1.
He's actually been playing this bass and the Streamer on the latest 360 world tour along with a lot of promotion shows like The Brits so its certainly being used, along with his Streamer. As for his playing, having worked with one of U2's producers, I can tell you that Adam is a very good player. Maybe not the most technical but he is though of as one of the most solid tight bass players around. He certainly keeps the bottom end holding together.
You are Adam Clayton,i wish to claim my £5.
2. If it was a vintage original, such horribleness would cost a fortune.
3. I know a right handed drummer, that plays left handed because he started learning with the Phil Collins video.
4. That is proberbly how the 60's/70's ones came, bearing in mind that the red and yellow will have faded by now and the black often takes on a brownish colour with age.
5. Howard. He's sort of rugged, not pretty in the conventoinal sense, and i've not noticed if he has spots, but he is more than capable of making a scratch plate.
6. Obviously a crappy old Fender pre CBS,faked up to look like a quality, hand built by craftsmen Encore.
7. I typed in 30" squier bullet bass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiUcdGDc8XQ
8. CO wikipedia. The Fender Bullet Bass is an electric bass guitar model produced by Fender. It was introduced in 1982 as a part of a new line of guitars meant to replace the outgoing Mustang and Musicmaster - Fender's so called "student" guitars. The Bullet Bass had Mustang style pickups, but was available with a standard 34" neck in addition to the short scale 30" neck that the Mustang had. These instruments were only produced in the USA for a couple years until Fender decided to transfer Bullet production to Japan in 1984/85. They then fell under Fender's newly active Squier branding.
9. Fender + squier bullet bass ? 34" + 30" scales. 32" squier MIJ P
10. The Blues are only as boring as you make them IMO,it's horses for courses. Most of the Jazz that i've heard does nothing at all for me. As stated before,it's in all kinds of music,so you can learn something familiar from the start.
11. I had a 60's EB3,loved it,im really tempted by the Epi one.Massive range of tones in one bass ? the ones that i have had, ended up being unused.
12. If it's any help,a lot of the "bands" usually duo's,on the country scene that use backing tracks tend to use mini disc players straight into the P.A.
13. I have the DBS head with 1x15 and 2x10+1x15 bought for £400 IIRC,so i would say £300 - £350.
14. Spray the pot with switch cleaner,or a quick fix WD 40,no more crackles.
15. You could try silicon sealer,if you need to take them back out for any reason, they will be easier to get out than if you had used glue.Quick fix ? wrap with tin foil ?
16. Try Ronseal French polish for the neck,i have used it before with good results. Body stain,to give that grubby look ? wood dye.
17. Scratches - take them out with Solvol Autosol, then T-Cut.
18. Is there still room on the sofa ? i've got beers.
19. Has anyone made a good Telecaster guitar style bass ? the only ones that i have seen are made by Shine. The scale length is shorter,it should look like this IMO.
