  1. Open minded completely on trades. Prefer not to post but it does come with a hardcase so may be possible at buyers expense and risk.
  2. Yes I love the 'tronics on this - the toggle switch is really useful. Pickups are great !
  3. It was just a much better bass for not much more money. Also given the price drop at Peach, resale on the Corts would definitely be heading in the wrong direction.
  4. Just a shoutout to David at Retrovibe for making me a custom truss rod cover for my L'il Richard bass. Obviously this was a small job with little if any profit in it but great customer service. Looking forward to buying another Retrovibe bass in the near future.
  5. I tried to knock them down another £600 on the Flip Flop coloured Thumb they have in there currently (reduced by £1200) and they said no ( what terrible customer service ! 😆 ) Seriously - they have always been brilliant for anything I've bought from them in the past and the best product videos ?( Although I do like Dagan's too )
  6. I've just bought one ( had Gas for it since release) and there is nothing wrong with it at all. I watched the vids on Youtube with the biassed guy with an axe to grind and it almost put me off getting one - glad I paid no attention to him. Merchant City Music were brilliant during the purchase as they happily sent me photos of all of the bits that might have been cause for concern and allayed my fears. I bought 3 basses last week - this , the Reverend Mike Watt ( they need to do a Black Grape model) and a Lakland 55-02 - all brilliant basses in their own ways but the Mike Kerr was the one I couldn't put down.
  7. I px'ed mine on Saturday back to the guy who sold me it against a mint Lakland 55-02. He's just sold it again on ebay for £600 - so I guess we both did well out of that deal given the falling prices.
  8. Hi Bernard, Sorry to hear about your wrist issues - do they mean you can't play at all ? If you get a chance could you please post some pictures of the bass i.e. not the studio shots. Regards, Ed

  10. The K's - My new favourite band. They put so much effort into trying to get their newly released album I wonder if the world knows ? to Number 1 last week. Really down to earth group of lads.
  11. Excellent condition Ibanez SR650 in Antique Stained Burst. New set of Chromes added. Great Nordy's tone and lovely Ibanez slim neck Collection from L30 Liverpool preferred but could meet up within reason. Basses incoming so I may have boxes to be able to post potentially at buyers risk and cost. Not looking for trades ideally - but you never know if it's in mint condition and interesting !
  12. I used hydrate on the fretboard when I got mine as it looked a little dry. I then tried a little bit on the back of the body to see how it would come up and it looked wonderful, so I sparingly gave it a once over. It now has a very subtle shine but it does make the grain on the thing really pop.
  13. I have a 4 string for sale if anybody is after one. Will post it in marketplace when i get a mo.Put flats on mine too.
  14. Well I decided on a shortscale but couldn't decide between a Mike Kerr and a Mike Watt so recklessly bought both. I'll post how I get on with them. Merchant City Music in Glasgow were brilliant- great service and a decent discount unlike Guitar Guitar who wanted £210 deposit to send me some photos of a Sandberg. It was refundable but completely ridiculous and lost them the sale.
  15. I put chromes on mine and they sound great. In no hurry to swap out the Barts either.
  16. There is a great kiesel video about stringing headless basses on youtube showing how to get the ends tidy.
  17. Any with artificial ageing - the stupidest concept ever IMHO.
  18. I think that's part of my problem as I'm not tied to a specific type. I like strange and quirky, basses that are like works of art , simple controls probably going forward. The tones I can get out of the filters on my ACG are amazing but sometimes simple volume and tone is enough.
  19. Hi Folks, Retirement isn't too many years away so its probably my last real opportunity to buy me a high(ish) end bass. ( Which I don't really need !) I've been scanning the markets and fancy in no particular order, Alusonic Django - Look absolutely amazing but on the youtube vids they sound a bit sterile Warwick thumb BO - had one before so know I like them ( but paid £850 for a mint one) now they want £3800 Sandberg California TM4 Nighthawk Plus - its grey or matte copper - what more can you say ! Sandberg Ida Neilson - this would have definitely been the one but for the ageing which I'm not sure I can live with ( its like going to get a new car and asking them to scratch and dent it before driving it off the forecourt) Spector Euro - sold one for £600 so again difficult to part with the cash they want now and the shorties.... Fender Mike Kerr - love it but mixed reviews Reverend MIke Watt - Watt Plower - it sparkles Vincent pony - the Vincents look great but don't know much about them. Also need to consider which will retain the most value when I need to sell it off just to eat ? If anybody has played any of these or suggest others ( I'm not a Fender / Ric/ Stingray guy)and want to weigh in an opinion to help me decide that would be great before I put miles on the car and go and try it. You can't trust any reviews online ( apart from Dood's !) I'm not tied to any particular genre and only play in the house so my pride and joy isn't going to get destroyed or stolen down the local . Ed.
  20. I feel like I'm not worthy to even look at it ! What a bass !
