1. If the guitarist suddenly decides to take full control, despite the fact YOU started the band, and YOU had the initial guitar ideas and didn't want to play bass this time. I'm still in said band but it won't last long....music is just dull so far.
2.
Thoroughly recommend Bass Central......... Last time I was there I went in for strings but came out with a Spector...!!! So be careful.... 😃😃😃
Think I might know the answer to this, but how exactly do you get one home?? I would love a new Musicman guitar as they are the same price in US dollars as they are £, but I wouldn't want it in the cargo hold. I'm guessing you also end up paying a bomb if they decide to add charges when you bring in it to the UK?
3. Oh wow, I had no clue Bass Central were nearby! Thanks both. I'll probably just browse and try a few rarer brands of guitar and bass that we don't see here, hopefully the new Musicman guitars and basses as well. Might be tempted with a Tech 21 pedal as their prices in the USA are much lower. It seems Bass Central have some amazing gear in.
4. I'm off to Orlando, Florida later this year, and whilst last time, I did not bother even looking in music stores, I might take a bit of time out this time as it won't be as rushed a holiday. Is it worth bringing back anything in terms of smaller bass and guitar technology? There are a few American-made pedals I'd like, and perhaps even a new micro amp if it has voltage switching. What is the deal with pedals? I realise standard Boss pedals take a 9V battery, but in terms of giving them power from a pedal board, (and forgive me for being stupid) are there any differences with pedals? Cheers
5. The closest I've got to thinking 'hey, this can get close to the Trace sound' is the Genz Benz Shuttlemax amps. Genzler make the new Magellan 800, which will no doubt also get close to that Trace sound if it is similar to the Shuttlemax.
6. The issue with Limelight doing a version is that he would probably struggle to get the same spec, including the Pure Vintage pickups, for the same price and hold the value.
7. I usually know within 30 minutes whether a bass will be right for me. If it passes that it stays in my collection. I've not had this much fun on a bass in years.
8. I'd be tempted by a 2x12. It is a shame the Genz Benz NX2 212T cabs aren't made now, but 'Genzler' now make a similar but more expensive version. As JTUK noted, the Aguilar DB212 is a lovely sounding cabinet. It is by no means light, or small, but it sounds fantastic.
9.
I love my shuttlemax, knobs everywhere!
Exactly. I also have very minimal EQ amps like the Streamliner and Orange AD200b. All varieties are fun.
10. I've only briefly tried the RW Jazz, but I tend to prefer a slightly fatter wider neck despite having small hands. I learnt on a P bass so a Jazz nut can cramp my hands sometimes. This bass doesn't feel like it has a super skinny neck to me.
11. PMT seem to be doing very well, but please sort the website! EDIT - It is better than it used to be!
12. Don't regret the past guys! I'm 'lucky' enough to have managed to still get involved in music a lot as a part time hobby and play/tour when younger, and still study law. I just spaced everything out...didn't rush off to Uni at 18,waiting 2 years, didn't rush to law school, waited 2 years etc. I even had a few years before I actually trained. So, I'm older, but I've enjoyed A LOT. Basses? My 'most expensive' bass is a Musicman Classic Stingray 5 in Natural/maple board. It plays and sounds every bit as good as the money I paid. Wonderful instrument. Unless I came into serious money, I doubt I'd EVER spend more than £1700 on bass. I'd rather have lots of mid range £800-1400 than a couple of £4k instruments. I imagine one of the collectors on here has the most expensive bass, and I imagine it is a vintage Fender. Either that, or a super high end Fodera.
13.
If Jason spent the day with it with the owner, guessing that means one of two things: 1) A CS limited run of '59 Protos 2) The owner wants a replica to gig. Very cool though! Si
Imagine having the kind of money to be able to walk in and just say 'I want a replica'. That is when things are great in life!
14. It is lovely. I wonder what it sounds like! They should definitely consider a re-issue special edition of something like that.
15. I've never seen that. Is that the actual prototype or is it a master build custom shop? I presume its a prototype? Looks VERY clean.
16. Mine is going nowhere. I know we ALL say this, but I've not had a Jazz bass this comfortable, ever. So I intend to use it as much as possible and keep it.
17. 9lbs is decent.
18.
https://instagram.com/p/BH0OkmDgsl9/ Ooh. Shell pink MM.
ON MY! They should offer a MIM Roadworn version of this with a good quality Musicman style pickup + pre-amp. I'd pay a good £1000+ for that.

20. See - GuitarGuitar need to be more on the ball with things like that. They did well with my order as it obviously came straight in from Fender, quick check by them, straight to me. They shouldn't be misplacing gig bags with brand new basses...and really shouldn't be sending it without it as inside my gig bag was a very thick layer of padding that Fender seem to add for shipping. I know it is a minor thing, but still. You should have a gig bag, handful of bass tags, and a small sealed bag with leaflets, one being about nitro finishes. Their Ghent store is new isn't it? Wonder why they've gone for that...not sure how Brexit will affect it.
21. Some shops showing pre-order, so they must be coming back!
22. I imagine they just didn't take off. The expensive relic'd ones looked awesome, but lets face it, most people aiming for that would get a Custom Shop P bass as the resale is much easier.
23. Maybe the initial run was a brief test, and now the main production will start? Still weird that Europe had these before Fender even announced them! I checked my box and the shipping from Fender was May (serial matches the bass so it's the right shipping box etc). Weird! But, I much prefer that to products that aren't available for a year (like the Peavey micro amps).
24. Hi all I fancy something fun and new effects pedal wise. I think a synth pedal could be really fun to use. Anyone tried one of these yet? Extremely tweakable for a small pedal.
25. Not so far off a Genz Shuttlemax in layout/size.
