Cheers for the kind words chaps! I think what has been mentioned above about Muffs being destructive is very true. It is a fuzz, after all! Also true is that there is no "right" or "wrong" when choosing one. Personally, I wouldn't touch the EHX Deluxe because most of the extras are completely unnecessary in my eyes and just mean a larger enclosure, but that's just me. Clean blend/no clean blend, stock mids/adjustable mids have varying levels of value to different players. The Tarkin I have on my own pedalboard has a clean blend and a three-way adjustable mids switch, because that's how I like it myself, whereas others get a great sound with a Muff without the extras. I can't comment on a TFR as I haven't had the pleasure of playing one, but they look very nice and I appreciate the effort that has been gone to to recreate a particular sound, and by all accounts it does it very well. The EHX BBM did exactly what it said on the tin, and for the price you can't argue, just the niggle about the clean blended setting boosting your signal meaning it was difficult to implement to a setup without modification to the pedal. Again, I've not had the pleasure of playing a Grey Stache, but I can't imagine they sell as well as they do based on kid paint alone!! I'm trying to tread carefully here, lest I sound like an advert, so I'm only really passing comment on pedals by other builders - feel free to drop me a PM if you want to know more about mine and the variations/mods I do! As for sound clips for mine, I'm currently without a recording setup and am in the workshop most nights so have been unable to get bass clips recorded as yet. On the one hand I'm glad I've been too busy, but on the other I am very conscious that they are absent, so if anyone has the facilities and wants to review or record bass clips of a Tarkin give me a shout!

I use lenses on my pedals so you can have a bright LED without the glare. They light the whole lens too, so you don't get the same narrow-viewing-angle problem either. Quite handy really!

First, people should always ask to borrow gear, and it's up to you whether you lend it. Simply asking for something shouldn't mean they automatically get it! Saying "no" doesn't make you an arse. Are they going to pay for it if it breaks? I wouldn't count on it. Second, the best way to try and avoid the issue is to arrange everything in advance. If you're not the guy who arranges things, make sure the guy who is knows what you'll lend and what you won't. I'd avoid leaving jack cables on stage too - easily nicked or picked up accidentally if nothing else, and then you're up the creek when you get up there to play. Nothing worse than needing to borrow gear during a changeover!

Another fan of two 15's here as well. I use two BFM Jack 15 cabs and I couldn't be happier.

On a live photo from 2011 I saw him using a Boss LS-2, GEB-7, NS-2, TU-2 and EHX Bass Big Muff. Couldn't find a great deal of info about what he uses in the studio though.

[/quote] I'd do that with the Boss, but be careful with the MXRs as they almost always use board-mounted jacks, and unless the pedals are bolted down you can put strain on the PCB when pressing the switch.

[/quote] That switching scheme won't work for this application. From your bypass switch, you need to run to the clean-blend PCB. The additional switch to turn on and off the clean blend isn't a bypass switch, you use it only to switch the output - either fuzz or fuzz and blend. Assuming you're using a 3PDT blue switch, you'll probably use one pole for LED indication, one to switch between lug 2 on the blend pot and the BM output (for blended fuzz or just fuzz, respectively), and the final one to disconnect lug 3 of the blend pot from the output of the BM when not wanting clean blend. I'll draw it out when I get chance today or over the weekend!

What I would probably do is leave the input/send and just concentrate on switching the BM output and the mix pot output, while at the same time taking the mix pot out of the equation with one of the other poles on the switch. Jumper the Level trimpot on the blend PCB, you've already got the BM Level control so won't need this.

At the minute, budget limits me to spray cans, a compressor is on my Christmas list, though my Christmas list is pretty long... NoirBass - what are the fuzz and blend circuits you'll be using? Switching may depend on the type of fuzz to get the best out of it is all.
