1.
After Le Ann Womack left Womack and Womack and Womack, they reverted to Womack and Womack. .
As the new album had just been released Bobby joined so the name could remain for the upcoming world tour.
One Direction used to rehearse in a studio on a One Way Street. When asked to come up with a name that's all they could think of.
I heard that One Direction have turned into a jazz improv group called No Direction, Man.
 2.
Sounds a bit Jaco-esque - possibly a fretless - if it's a keyboard it doesn't sound like one!! Too many bass guitarisms in there - I've heard that bass sound before - Gerald Veasley/Jimmy Haslip?
Sounds like the bass solo could well be Demonterious Lawrence (aka Detoxxx). He has played bass for Kendrick Lamar on previous recordings as had Stephen 'Thundercat' Bruner. Both are top bass players in Hip Hop. Not bad bad for an old fella eh? Why don't 'the kids' on here know this stuff?
 3. On of the unsung greats of jazz........ http://youtu.be/_Qc3VaXtW5M
 4. This is Koono playing the bass on keyboards sampled from Bireli Lagrene's Jazz Bass. http://youtu.be/gB8-u09o02Y
 5.
Good call mate. Before Denmark Street, the music shops were in Shaftsbury Avenue, they moved to to Denmark Street for the cheaper rent. I reckon it'd be good for the shops to move as a whole where the rent isn't crazy - but still easy to access for tourists and suchas they need that footfall. Idealisticly speaking of course!
....and of course many many years ago Denmark Street was residential. The music publishers first moved above shops in the 1920s and the boom time for them came in the 1950s then the music shops moved in. What is nostalgic for us isn't for others and later generations. I have no idea whether the redevelopment is a good idea or not but it's just the way the city evolves and moves on.
 6.
and wouldn't go to a starbucks if there were any other suppliers of tea around.
I'm sure i saw somewhere the other day that sold tea and wasn't called Starbucks.
 7. The main change for me is that not too many sell nowadays. Plenty of tyre kickers but not many wanting to part with any cash.
 8.
In the very unlikely event that I encounter Mr Daltrey I shall try to work your views into the conversation. Somewhere between Wilko, Hendrix at Monterey and Shel Talmy I'll let him know that someone on the internet is thinking about him
Couldn't you work it into the conversation around the price of fish down at his trout farm?
 9.
True, but this is a UK forum
10/10 for that.
 10.
My summary of Mr Daltrey's observation in no way reflects my personal perception of such global conditions as may obtain either to the detriment or to the benefit of all (or some) peoples or individuals*. * Errors and omissions excepted; alternative perceptions may be substituted if display items are unavailable at time of purchase; transient ghastliness not included; no remorse, no retreat, no refunds.
in that case please feel free to pass on my views to Mr Daltrey if you ever see him. I would do this myself but my hobbies do not include either watching old rock stars from yesteryear prance about on stage or trout fishing so it's unlikely our paths will ever cross.
 11.
It's not in such a sh*tty state as it was when Mr Daltry was growing up just after WW2.
Is that talking from personal experience? If you were then it's always nice to share experiences with a fellow ration book holder.
 12.
Let us examine the bare bones of Mr Daltrey's contention: * That the world is in a sh*t state
I think you'll find that the world has always been in a sh*t state.
 13.
Yes I did, I passed on a message to Billy Apple regarding a custom pickguard I'd paid Howard to make in March (few days before he got ill).
I have also passed on a message to him re a pickguard Howard was making me in May.
 14.
I can see it fine
Me too since i invested in these............
 15.
When I click on the links all I get is a link to sign into "Yahoo" !! (?????).
Perhaps that's what is 'magic'.
 16. I really don't like Rap but i do like a bit of Hip Hop but think that the op made the same old mistake that many others before here on BC of posting something that isn't Prog Rock or by Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, ELO and 40 years old. Despite being 60 i'm glad to say that my ears are always open to new music and that music didn't come to a grinding halt for me after Dark Side Of The Moon or Stairway To Bloody Heaven.
 17. Nice smooth stuff but i don't hear anything funky at all. The videos i've seen of them they seem to be either doing what the Brecker Brothers were doing 30+ years ago or the same old smooth jazz revival that's been doing the rounds for the last couple of years. It's all bit too smooth for me.
 18. Love the bit at 1:25:15............ I wasn't sure whether he was going to play it or ride it.
 19.
Young people nowadays, huh?
20.
I'm embarrassed to say I started with the intention of listening to the entire piece - but had to skip to the last minute.
My Nan was a bit like that when as a nipper i'd force here to hear the latest vinyl offering from those cheeky mop topped lads from Liverpool. I'd put the first track on but within seconds she'd ask me to put the needle on the last few grooves.
 21. The Isley Brothers 'That Lady' is obviously the main sample but is the bass solo by Thundercat? (Stephen Bruner).
 22. There is no 'best' courier. To me the best one is the one who manages to successfully deliver the latest parcel i've sent. When they are good they are good but when they are bad they are very, very bad. Just pick one that suits your price and schedule etc and hope for the best!
 23. Anyone remember them? Got any early LPs or thoughts on them?
