1. Picky,picky,whats a scratchplate,pickup and a chisel ?
2. If its any help whatsoever,i've been gigging 20+ years, cant read a note, dont think i even know any scales, play mostly covers and earn a living from it.You are more than likely a far better player than i will ever be.Like someone said, its not a competition.I think about giving up now and again, but just cant.I think that you would be the same.
3.
My only 'niggle' is the fact that they don't do a straight ahead jazz bass.
http://www.overwaterbasses.com/classic_j.html
4. I had one of the Cort built through-neck basses a few years ago,it was a lovely thing.
5. "Kay did make some decent gear but IMO anything with the coat hanger wire string retainer is not worth the bother. All my opinion." These are not the same quality,by any stretch of the imagination as the early Kay models, which are collectable like the ones you posted links to,which are much better quality than any of the late sixties to seventies plywood models.
6. Its not worth much, and it's not a good back up bass, novelty value ? landfill ? Kay did make some decent gear but IMO anything with the coat hanger wire string retainer is not worth the bother. All my opinion.
7. Stomp boxes dont, and IME the patches that you programme in the house always sound different on stage.
8. A law against covering basses in plastic paint. A rig the size of a shoebox with huge power and ultra light weight.
9. Non digital, non programmable bass multi effects..............or do they ?
10. You lot are all coming out of the closet.I love Country,i also love getting paid for every gig.
11. "or meet on M4 between Carmarthen & Cardiff (to pay) & collect personally."
12. Stoopid sorry, the rounded edge of the screwdriver/socket works perfectly,no need for scraping or sanding.
13.
I don't think any 'musos' can say anything when there are players like Brent Mason and Dan Huff on guitar and great bass players like Glenn Worf,Michael Rhodes,Dave Pomeroy,Mike Brignardello and loads more. Even more 'name' musicians like Brad Paisley have got major chops. Special mention to Jerry Douglas who's the baddest Dovro player around.
This is worrying,im agreeing with Doddy, again. but he is right.
14.
I'm not a great fan, though I do like Emmy Lou Harris, her album with Mark Knopfler is excellent. I did some gigs with a Country band last year. It was actually really good fun. The gigs are generally really well attended, and the audience dance all the way through, you get some slightly odd people there though. I did a big festival up in Yorkshire with them, that was really good. 15. That to me looks as good as any modern fender.
16. Quick and easy method that i use is just to rub with the round shank of a screwdriver, leaves a smooth finish, with no possibility of sanding marks.

18.
The first Warwicks? Get them while they're still cheap!
No hurry then ?
19. Have a look in the for sale section, you will find that thats the place where other members have gear for sale, and probably have more luck than in here.
