1. Placed my order only a couple left at the lower price now from what Alex told me.
2. Got a hint of a fatter EB0/3 with the new edges I like it always had a soft spot for that design.
3. Head on hold as may have traded! Cab still up for sale. £325.
4. 325ono new cab on the way so make me an offer!!!!! This is a cracking little cab has a few scrapes and marks but still very presentable. Runs at 8ohms with 600watts. Can make a Powerful setup with the right head. Here is the blurb from Orange on the cab. OBC212 HIGH POWER, ISOBARIC DESIGN Building on the success of our SmartPower series, the new OBC212 is our best isobaric bass cabinet yet. This clever design positions one speaker behind the other, creating an airtight, phase coherent chamber for outstanding projection in a more compact enclosure than a traditional 2×12. Featuring a pair of 12” neodymium Eminence speakers, 600 Watts of power handling and parallel speakon jacks the OBC212 is a perfect mate for a wealth of bass amplifier heads.
5. For 1099 you could always spend a little bit more and get a Dingwall Combustion or NG2 37inch scale will drop tune to Low C with ease.
6. Personally I think it's good (could have been a lot worse) I think they just sound like they are enjoying playing together again. Browns solo stuff had plenty of deep and meaningful content so this doesn't need to be that! Mani is on form and his playing with the roses and primal scream has always had a certain something and he is at his best locked in with Reni! I look forward to seeing them in June and hope the album builds from this.
7. So there is a small old school guitar shop in Hanley Stoke on Trent the guy has lots of secondhand gear in and usually a few basses. I popped in on lunch a few times if I could when working in the area. He had a habit of putting some of his own gear on display on the walls and one of these occasions I spotted a Gordon Smith Tbird it was his and not for sale at the time but he let me have a play and it was a real beauty! Played really well and sounded massive.
8.
Here you go matey! http://www.guitar-bass.net/features/private-collections-nick-smith-bass-desires/
some serious temptation in that collection!
9.
You could add a 212 for extra boom, and/or look at the orange tube amp, if that's the sound you like. Personally I wouldn't dismiss the entire team as it's winning!
I have thought about this but the 212 is great but still quite heavy so if I get another I could prob get a 4x10 as a single option instead. Plus they are still 500pounds ish new.
10.
This Amazing rig...and it looks like the rig that the house band in heaven uses: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/284748-matamp-gt-200-mk1-mint/page__pid__3047596#entry3047596
. love this but it's out my price range but if I had the money!
11. So I think (finally) I have solved my Bass GAS and I'm happy but this new found joy is making me think more and more about my amp. A year to 18months ago I downsized my gear to a single cab and head Orange Bass Terror 1000 and OBC 212 a cracking setup small and compact but still loud in a band situation. Now I have moved house and areas so not playing in a band yet so my thinking is its the ideal time to fine the elusive ultimate rig. Old school with a nice cab but full valve not hybrid as I really miss my old valve amps (VBA400 and Mesa D180 have both been owned in the past) so what should I be looking for or should I just stick with the compact setup?
12.
Cheers Mick! Thanks guys! As noted above, the shop will be fully up and running by the end of this month, will be by appointment only so do contact me if you want to come check it out! I have 5 Enfield basses in stock for you to fall in love with! Contact: [email protected] 01733 311469 or 07961 880770 Cheers!!! Nick
just out of interest do you have any info on gear you will be stocking apart from the Enfield stuff (thinking amp wise)
13. Under an hour from me now I have moved so I may have to drop in at some point.
14. Still got my 64 EB0 that's been Birched at some point in its life (guessing 70s) so it's kinda like an EB3 but the bridge pickup I guess it would sound amazing through this! As would my guild.
15. This is lovely if I hadn't of just brought a guild I could have been tempted. That rear pickup tone!!!!!!
16. Just move to Market Harborough area. Would like to find bluesy/garage rock type band to play with but I'm open to all styles. Own gear and transport but do have work commitment involving some call out so occasionally will work weekends and evenings.
