WP is awesome. Being a .NET web developer by trade, I didn't want anything that was too much grief to maintain. WP really is fantastic and I've done all of this without touching a single line of code. Brilliant.

[/quote] This! 9v to 18v is a sizeable difference I've found. 18v > 24v hardly audible. However, what I love is that I've got 24v in the space (or less so) in the space of a 9v. Dood, my first couple of 24v cells from eBay lasted a good 6 to 9 months (maybe more) of regular playing and gigging so pretty good life.

I've done exactly the same mod to my EMG equipped basses. Found an eBay seller a couple of years ago selling the 24v mod and brought some but then he'd shut up shop. Like yourself, decided to buy the A23 battery clip and make my own. Now, when the A23 cells die, just pop in another couple and all in less space than a standard 9v. In terms of moving from 18v to 24v, no, I've not noticed any difference between both but did so moving between 9v and 18v.

It's just a great tone, especially when I dig in and give it some with the Spector. I've said to Russ offline that if I could get the tone of the HD350/Berg/EMGs into my IEMs and out front, I'd be as happy as a canine with two appendages. Want to have something that will give me the tone of an expensive mic in front of the Berg along with a top quality DI. Ideas? Would investing in a Reidmar with a 1x12 Berg or 1x12 Proline and an expensive mic be the answer? Love the aggression/authority of a "amp" tone but want not the grief.

We played The Jam House in Brum last night and it was the first gig in ages that we've done without IEMs. Can't believe the difference in using "traditional" monitoring again. Our vocalists really struggled all night with the volume of the monitoring, felt so much less controlled and much harder to hear the band and the separation of individual instruments. After 2 x 1hr sets, we call came off stage noticeably more tired and somewhat deafer. Made us all realise that since going fully IEM, it's made such an improvement to our performances and our enjoyment of gigging.

Think the TU-2 I've got is the oldest bit of kit I've got. Basses, amps, cabs, pedals have all come and gone but the TU-2 is still a constant. Bullet proof and EXCEPTIONAL at what it does for not a lot of dollar.

Of course she couldn't because of the isolation. Of course they cost an astonishing amount of money but IMHO, worth every penny. Russ put it succinctly when he said it was like investing in a Bergantino cab for each ear and I truly get this view. It's totally changed my view of IEMs now, I'm seriously wondering whether or not the money I've got invested in my backline could be rationised to a small 1x12 with a micro head and a REALLY good DI such as an Avalon or Radial. In terms of what's behind me on stage, I don't really hear it anymore so it seems pointless in having all that kit. I maybe biased but I've not needed to look at another cab since I brought the CN212 last year. It's been an absolute revelation, easily the best cab I've owned (and that's been a fair few [size=4] [/size][size=4])[/size] [size=4]One of the cabs I was considering at the time was the GB NX2 212T, particularly as my Streamliner was the amp of choice at that time. The reviews were really glowing on the 212T and I tried one out. Loved it. However, I loved the Berg just a little more. Why? Just think the Berg was a little more open, very marginally more articulate and a wee bit more cultured. Again though, all IMHO and a[/size][size=4]s with a lot of these things, it's not which one is "better", it's which one you think suits you.[/size] [size=4]Whichever way you go, both the GB NX2 212T and the Berg CN212 are absolutely fantastic cabs so I'd forget what everyone else says and go with the one you prefer. [/size]

Having never been that bothered before in previous bands, we're now full on "uniformed" in Second City Soul, the functions band I'm in. We've put a lot of effort into the image of the band from a marketing and visual side of things and the stage wear is all part of the deal. When people are hiring you at considerable expense for important events such as weddings etc, rucking up in a pair of levis and an old t-shirt "because that's how we roll" isn't either professional or appropriate. IMHO. We've gone the full monty, even with the "corporate" polo's and hoodies that we use when we're setting up and breaking down (easier for clients and staff to identify the band when we arrive at venues) and TBH, it's made such a difference to how we feel as a unit and how we approach each gig. In fact, I've even gone as far as having my IEMs in the corporate "colours" (with my incoming 1964 Ears with the band logo). Detail, friends, details. My leads are always attached. Before I had the new floor mounted Sony wireless, I always used to run through the effects loop but now, the "signal in" is always the Sony receiver which sits on the board itself. The last lead is out to the input of the amp and I've bound this (with a spare lead) to the extension socket that sits on the board to power the PSUs so that I always plug in the board at the amp end. When packing away, I just curl up this "umbilical" and put it back into the Swan Flight floor board case. Quick, easy and safe. With Russ on this. The DWZB30-GB is just fantastic value for shy under a couple of hundred bucks. I've used mine for half a dozen gigs now and it's fantastic.

Yeah. I've been chatting to the Custom IEM Company chap. The 1964 V6s look lush but I need to try them out. The sleeves on the SE535s are great but have been difficult to pull out easily. Really need an all in one unit and if I'm going to do that, I should really look at whether or not it's time for an "upgrade" to try and keep my position as band "IEM champion", especially with someone else now having a pair of SE535s. lol
