1. I sold an MTD a few weeks ago and it's now back up at nearly double the price!
2. You could try this guy, don't know how close this is mind you. SMP Artizan on Facebook. Really nice bloke, really knows his stuff.
3. I'd life to do Black Dog as it was one of the first songs I had to learn for a first rehearsal, it didn't go very well because of nerves but now I would like to play it as I've overcome the nerves but I'm with a different band (all originals).
4. Not really into the aged thing but that looks good.
5. A knowledge of scales has helped me to be able to play along to most tunes without too much trouble. As said, once you figure out the key of the song you can then work out the bass line pretty easily in most cases.
6. http://www.customworldguitarparts.com/default/gitaar-halzen/jazz-bass-maple-neck-20-frets-pearl-block-inlay-with-binding.html I have one without the binding, not bad for the price, well finished but slightly chunkier than a Fender jazz neck.
7.
Any love for lighter fluid?
Best thing I've ever used for cleaning guitars. Not on nitro though.
8. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tilia Google is your friend.
9. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221525273443 Anyone after a Spector?
10. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ESP-LTD-PT-4-JAZZ-BASS-PANCHO-TOMASELLI-SIGNATURE-EMG-PICKUPS-/191277566541?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item2c89080a4d Don't know if anyone would be interested.
11. I hate it at shows, drives me nuts.I remember the days when you were searched on the way into the NEC and told no cameras or recording equipment. You could actually watch the show!
12. I used to charge £25.00 for what he's offering. It's about an hours work.
13.
a big +1 for the Pro Series. I recently also bought a PS Corvette & was so impressed with it i then bought a PS Thumb bass which is the best bass i have ever played, was a bargain at £708 too. I much prefer it to any bass i have previously owned so would highly recommend one.
Yep, been eyeing up a Thumb myself.
14. I recently purchased a Corvette Pro Series from Thoman and is easily the most comfortable and well balanced bass I've played. Great sound. Great fit and finish. Considering selling some off now as nothing else gets played now.
15. Rush - Exit Stage Left Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath Motörhead - No sleep til Hammersmith UFO - Strangers in the Night GNR - Appetite For Destruction
16.
Ah! Why doesn't it run through the body, never seen seen one "externally" wired before, and I'm sure it it wouldn't be originally made that way?
It was quite common for Fender to run the ground wires externally, probably all original.
17. Band practice Tuesday the head (played through the studios Ashdown 4x10) was perfect all night. Seemed a lot louder than before, only needed to get to just under half way and that was with two guitars and a loud drummer.
18. Using a Genz Benz focus 1x15. Haven't found another to go with it yet, not making them anymore I believe. Been using a TC BG250 which is plenty loud enough for me at the moment.
19. Came back today repaired, fault gone, extremely loud now. Will give it a go at band practice tomorrow.
20. You could try this..... http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/frome/2014 Not sure how you would go about getting a slot though.
21.
I throughly endorse Dingus' explanation! I remember when I was an avid NME/MM reader in the early/mid '90s, there wasn't the big deal made of 'Glasto' (hate that abbreviation) in the press. It was just one of the festivals. In fact, from memory, there was far more talk of Reading and newer ones like Phoenix. Glastonbury was a bit old-skool, a bit crusty! I don't recall much being made of it, or at least nowhere near like it is now.
I remember when it was Pilton pop festival
