  1. I just use the cheap Behringer ones I bought on recommendation from here
  2. How do the jury feel About “filth” like this ? tier2 fail on the pickup, bridges aren’t signal path so I think you’re home Free on that one
  3. It’s not often that I agree with @tauzero but this time i do. Play across from the fifth string when it’s easier than using open strings, don’t expect to find uses for notes lower than E, they don’t come up that often
  4. I bought one from @Len_derby - I find it very useful, unless it has a huge body it really won’t compete volume-wise with an acoustic guitar, but it’s still audible for jamming
  5. That would not even be a question with a guitarist. They’d draw all over it with crayons
  6. He might be able to sign post you to someone
  7. Amateurs compared with coalvile natives, I assure you.
  8. I’ll be back in a few minutes …
  9. Is that the one you’re doing for Barbie?
  10. We have Canadians too @Staggering on posts regularly with scenic photos
  11. I’ve never been that excited about a violin bass - I hope you cleaned up
  12. Unless you’re one of those older drivers lying about your eyesight, in which case you’ll be starting to see the blurry thing near the other blurry things with what look like blurry wheels, and the other blurry things that are talking and getting in your damned way ooo - cross-thread hookup … look at me 👍
  13. That’s not actually saying much alternatively you could be saying that we are mostly older than God.:)
  14. How does one “gently lambast”? it’s like “lightly deep-fried”
  15. @Bluewine @dclaassen @Mustangbass87 amongst many others
  16. I get that. One small step at a time
  17. Ok but he is clearly on top of the fret. @lvrossem hold the note down for as long as you want it to sound / it sounds naturally before dying and then release it faster. I keep my finger on it a moment longer to stop it ringing.
  18. I agree that styles differ but Let’s just keep it simple, he’s watching lots of beginner vids, they’ll all say “just behind the fret”.
  19. Just put your fingers right behind the fret rather than on it, and practice using as little pressure as possible with your right** hand to press the string - a light touch when playing will tire your hand less. The idea is that the string is held down just enough that it vibrates between the metal fret and the metal saddle at the other end. ** since you’re a leftie
  20. You’re welcome here we have lots of US members and it’s much nicer here than TalkBass
  21. They don’t. Try what @Stub Mandrel says above all will become clear - this is just a phase. All of this will be second nature in the very near future - I promise that No one is born able to play bass guitar just like no one is able to drive instantly
  22. Back bow or a high fret are common causes Or poor technique possibly but maybe make a video and upload it so we can help you better ?
  23. No, nothing will break just undo what you did, then re-evaluate And always mark your start point using a sharpie I advise you to talk to @Hellzero or @RonC and work it through slowly, or take their very gracious offer to assist you. this is one task that’s actually quite simple to do when you understand it
  24. Regular dust will do but it has to be seasoned and blessed by Fender pixies
