1. MacDaddy

    I'm off to NZ.

NZ is the new Hollywood. There must be plenty of opportunities there now. Good luck! BTW as I type I'm wearing my Highlanders rugby super 12 top.
  2. There's an NJ pointy BC Rich in the for sale for £150. If I had the space I would have snapped it up.
  3. not sure why people think the 2 are exclusive? +1 on Jakeys comments.
  4.
They can compete with the online people but many stores seem unable to grasp the concept that good customer service will win over price differential most of the time, especially on large, expensive purchases. Plus a few bricks and mortar shops I know will match Internet prices. They get my business because that is a big part of customer service - going the extra mile.
+1 I just want someone to be nice to me.
  5.
Indeed it has. I've seen Andy in there too, which i'm not sure is a good thing...
Definitely NOT a good thing. That man is a liar and a thief, and I have documentation supplied to the Courts to prove it.
  6. the listing isn't there any more.
  7.
JESUS!!! OK Who wants to do a swap for a 4 string Stingray? LOL
But it * ROCKS OUT !!!!
  8.
BigDaddy? I know about the waiting thing with one-off stuff. My bass was all but finished but for the pickup - the first 5 string P PUP Jon's people had done. It took a few goes to resolve the problems (not sure what they were) so an extra 3 months or so just for that.
I know it's gonna be worth it in the end. I just wish the end would come a lot sooner!
  9.
Thumb Chum?
like it!
  10.
Long Fleabass discussion thread here
indeed, my post was simply commenting on the article.
There are a number of posters on here that are both entertaining a informative. Sling them a few quid.
thanks Beefy, but I haven't really got the time at the moment
So if you hire good journalists who know their gear and have the balls to point out when a guitar is nowhere near what it should be for what it costs, you risk losing your advertisers, or having the manufacturers refuse to send you any more review models
not sure, I mean where else are bass manufacturers going to advertise to British bass players in a British bass magazine? There's not really a lot of options on the magazine racks for bass mags. 1 British, 1 USA.
  11.
Pupoveramp?
still a bit long, too many syllables.
  12. There's a lot of love on the board ATM for the Squier CV and the Vintage V4? How do we think they compare? The Vintage wins on price, but does it win on value?
  13. Just scrapped my car today it was gonna cost more to pass the MOT than the car was worth. I'm gonna look out for a 1 litre hatch that's cheap to run.
  14.
Here's my new TC Electronics Rebel 450 and 2x10 and 2x12 cabs First time out on Saturday and very pleased with it I was too. Oodles of power and great tone. The cabs are surprisingly light for their power and the amp is very light as well. Took the '61 P Bass and the Alembic out for run too. Lovely stuff. Enjoy!
Another 2x10, 2x12 man! It's the way to go
  15. try the for sale section here http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=45304&hl=thumb pre-owned but £900.00

  18. Not too bad. Can't say I noticed any changes, but that could be me. The Flea article was an advert for the Fleabass. "It doesn't need to be really expensive" Flea. Price £499.00 for the 34inch, £449.00 for the 30inch. So £500.00 for a made in China bass . No review though.
  19. Aways thought the Durannies had better songs, but Hadley is definitely a better singer. I preferred JT's basses too, especially when he got the Kubicki's! He's probably a better a bass player than MK.
  20. The all in one pup cover/ramp/thumb rest is going through a redesign. John sent me pics of a mock up, but I wanted it slightly longer to extend more towards the bridge. I'm gonna have to come up with a name for this to save having to write all in one pup cover/ramp/thumb rest. Any ideas? How about the Mac?
  21.
eek!
22.
'Ug?'
23.
Doesn't matter. McCartney picked up a Hofner, not a Gibson.
he picked up the cheaper copy because he couldn't afford the more expensive Gibson.
  24. Hofner Violin? Surely not, as it was a cheaper copy of a Gibson bass.
