese bass will likely have a slightly inferior pickup. The finish of the bass will also have an affect on the tone, being that the HWY1 has a thin nitro coating, and the Chinese one will be thicker poly coated.
20. In about 1978 i had a Hondo Rick copy, that was definately not ply and a Hondo Les Paul that was, both sounded great.
21. The "strips of metal" on the neck are to remind you that you are not a poncy jazz playing twat.
