1. I bet these are superb, but I feel they may struggle in the UK market with the current pricing. That is a huge shame. If these were priced just a little more than a USA Standard P or J, I think things might be different.
2. I have the SD-1W, BD-2W, DM-2W and VB-2W. I went a bit Boss mad recently. I've not tried ONE with bass yet!
3. Sounds great! I still like the TC RH amps, despite what everyone moans about. I do not need huge low end, ever! It sounds awful on stage.

Boss CE-2W

Whilst this is maybe more for the guitarists, I will be buying one to use on guitar and bass. http://www.bossus.com/products/ce-2w/ Demos sound fab! Great work Boss, plus Made in Japan. I have four of their other Waza pedals, and they are extremely good. The DM-2W!!!!
5. Marr is still one of my favourite guitar players. No fuss, no mad solos, just very unique and melodic.
6. They are just as versatile as a Precision bass, if not more so. A HH or HS will cover more ground than a Jazz....IMO.
7. Is that a discontinued colour? If so, you may have to go used. Sorry
8. Going Sunday night...I'm not far from the centre so I'll be in the city from 12 ish for a few nice IPA's. I'm going to pop out into the city on Sat night to soak up the atmosphere....
9. What an amazing colour. Where did you order from? I love my Bongo basses!
10. Looks ace. Prince tribute?
11. If I was him, I'd basically want the best boutique Stingray made for me, whether that was through someone like Sadowsky, or whether Musicman would work with him to make a one off, but not change the name of the bass. I do like the Modulus basses but the Ray's seem less 'clinical' and warmer.
12. JK IS getting better. It's difficult to go in and take that place. JF is my favourite 'lead' guitar player...I tend to prefer anti-heroes like Cobain/Coxon and Marr, not flashy players, but JF is SO good at melody with solos, it is unreal. JK is starting to get comfy and funky with them now, and it shows. He just needs more confidence, which will come. His backing vocals are picking up as well...a massive part of JF's presence in a band. I've ALWAYS thought Flea sounds better with a bass with a sweet-spot humbucker. It just works. Underpins yet cuts, which is why I like Stingrays so much. His tone got lost with a Jazz....it just didn't bite. Cool bass though. Why a company hasn't recently picked him up and made a big deal about a signature model is beyond me; he is one of the most famous modern bass players and a credit to bass in general.
13. I'm not having a huge dig, but in 2016, if you want to survive in business, no matter WHAT your age, you have to be tech savvy and deal with messages and adverts on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/your website. Not everyone wants to ring and spend 10 mins explaining when they could type exactly what they want to ask and email it in. Emails are just as important as letters to a business, hence 'electronic mail'.
14. Looks decent! I love a new bass, but something about a classic looking bass looking used is nice.
15. I think I know which chap/shop you mean. If it is where I think, I haven't been yet, but I live fairly close and he does have some nice gear in. Shame
16. You could try some of their new cobalt flats!
17. I find I never really find music stale. However, writing as a band is one way of keeping things fresh, so I would, especially now, always work with bands that write music.
18. I spent years giving my Fender MIJ P bass a LOT of gigging in rough pubs with punk bands. It was barely noticeable that it had been gigged heavily apart from a few paint dings it got from leaving it on a stand when I went outside. I am not 100%, but from what I can recall (it was years ago) a slightly older jealous lad (always wanted a decent P bass) dinged it on purpose....that was what I was told. You don't have to beat it up! You can play it hard and dig in, you can be in punk band and jump around to your heart's content. Most of the big bands who beat their instruments up get a new one from the sponsor and yes, when you are in a huge band making money from being in a band, it is a lot more of a tool, and probably provides more memories as you are literally using it to make a career.
19. Depends on how many people have been in there, played it, maybe played it with a belt on, or maybe even knocked the headstock by total accident. Not only that, something hung up for 6 months + is not really brand new, but obviously still completely good enough to buy, but maybe not at full whack.
20. I don't think, personally, that it makes a huge difference to when you have it on...
21. Is it me or are those upcharges very reasonable in the USA?
22. ...and I don't think that colour sold that well, as I saw stock sitting around on UK webstores for a long time. Acquired taste me thinks.
23. One thing to note, I know for bassists it feels like they've moved over to more concentration on new guitars, but I bought an Albert Lee HH and it is one hell of a stunning guitar. I wanted a nice humbucker loaded guitar, but not Gibson, and I don't trust the Gibson QC for the price, so I opted for an EBMM. I would definitely buy another EBMM guitar without a doubt, just not one of the more shred type guitars. I really like the St Vincent model and the new Stingray/Cutlass models.
24. Nice. Not something I'd go for personally, but it's great to see a new PDN. I bet it looks amazing on a Bongo.
