I see what you'd like to do, BUT (yes it's a big but) you'll have tracks without the real dynamic of a live player, so the final result will be biased. For instance the transient response and the whole dynamic details of the bass will be totally lost, because of the recording process itself even if it's in wave 24 bits at 96 kHz. This means that in the real world, the speakers may start to distort or fart way more earlier than with a bass plugged straight in and I'm not even starting the whole impedance matching problems, which can highly bias the final judgement. Tough and straight answer, I know, but it will really help you.

That's it @Downunderwonder.

I have an answer most of you won't like. Here it is and it's a known fact : Homo sapiens seems unable to adapt to an environment and MUST adapt the environment to his liking. For once try to use the 4% of your remaining homo neanderthalensis genes and adapt yourself to this (new) environment. Told you...

Don't forget to reposition the pickup accordingly to the 32 inches scale. Now you can start the making some firewood. 🤣 PS : The end of the top horn is generally an octave indicator, so aligned with the 12th fret and it's a minor adjustment. 😉 PS bis : Do you know the exact position of a Stingray pickup ?

Try the old procedure : Press on/off and volume simultaneously.

What's your phone @Downunderwonder ?

Take the 50% refund as the covers will have many many other marks in a short time period.

And CTRL + V to copy it where you want... as it's a command similar to copy-paste. On a smartphone just slide your finger from the top, the "Screenshot" option will appear. It will become a png file that you can share immediately or find in your files (search the recent ones). I looks like this or similar :

@lownote12 Same for me, for now. GAS indicator is very very low. That said, I have owned so many basses and amps that I almost can say that I have tried everything and the ones I didn't try have absolutely no bass appeal. My last GAS was 2 Trace Elliot combos (BLX 130 SM and 1210 fridge) bought for very silly money and sold back immediately because there's nothing decent (to me as a fretless player) coming out of these really way too heavy boxes. That said, I keep watching the ads, but there's nothing I fancy. I have SES (Selling Everything Syndrome) now, just keeping what I like and use, but certainly not wanting to start another collection. And I'm really HAPPY !

As everybody said : ear fatigue.

I really can't wait for the next step ! This is like reading The Green Mile again the way it was released...

But having a real selling price database is better than removing the ads...

@Abjatar The wooden Arpège mentioned earlier is for sale in France right now (not sure it's an original fretless though, so could be refretted) : https://www.leboncoin.fr/instruments_de_musique/1763994189.htm?ac=1839552155

It's really looking very good right now ! Congratulations !

Yep, exactly 1980 for the first Delta Metal fretless instrument... The very early Delta Metal fretless models were "lined".
-
Or the extraordinary Delta Metal one (I love metal fingerboard on fretless basses, check the Fretless Porn thread and my Le Fay Remington Steele 6 RHT CC CAP Big Block) :
-
Or the carbon neck one :

Try to extend that lower horn a bit for better balance when playing sitting. And also better visual balance : win-win on both aspects.

Hey Mick, better watch all of the first video as he's really playing like a bassist after that dusty end introduction... That said, the Alembic CX3 strings are the same and according to many people exactly the same strings built by GHS for them. These are indeed excellent strings with all the advantages of both types and not the disadvantages, except that they tend to rust very quickly : thank you nickel-iron... I had the Alembic CX-3 on my Alembic's and they simply were the best strings you can put on these basses. You can even buy a 6 strings set by Alembic and I think this CX-3/30LCB set will go on my newly acquired Le Fay Remington Steele 6 RHT CC CAP Big Block. http://www.alembic.com/prod/strings.html

Just to put some oil on the fire... A bolt-on neck only needs two fixture points (in fact one would be enough, but the neck would be able to move on it's own axis). The fixture points towards the bridge are useless as they are in compression mode. All the tension is on the fixture points towards the headstock. It's a reverse Archimedes lever principle. You can see the action of this principle on old Fender's 4 points fixture where the heel very end of the fretboard (all the neck in fact) has been uprising (and the shim doesn't help in this case). Now I'll throw some water on the oil, just for fun.

Looks even better now, Harry. Nice mod, mod ! 😎

Maybe don't put the Superquad so close to the bridge. Use the good old Leo 70's Jazz Bass position for the single coil placement or use the MusicMan Stingray placement. Think about purpleheart for the fingerboard as it will age the same way as the padauk, I mean that reddish browny. I really like the body shape.
