  1. That’s not much more than the price of the strings! Or maybe even less!!
  2. Call me - Blondie ( again)
  3. Hard days night - Macca & those other 3
  4. Like you I hankered for one of these. I found one at a reasonable price bought and played it for a couple of years but was disappointed with it. It got traded. I hope you enjoy it more than I did.
  5. New York, New York - old blue eyes
  6. Sorry to hear of your assault and injury. I can only suggest the Hofner Violin bass which was the lightest I’ve ever had. I can’t remember the exact weight, no doubt someone on here who still has one can tell us.
  7. Brown sugar - Stones
  8. Look for something 2nd hand for your first bass then if you don’t take to it you can sell it on without a huge loss. Given your list of styles think about one of Spector’s Korean models, great value, really versatile and reasonable.
  9. What do you want - Adam Faith
  10. Looks good with gold, but brown tort would be nice too.
  11. Who knows where the time goes - Sandy Denny
  12. I see these have a proper 4 pole pickup. When I had. A Fender one back in the 70’s it was fitted with a strat pickup, which I didn’t know back then.
  13. Just come off a cruise to Alaska where one of the bands was an all girl group from Argentina- the Shelleys. They played some good jazz and Latin style music. I tried to download my video but it’s too large a file.
  14. Is this the gig you want irrespective of your ability or the one you could play if the band let you?
  15. We’ve got to get out of this place - The Animals
  16. Say it isn’t so - from Blood Brothers
  17. Just go old school and plug straight into the amp.
  18. The pink panther theme - Henry Mancini
  19. I don’t know whether a headstock should rock, I like Fenders, got most things right, straight away, but it shouldn’t cause the neck to droop and be tasteful. I think this is pretty good.
  20. If I remember correctly, a Ric is a shorter scale than a long scale Fender. An odd 33” springs to mind, but no doubt Ricky fans here will correct me. But aren’t they generally a lot heavier than your average P?
  21. Bus stop - The Hollies
  22. Never liked Wals, couldn’t care if they take a century to make.
  23. I like the look of this, never thought the scratch plate on the Stingray 5 did anything for its looks. Like the majority (?) here I have generally abandoned hard cases, they don’t fit the front seat of my tiny car (DS3).
  24. I think you’re all brave! I would want to test run first.
