  1. You CANNOT leave us in suspense - OPEN THE BOX!
  2. I can only think of 2 I have sellers remorse for at the moment. First would be the Sparkle Blue MIJ Steve Harris signature, the ones that came out around 2009-ish. Sold to @SH73 on here if I remember correctly. Ended up getting one of the WHU crest ones recently. Second would be my very first Bass, a Marlin Slammer precision copy. Played terribly I'm sure, but I didn't know the difference back then. Bought it for £25. Would love to have that up on the wall!!
  3. Lozz's point here illustrates perfectly what I find frustrating. Like most of us on here, I tend to remember (roughly, granted) how much stuff cost going back over the years (when I were a lad, lol) So the same 2015 Precision that cost £900 new, is now up for sale 8 years later secondhand at £1000+ coz a new 2023 US precision is now £1800. EDIT: This is great if you're selling, mind.
  4. Very Nice Lozz. Quite fancy one of these myself!
  5. Just noticed the windings on the D & G pegs and now feel like I have to buy it to sort that out - my OCD going nuts.
  6. I could be wrong but I think these were made in Taiwan. Brilliant Basses though, I had a SFG one amongst a few LTD 2/3's I've owned.
  7. Mono Betty for me - Just got a new one from Bass Direct actually.
  8. I got one of these a while ago for as a backup for a cable I have like yours. Slightly different design but the same idea.. https://www.hotroxuk.com/planet-waves-custom-compression-series-leads.html
  9. This is probably overall the most complete and correct answer to the OP question! YMMV!
  10. Yep as other have said above, as you're all bring gear for the Jam night, it should be equal split. The only time I've ever been involved in a non-equal split was a band where the drummer owned the van and we all rode in it to and from gigs. He took Fuel money and we split the remainder equally, seemed fair to me. Sorry to say it - but IMHO your jam night colleagues are taking the P1ss.
  11. Absolutely stunning! I snagged my MK1 4 string through a wanted ad on here back in 2020. Never looked back! I've had similar experiences as mentioned above with the lack of recognition of mine when gigging, most people don't have a clue what it is and it's only ever other players who comment. That really is an absolutely amazing Bass, Congratulations!
  12. I remember having an Ibanez Destroyer 2 bass back in the day, probably the 3rd / 4th Bass I ever owned. Seem to remember thinking it was actually pretty good but felt a little stupid playing it in public..
  13. And I hope you don't mind me saying Sam - Bloody good you were too, that Red Rick is super sexy. First time I've seen Chris live also and I was blown away. Great band you got there!
  14. I agree it shouldn't need it, just pointing out I've seen it before.
  15. The neck / string alignment thing can happen with any bolt-on neck during transit. Should just need a pull one-way or the other to sort that out. IMHO the major thing wrong with these is that the pickup itself is barely wide enough to cover all 4 strings. It wouldn't take much placement error at all to get it wrong. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending it at all, just seems to me they didn't consider this when coming up with the design. All the other complaints - neck dive, preferred truss rod access etc is stuff we've been saying about Basses for ever.
  16. Yep looks like it's barely been out of the case never mind gigged. Expensive? Certainly. But as is said above, don't think I've seen a cleaner 51-52 year old bass than that.
  17. Few bits popped up on Youtube already. They were filming for a DVD release at the Wolverhampton show apparently. I've also just been watching the show from the old Town & Country club back in the day. Also fantastic.
  18. Excellent purchase, I Always wanted one of these - When I first started playing at 14/15yrs old, The Whitesnake album Slip of the Tongue came out around the same time and I remember seeing Sarzo playing one in the 'Fool for your loving' video.
  19. Don't know if he's been mentioned yet but this guy is a monster player. https://www.youtube.com/@TJH3113 Mostly him playing along to songs, great if you're into Rush, and he's got some lovely Basses too. Loved Guy Pratt's Lockdown Licks, always have a click through Andertons All about the Bass, SBL, Bass the World, Low end Lobster, Luke from Become a Bassist to name but a few and of course our very own @Dood has a great channel too (DanVeallBassist). My other favourites (not necessarily Bass related sorry) are Premier Guitar rig rundowns, Dave's World of Fun Stuff, Circle of Tone, Justin Hawkins, JHS pedals...
  20. Yep I've done a deal with Will recently and he's an absolute gent. Email's back and fore beforehand were excellent, and my goodness he's got some lovely stuff there!
  21. I've only ever been asked as part of a whole band, when signing CD's etc for someone. Never individually!
  22. Me and a few are going to Wolverhampton on Friday. Looking forward!
  23. It's great when you find 'your' strings. Personally for me it's Dunlop super bright nickels 45-105. Quite bright at first but they settle quickly, and then stay the same for ages. They're also lower tension than other 45-105's out there that I've tried, which was something I'd been looking for for a long time. Haven't done any proper recording for a while, but when I did I would usually put a fresh set on about a week before, and make sure to play a bit every night on them so they lose the initial over the top zing..
