  1. Played it through headphones for hours last night and I love it. The sound quality is fabulous and the presets are very usable and sensible - barely any widdly noise filler patches. So intuitive to use - having watched a few youtube vids was enough to show me how to do the things I needed so I didn't look at the manual. It looks amazing too. Good call everybody above !
  2. My short scale Krell - Best bass I have ever owned bar none . Truly a masterpiece.
  3. Got one coming today to replace my B3N - hope its as good as the reviews say it is.
  4. I picked up one of these for £100 on Saturday. it had black nylon strings on it and it is nuts for the money.
  5. Bought the NYXL's with 2nd December delivery - great call for flagging these.
  6. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/134813295744?hash=item1f637fa480:g:Km0AAOSwV3plXJkY Get your offers in !
  7. Love my Schecter C4( in Toxic Venom !)it clanks with the best of them with the green neon DR's. The electrics in it are brilliant too.
  8. I finally got the guitar back today which has been repaired completely invisibly. They did mention the fact that they saw I had sold the guitar and that would have voided my warranty so they did the job as a goodwill gesture so I guess I can't complain, especially as the work which has been carried out was so good. They said it was the humidity in my house which caused the issue ,but I'm still not convinced about this given the numerous guitars and basses stored in the same place for decades with no issues. A happy ending of sorts.😀 I'll buy carbon next time !
  9. Still waiting for an update - emails being ignored . Dreadful customer service. Thet had actually gone to my spam folder - so my fault !
  10. Guitar has gone to Maton's UK distributor who is having it assessed by a luthier in London tomorrow. Fingers crossed they will replace it. 😬
  11. Hi, Thanks for all the replies so far. The photos below show the overhang - I'd say it was about 1mm so you can definitely feel it if you rubbed your finger over it. The joint itself seems to be solid and doesn't get worse if you put pressure on it. In terms of heat / humidity - the guitar is one in a row of guitars/ basses /other instruments kept in cases in a row in my bedroom. Nothing else in decades has ever been affected here. There is an ortega hydra twin neck uke in the same area with no adverse affects. To me instruments would have to endure much harsher environments and changes than this, so if that is what has caused it it wasn't fit for purpose IMHO. The worse thing is it may have always been like this and was only spotted by a pro luthier as part of a set up. The action on the guitar isn't terrible and tonally it sounds great and is flawless other than this.
  12. Yes it was a reputable buyer. I felt ashamed for selling it to him like this tbh. I contacted Maton who said the UK distributor would contact me but nothing from them so far. I'll give it the rest of the weekend and then get back in touch. On closer inspection there is more wrong than the gap - it is almost like the neck has moved a couple of mm to so created a small overhang. 😞
  13. Do you think Maton should replace the guitar given how little use its had and its cost ?
  14. I sold a guitar on ebay and the buyer has returned it as there is a space between the neck heel and body. The guitar is a quality Maton acoustic, has been stored in its case and has probably seen less than 20 hours of use. Googling I can't get a sense of whether this is just a cosmetic issue due to temperature or humidity or a more series structural problem. Anybody got any thoughts? ( Sorry for posting a guitar question !)
  15. I was just considering selling mine as I'm a bit overloaded with basses currently but then I played it again and the neck is absolutely to die for . If only they did it in a short scale.
  16. I've wanted one of these for ages but whenever they've come up the ones I've seen have always been a bit to dear for the condition they are in. They look like they should cost £400ish (unless it's the white one !)!
  17. My second Vox has just arrived - a black 2s - think I like the look of it even more than the red 1H . Set up was fine but I did note it had been done by the same QA inspector as the first ( Luis). Hope your replacement is a good one fretmeister as they are definitely a cracking little bass if you get a good one. I bought a Donner strat off ebay this week and had a similar problem - an unplayable neck, its a lovely looking thing in coral pink. I wanted to send it back and get a replacement and they've just told me to keep it and they'll send me another ! Now I have one to fettle with for free !
  18. Got a 1H Starstream today - for £199 it was a no brainer. It arrived and was set up really well. I oiled the fretboard and gave it a polish and will put new strings on it , but it's a perfect bass for noodling on the couch given its weight. I liked it so much I ordered a 2S and was considering a third to set up as a piccolo or as an upgrade project.
  19. Sorry Richard, That should have been a PM. No probs at all good luck with the sale. Ed
  20. That looks amazing. I had a Fibenare guitar and it was one of the finest built instruments I've ever owned.
