  1. What was that single Cozy Powell did, that got in the hit parade?
  2. I heard (from a secondary source) they were all on retainers, so still got paid even when the orchestra was not working.
  3. Are we still allowed to watch The Blues Brothers? White saviours Cultural appropriation Black people portrayed as secondary participants in their own culture Etc. https://www.google.com/amp/s/cinematicslant.com/2018/05/21/how-would-the-blues-brothers-fare-today/amp/
  4. Internet trickery, deceptive camera angles and the like! It's a regular size Toblerone, and a mini bass! 😝
  5. Well since you ask, how about one from 1982, one from 1985, and one from 1986? 😝 Presenting the forgetful Mr Happy Jack on bass...
  6. If anything it's proved how MacWifey and I do not want kids. Telling the 10 year old, and her 8 year old brother is another matter...
  7. I love me some 'Maiden and know Steve goes for a clanky sound, but this topy clankyness is just horrible. IMO 😉
  8. I've got a Peavey Vypyr VIP 3, which can be used with bass and guitar. I've gigged with it too using both bass and guitar.
  9. I used to use the floor version of the Behringer V-Amp. I used the Marshall amp setting for pretty much everything - clean and dirty - because it sounded so good.
  10. Apple Mac Mini i5 Dual Core With 16GB RAM & 256Gb SSD Boxed. cleanly installed with MacOS High Sierra (10.13) £295. Is this a good deal?
  11. Depends, what's your peace of mind worth?
  12. does the processor make a difference on Macs? There seems to be many different generations around of the i5 and i7?
  13. that's gonna be eBay then!
  14. Is Catalina the Apple equivalent of Windows 10? Is this spec any good for £245? 1.40 GHz Intel Dual-Core i5 processor 4GB LPDDR3 1600 MHz memory Intel HD Graphics 5000 256GB SSD macOS Catalina 10.15
  15. Mike makes lovely basses. Wonderful chap to chew the fat with too 😎 (he's also to blame for introducing me to Bassworld - which is wot Basschat was back in the day!)
  16. I haven't been going to the gym, so feel like I have less energy. And I'm getting back/shoulder aches that I never had before, possibly from home working Regarding enjoying NOT gigging, that would be a no. Gigging and being in a band are a large part of my social life, and most of my friends are in bands or musicians.
  17. My quest to get recording continues. Having been through various PC DAW's and considered hardware options, I've been reading 'Garageband for Dummies' and it seems that this is a DAW I can get my head round. I know absolutely nothing about macs, but I've been looking at the mac mini's due to size, and there seem to be a few going for under £300, which suits the budget. What spec should I be looking at? At the moment all I want to do is use Garageband (with my midi controller keyboard, and guitar port), but as I'm working from home, it would be good to have a backup computer in case the laptop dies. Advice and opinions gratefully received, thanks McD.
  18. Apparently expensive isn't always best
  19. i thought this was going to be about Laurence Cottle playing on Black Sabbath's 'The Headless Cross' album...
  20. this is an old band of mine, playing a song wot I wrote. Bass solo kicks in 1:33
  21. Basschat needs a "who's the best guitarist" thread as much as the ozone layer needs another hole.
  22. If there is more that can go wrong, there is more that will go wrong.
  23. I love doing gigs, being a punter not so much.
