  1. In case you two want to connect... GLWTS
  2. And there you go, the strength of the brand: you all instantly recognised the amp without any need for a logo! Not sure who is having the last laugh here... 😄
  3. We just paid to get into this venue... but just discovered what the bass amp is. We're kinda thinking we should get out, cos obviously the bass is gonna sound shi*te.
  4. I'll happily take this off your hands for £50!
  5. Not sure that the world needs another pub rock band for that matter either does it? But does that mean we all give up and just leave the field open to the bands that came before us? I'm with Ped on this: I applaud firms that are willing to have a go and take a risk and bring products to market by investing their hard earned cash in new product development. Some of them will succeed - by listening to customers and finding out what they want / need from what actually sells. It's the easiest thing in the world to snipe from the sidelines while doing nothing creative or innovative ourselves.
  6. You're right, let's just all stick to what we have, because it's broadly fine, and not bother with competition and choice. After all "if it ain't broke..." Oh and, while we're at it, can someone please call Apple and Samsung and suggest they cancel their next line of smartphones as they really are a bit pointless?
  7. All been said before: Harry is a top guy and a pleasure to deal with; and I'm loving the pedal I've just received from him!
  8. ** but the Fwonk interacted very nicely with normal drive eg both SA Aftershock and Grizzly Bass.
  9. Or alternatively a decent mild dirt pedal? E.g. TC Mojomojo at the budget end (which I guess would fit very nicely with the value for money theme that the Bugera is bringing to the party), but seems to be liked by many and doesn't lose low end, or something like the Grizzly Bear if you're after a broader tonal sweep and something a little more sophisticated (but new, the Grizzly costs as much as the amp! )
  10. Exactly the same design principle as this!
  11. Just got a Fwonkbeta today and have had a bit of time to A/B it against the excellent MXR BEF. Initial impression of the Fwonkbeta is that it's very good! It's got a broader range of sounds than I can get from my MXR BEF. I guess that's entirely down to it being LPF (Fwonk) rather than BPF (MXR BEF) I've managed pretty quickly to find something on the Fwonk (clip 2) that gets to 95% of my fav BEF setting (clip 1) See first pic for dial settings. (Hmmm...or am I already thinking that the MXR can get to 95% one of my favourite settings on the Fwonk?! ) Interestingly the Fwonk is less reactive to a gated fuzz (clip 4) than the BEF is (clip 3)** But the Fwonk goes MUCH more subby than the MXR, if you dial the "Juice" down. Kinda feels like it has a touch of DOD Meatbox and you can see my Keeley Bassist Limiter lighting up when I've done so (and that's after benefiting from a Thumpinator at the start of my chain), Clip 5 is MXR (same setting) with an OC10 Clip 6 is the Fwonk with Juice dialled down (second pic for setting) paired with an OC10 Filter 1 - MXR BEF.mp3 Filter 2- Fwonk.mp3 Filter 3- MXR & Mastotron.mp3 Filter 4- Fwonk & Mastotron.mp3 Filter 5 - MXR & OC10.mp3 Filter 6 - Fwonk II & OC10.mp3
  12. Oh dear this madness seems to be contagious and spreading throughout leading Japanese makers. Just praying that Yammy stays immune...😀
  13. That statement certainly applies to John Entwistle of the Who. With due respect, it doesn't to dUg King's-X-who Pinnick Btw - I'm absolutely not knocking the Tech21 dUg pedal - I've never owned and have to fess to not having any temptation at all to do so. I know you (and others) love it and that's a pretty big recommendation about that piece of gear.
  14. Just interested to know whether you've tried a Grizzly Bass dB. Not cheap I know, so not what the OP is after...
  15. Ok looks like you guys got there in one with a drive pedal recommendation. Which has got to be a WORLD first!! 😂 Btw @Jakesterthe Mojomojo is great value, retains low end really well, and seems particularly appropriate if you're used to the TC Tubedrive.
  16. I prefer soul kitchen. Hmmm well Blues Kitchen is already taken...maybe an opportunity for some light warm and cheap French fries somewhere here 😀 Are you still on your fourth Aggie Agro monsieur Le @totorbass?
