  1. Spotted this Retrovibe on FB marketplace and even better, it turned out to be for sale by a BC'er I'd dealt with before. Its a short scale with the stinger pre amp and obviously jazz pickups. I put Labella Mustang flats on it ( as its through body stringing) and its just a dream to play. The quality for the money is phenomenal and I'm seriously tempted to get another and string it piccolo.David has even agreed to do me an edstraker123 truss rod cover. Definitely one of my better buys.
  2. Hi Folks, Just wondered if anybody could recommend stain colours that would work well on a mahogany body beneath an oil finish. Photo's would be great if anybody has suggestions. Ed.
  3. It really puzzles me why people will pay a fortune for a gnarly old bass from the 70's when they could buy a pristine, better new one for a fraction of the cost.
  4. Not yet but my aim is to have as many basses as my age ( I'm not there yet by a long way !) and this policy always gives you scope for a new one each year.
  5. Hi Dan, I love your reviews so looking forward to it when you get the time. Hope you're feeling a bit better too ! Take it easy, Ed.
  6. I've got stuff for sale on here and ebay so will see how things go Plusnine.
  7. I've so wanted one of these forever but have just spent all of my money 😪
  8. I love it ! When I first got it out of the bag I thought the neck looked like a cricket bat with frets and would be straight back for sale but I put a set of chromes on it and haven't put it down since. Yes it probably would have been even better with Nordy's buy its fine. Can't wait to hear Doods review.
  9. ACG Krell shortscale in excellent condition. One small ding as shown on the last photo. Collection from Liverpool preferred or can meet up within reason or arrange postage at your own risk and expense. It does come with a hardcase. Spec as below : https://www.acguitars.co.uk/project/0269krell-4/ Ideally a sale but hit me up with any trade offers as long as your bass is pretty much mint and no ageing. Sandbergs / Warwicks are top of my current list of wants.
  10. It's really good ! I had the waza airs and I'm not noticing any difference in sound qaulity (using good headphones). I hated the drift on the waza airs so always disabled ithe spatial thingy anyway. Well worth the money IMHO.

  12. Peach Guitars had sold a black one off recently for £597 ! There are bargains out there !
  13. I've just snagged a used green one for £500 on ebay from a local seller I've bought off before. His basses are usually set up with the lowest action of any I've ever played so dying to get my hands on it tonight.
  14. Which maybe a good thing if I don't actually want the sound of a Wal.😃
  15. Think I'd rather give half of that kind of money to ACG , Shuker or Alpher and have an absolute masterpiece made to my own specification. I guess a lot of the appeal of a Wal is to be seen to be playing one
  16. The bass looks so cool in context. It's a bit of an ugly duckling outside of it ( but I still wish I had mine !)
  17. I sold my mint blueburst one to a work colleague for £100 ( what was I thinking)
