  1. That's just the opposite, Mick. Leduc idea since the mid 80's... But that's not the point as it's, to me, the best location for the output jack as it works perfectly sitting or standing. The bad positions are on the side pointing to the ground, at 45 degree or 90 degree. The Fender output jack on the table is a good one if there's a metal plate holding it. An excellent position is on the side pointing up à la Ibanez AFR, which is my favourite design ever for a bass. Look at the ergonomics. Yes it's mine. Original one from the early 90's.
  2. The lower horn pointing outside will help prevent slipping towards the head and allow total access to the 26th fret. 😉
  3. One of the best placement is, to me, this one. And I've owned and played over 300 basses... 🤦‍♂️ :
  4. Are you sure ?
  5. It was 7 months ago, Dave. And on Bassic.de, the ads are only live for a month...
  6. I'm in too. Great project well thought, except for one point that in fact is a two point : the lower horn. With your design, the bass will always slip when played sitting without a strap and the access to the dusty end will simply be impossible... Rethink the lower horn and you'll have a very appealing design which I really love and an ergonomic bass. Think also about the placement of the output jack, which is too often the stupidest place ever. 😉
  7. That's what they always say anyway. Do you think I should use an anaesthetic before proceeding ?
  8. I can confirm. That hurts a lot !
  9. Go play the DoI.
  10. Twerp.
  11. Boy !
  12. Stop this Sharon !
  13. I put a wet towel around my head. Go on, try to push all buttons at the same time !
  14. I won't send them now that I know it's you.
  15. Is the remote control included ? And what is it for ? Changing EQ settings ?
  16. I have a simple question, Harry, due to the fact that it's a (very) short scale. Where are you positioning the two pickups ? Is it, scale wise, à la Fender 60's (or 70's) or at postions of your own ?
  17. And his (band) mate Carmine Appice too, so sadly this seems to be true. May he rest in peace. Tim Bogert, Vanilla Fudge and Cactus Bassist, passes away at 76 (devdiscourse.com)
  18. Why not put 3 volumes (and a master tone) instead of the 3 on/off switches ? This would be much more easier to balance the pickups different outputs when they will be in an odd configuration...
  19. You got it @itu : there are indeed 4 parts with 3 dividers. Sometimes I should not be so twisted and talk like everybody.
  20. Tracking has (almost) no latency because the frets (each fret is divided in three) are sensing the string. Wal and Peavey used this patented system too. 😉 Check here : https://industrialradio.com.au/
  21. Very nice job and I love the Luminlay at the last position. It, somehow, ends the fingerboard(ing). 👍
  22. What are your other basses and how old are the strings ? With too resonant woods, this kind of thing can happen, but it has nothing to do with the pickups, except if you here some "noise" when scratching the wood nearby or the covers with your fingers (nothing metallic over the covers). In this case, they are indeed microphonic... There are solutions, but you'll need to track down the problem.
  23. Welcome to the club !
