I do when playing in church, straight to a digital desk (Heath I think). It’s ok but I find the tones very limited possibly because the sound man (several of them) don’t really have a lot of ideas on sounds from basses.

If you’re a lefty, your options a much more limited. I was when I started but switched to playing right handed and never looked back.

Whilst my list may not be very British, it’s what people listened to in Britain back then. I could have given the Ian Campbell Folk Group or the Corbies or Pentangle, but I doubt many people would remember them, British but niche.

For folk type stuff from that era try songs from the Springfields, Kingston Trio, the Spinners, Julie Felix, Joan Baez, Peter, Paul and Mary. That should produce some well known classics like the leaving of Liverpool, Puff the Magic Dragon, Island of Dreams, Tom Dooley.

This begs the question when is a tribute band not a tribute band?

Makes me think a tort plate would look good on my blue Precision, it’s got white at present.

Fender publish their recommendations online about setups. This is an extract which may help. +1 for the Varigrip, however you can get them a lot cheaper on eBay.

I agree with Cosmo especially as the f hole is in totally the wrong place. I had a Spectorcore which got it about right but normally it needs to be on a proper semi.

If you like the sound of it then keep the pickup and enjoy it. However I would try and “tidy up” the jack socket, get a new pickguard cut with a normally mounted Jack and something closer to the original shape.

String spacing 17mm. My other 4 stringers are 18mm on my Peerless (J.C. clone) & 19mm on my Fender P. Not enough difference to throw me. The only one that ever threw me was a Hofner.

Is there any point to the soundhole, the body doesn’t look thick enough to produce much of an acoustic sound and the scratch plate probably deadens it a bit more.
