  1. If I tried to sing and play, I would lose my band and any hope of gigging 😁 Feel for ya! That's a bit gutting.
  2. @Rich - any idea of the key bits of his signal chain to get that tone?
  3. First full band rehearsal for us last night since the start of lockdown. Could tell everyone was delighted to be making music together again!
  4. Here you go...
  5. So I've retested as follows: Elrick - twist the transmitter and you hear a definite "pop" on the amp & cab with the WL-20 cutting out / back in. Normal lead doesn't cut out at all when twisted the full 360. Spector - no cut out of the WL-20 when rotated. So for me this is just an issue (so far) with the Elrick and I'm guessing something to do with the internal jack lead in the Elrick. What's interesting is that other folk have previously reported issues with their active basses with the WL-20 and I wonder if they are getting the same thing?
  6. Very true about the pin. But it stays depressed at all rotations and the light stays on throughout. So I suspect that there is something going on with the internal lead socket. Be interesting if anyone else has this same behaviour (or if any other issues) with their WL-20s? Btw mine behaved fine at rehearsal tonight (and I made sure they transmitter was the right way up!)
  7. Just checked - nothing obvious. Looks the same all the way round on the WL-20. Maybe something internal on the jack socket then?
  8. Boss WL-20s - couple of earlier questions on this thread about using with an active bass. Spotted an interesting thing (fortunately just before trying them out for the first time at a band rehearsal this evening!) - if the jack is inserted in the active bass I'm using today with the Boss logo on facing up it works beautifully. Rotate it 180O and it's silent! Dunno if anyone else has experienced anything similar?
  9. I don't recall having it on this thread...but as you say I'm old and of poor memory 😂
  10. Ah, you are SA's core target market then 😂
  11. Just wondering if it would be too much to ask for SA to add something like this display to their pedals? Save a lot of angst and extra costs of midi etc. for us bass players and we could focus on actually playing bass rather than addressing shortcomings like a lack of basic display, in already expensive kit. Or am I just being too old fashioned?

    Boss SY-1

and then make sure to make a note of your settings when you do find one! Unlike FI or C4, there is no ability to store "filter tweaks" on the SY-1 over and above the factory provided 10 x 11 = 121 basic presets. Whilst that is a lot of basic presets, there are then several twin filter settings you can have for each of these basic 121 presets, so that's a vast number of options!
  13. Recently been a little bit blown away by this black beauty:
  14. An unsigned one sold on eBay for just north of £2k a week or so back. A screenshot of the sale was posted on this thread. Goodness knows what a signed one is worth now!
  15. You'll be getting a non reversed Sandberg VM4...
  16. Did you consider an OC-5? Nails the OC-2 sound whilst providing improved tracking and additional octave up. And all for a fraction of the price of some of the other other OC-2 clones! But I guess if you already have an OC-2 and you're happy with it, then probably no real point?
  17. Been around for a decade and looks like it's stood the test of time very well!
  18. Here's a couple of mine...
  19. @PatrickJ - brilliant, mate. I'd like to give that a 😂 as well, but I'm restricted to one emoji!
  20. @SumOne funny you should say that: my query was prompted by this YT clip which I had a listen to earlier and I couldn't hear any real difference between up and down positions! 😁
  21. Sounds like it's "fatter" in the down position rather than the up position then? No worries, just curious as to what the changes are and how they're justifying a 50% price hike from £40 to £60 for the pedal. But still pretty good value as you say.
  22. Cheers - so effectively an HPF in Voice down position on Mojomojo?
  23. We're all a function of our experience of what is likely to break down and which will shape our attitude to risk. It's very similar to folks' views on home insurance and the level of cover people take out. In my case, I do actually have spares of pretty much most key gear i.e. (too many!) basses, recently acquired spare gigging amp, couple of cabs etc. But I play pretty much daily at home and much less frequently out on the road by comparison, although I'm probably doing a middling number of gigs by BC standards. So for me if a piece of kit is likely to fail then it's most likely to happen at home, so I'm comfortable that if it all checks out and not showing any signs of being temperamental pre-gig then that works for me and my bands. There are plenty of pro bass players I know on BC who have not had any issue over decades of gigging with their basses (refer to the OP's previous thread for examples) and are comfortable with not bothering with a spare bass for a local pub gig but might take one to a more distant wedding. And others who will take spares of all gear to all gigs. I personally don't consider either to be more "pro" or more "evolved" as bass-players as one earlier post suggested. They're just basing their decisions on their own experience and attitudes to risk, just as some folk don't want to start gigging until the autumn due to Covid-19, whereas others can't wait to get back out as soon as we are allowed to.
  24. Good stuff! You seem to also have stumbled on the Iron Law of BC threads - starting one can prove costly on the wallet. Well that's certainly been my experience! Maybe best not to start a "Do I need a spare pedal board" thread 😁
  25. Out of interest did you get a spare amp, too, from your previous thread on that topic?
