1.
The 66 isn't really on your website yet (apart from the sibob page) so there's no mention of price for it anywhere matey?
It's technically "in development" but people have been asking for it so I have obliged. I should have the final spec narrowed down over the coming weeks to be able to fully release it. I want to squeeze every last drop out of it essentially!
 2.
I reckon that could be arranged Roughly whereabouts in Shefftown are you matey? ...and have you got one I could meet before ordering or is stock whatever you've got finished at the time?
Sorry for the delay, long weekend away for Mrs TG's birthday! I'm in south Sheffield on the way out to Dronfield and Chesterfield. You can certainly meet one prior to ordering! Due to workload at the minute all pedals (including stock) are built to order, but I have a couple of 66's that will make their way into existence in the next week or so. Worth noting that if you want to get hold of anything quickly, my engraved stock pedals are the quickest option, as they are pre-engraved and drilled and merely await their innards...
 3. That's beautiful!! Great find!
 4.
Does anyone have any youtube / sound samples of the 66 please? I'm very tempted and they're only in Sheffield so I could meet up for a brew when I collect it!
I should warn you, there is a collection surcharge of a pack of jaffa cakes... ;-)
 5.
best analog up and down octaver for my money is a pearl octaver, if you can snag one on ebay...
+1
 6. Alright chaps, some free pedal guts that may be of use to some of you - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/220461-to-go-effect-pedal-guts/
 7. After gutting a few pedals to pilfer their enclosures for customers wanting something specific, I'm left with some guts I have no need for. Cover the cost of postage for one, some or all and they are yours. They are as follows: * EHX Big Muff - new style PCB using 550 trannies and 500k Level pot. This circuit is not currently working nor diagnosed, I merely wanted the huge enclosure so did nothind beyond casting it aside! [s]* Boss DS-1 -[/s] Claimed [s]* Boss DS-2[/s] - Claimed [s]* Behringer Vintage Tube Overdrive [/s]- Claimed There are more lurking about, I will post them on here as I find them. Cheers!

 9.
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help me regarding a Boss DS-1 pedal mod. I read on line that an easy mod to do was to remove two resistors which I did (can't remember which two but could open the pedal up if needed), this was to make the DS-1 more like a boost pedal ... however what I would really like is to try make this sound something a Darkglass Microtubes B3K if that's at all possible ? I know it's probably a big ask lol I want to use this for bass guitar & don't need that much distortion. Ideally I'd like a 'blend' control knob instead of 'tone' & maybe less 'gain' and hopefully not lose too much low-end esp as I play 5 string .... Is this something any of you could do ? Or could you steer me in the right direction regarding DIY ? Any help / suggestions welcome ... I know I could just buy a B3K but don't like the Boss just collecting dust ...... cheers Simon
Probably best off building a Tube Sound Fuzz and a clean blend and working from there. The Boss achieves its tone in a different way to the Darkglass. That said, you've got the Boss there so experiment away. I've got the guts from a DS1 I won't use (i needed the enclosure!) You can have if you cover postage in case it doesn't go right on yours!
 10.
Si I love your artwork! I'm working on a pedalparts TS808 kit I have a couple of questions about pots. Firstly, there's nothing on the pots to identify which terminal does which. Pots are 'Alpha' like the ones in Si's DAM Meathead and Fuzz Face. PCB has 3 connections for each pot, outers are labelled 1 and 3, middle is presumably 2 but isn't labelled. Is there a wrong way to connect these up? Secondly, the pot has a cast alloy lug sticking up next to the shaft which stops it sitting flat in the enclosure - presumably I can just file this off to get the pot to seat properly, or is there something missing? Kind regards, Pete
Hi Pete, With the pot lugs facing you and the pot shaft facing up, the lugs are 1-3 left to right. The metal tab allows you to drill a second hole in the enclosure for this to slot into. Chances are you'll want to snap it off with some pliers and forget the second hole. Hope that helps! Tom
 11.
I've been thinking about getting a blend pedal of some kind, basically to just mix back in some proper bass tone when using effects, mainly dirt. Was looking like the LS-2 was the only option, but it's kinda complicated as all I need is A/B volume, even a sinlge pan or blend knob would do it and an on/off switch. Reckon it would be worth talking to Cog, or would it end up more pricey than just getting an LS-2 and ignoring everything else it does?... Cheers, Eude
Hey Eude, For something that simple the LS-2 would be a cheaper option honestly. Sure I'm probably not supposed to talk my way out of business but for purely blending clean back in with your existing dirt the LS-2 will do the job just fine. Check for anything that will invert phase though, in which case either a unit from me or the Xotic would be good options! Cheers :-) Tom
 12.
I think it would make it much more useable for bassists... I suppose a possible way to this besides modding the pedal's switch, would be to have the pedal on a loop with momentary switch?
That would give you repeats only while the momentary switch was held down, so you wouldn't get the trails once you let go. You'd need an active circuit to mix the trails with the dry signal. If there's enough interest in a delay trails looper I'll happily put one together.
 13. Pretty sure you'd be looking at modding an existing pedal, or getting either a custom delay, or custom looper to put the delay in. I could be wrong though, there may be something out there I'm not aware of!
 14.
I would have thought the point of having this would be to put it at the end of the chain? No point taming the lows from the bass to add them all back on with fx! But yes, I'd like one too.
Depends. Having it at the end is the logical thing to do if you're looking at it purely from an amp point of view. You get different interactions with pedals when the Thumpinator is before them though. Great bit of kit, only bit of signal processing on my board that isn't built by me, I highly recommend it!
 15.
Hey guys. Ive been looking at making a few pedals for the first time lately and have had a skim through this thread. Ive picked up a simple kit to start with, but I need to sort myself out some gear for this. Does anybody have any recommendations on what soldering iron to buy and anything you think might be essential? Can I get away with something cheap or is it worth paying extra for the quality? I saw a starter kit on diypedalkits, but they no longer sell it and now the site is down, typical. Any help would be greatly appreciated to get me started off.
A helping hands can be useful, and can be picked up cheap (don't go to Maplins for this). Soldering irons vary. Pay more, get more, but you can always start cheap and then pay more later. Make sure you've got a nice brighlty lit area to work in too!
 16.
That's not right. Along with it's other issues, I'd ask for a replacement.
^^this^^
 17. Apparently the mars rover had gaffa tape on it as it was the best repair. Probably not true but I'd like to think so! Also, Christmas light hooks are a good one. Plastic clip with an adhesive back. Two of those would do what you need as well!
 18.
I'm about to build a copy of the Catalinbread SFT using this ready-made PCB from madbeanpedals: As you can see, there's no spare room for drilling holes for mounting screws and the pots aren't board mounted. Any tips?
Picture mounting sticky foam is a good one in a bind like this. It's like double-sided tape but gives you a bit of distance between board and enclosure. Ebay is dirt cheap, or you can get it from Poundland/Poundstretcher/B&M - any budget home store. You can get little PCB slots with adhesive on them, but looking at the board I think you'd struggle to get enough of it into the slot to guarantee a good hold. Good luck!
 19.
I'm stopping now, for a while at least!...
We'll see about that
 20.
Yep, brand new. I already opened it to see if the battery was the issue, have I voided my warranty?
No, that's no issue so you're all good. Give the shop a call today, explain what's gone on and say you want a replacement or refund. Did you buy it online? Even more protection if so. Best thing to do is to just get straight on it though, don't wait let us know how you get on!
 21.
So yesterday, I got my new Bass Big Muff Pi in the post. Set it up, turned it on, no problems whatsoever. Today however, I turned on my amp and got absolutely nothing. After some investigation, it seemed that the BBMP was the issue. After probing some more, I found that I could get a sound if I used the dry output, however the effect output gave me nothing. Another odd thing that occurs is that when I run through the effect output with the BBMP switched off, it works fine until I turn it on, where I don't get anything. This persists even after turning it off again. I'm really quite stumped as to what the problem could be so any help/suggestions would be much appreciated. Cheers, Elliot
Loose connection. Is it brand new? If so, don't even open it up, contact the vendor and get it swapped for another one!
 22.
I'm looking forward to getting them. Just means my pedalboard is a little small now...
I'm a big believer in aggressive expansion!!
 23. Good spending! I'm a fan of the Polytope, very interesting pedal! I can't imagine I'd change the signal chain you've listed, like you say it's all subjective but that is a good place to start!
 24. Hey Al, have you tried bass->cable->B3K->Cable->Amp? ie take everything else out of the equation and see how the pedal interacts on it's own? Presumably you're feeding it the full signal from your bass, not turning down massively or anything like that?
