I picked up a used Schecter Nick Johnston traditional strat yesterday and its mind blowingly good. I was buying it originally as an upgrade project - in the shop it sounded awful, I had planned to put new pickups in it but on getting it home I realised the pickup heights were well off. 2 minute fix and now sounds amazing and was great value for money.

Good to know as it was the RW neck that drew me to it. There was a similar strat in my LGS which was absolutely stunning and I wondered why it had taken them so long to sell it.

What a shame - such a lovely bass which has been completely neglected - maybe stored in sea water ! A snip at the price 😄 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/316340774022?_skw=pink+strat&itmmeta=01JN61JS8NJ7X7N2GQPS1C4962&hash=item49a7612486:g:LVMAAOSwB3Nnt1x4&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA0FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1dNdLteqfnQg2BA5uBpAlIMXoc5ED5ZAJrLWpzqNrIC6Sb0tAOOcze2PoimDLyLUj0kkn34jyn5kWbOB0tj8vvlW4tt0LUUvfeC0YWFXB4eSi8YoAdWVe0zjnylWORv%2F38hEx0Cj5lIgrtG3CW2m3U0aN58BGKLEraXD308lZB2C5KOYVth4Oqeec9DMgL0x80tpKCcOQ6MWmJUtyw3d%2F070RtgCLbSS4fV7nnMzJNLL3vjnYoOnVT2QcPd9iTaSsg%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR7qUy8GpZQ

I so want to call a band Schifanoia - named after a bus stop in France ! Need a band first though !

I should have gone to Specsavers - thought it was the hot rod guitar 🤓

I like the pink version. The Bax sale is great -bought some ultra noiseless strat pickups yesterday for £150 : about £100 than less on GAK or £220 less than on the Fender website. Just hoping they turn up without issue !
-
I bought the model t and returned it as it was crap - had the shielding/ grounding issue but apart from that was just completely bland.
-
I've got that one too a stunning bass with great 'tronics.

I put a matching outlaw and maverick plus into my shoppping basket but just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger . By the time you had upgraded them you may as well have bought something decent in the first place. I did it with 3 Sue Ryders !

I was enjoying playing with Udio and making some cool tunes in it until I listened to another members generated track which was trending. The vocals on it were clearly those of Stacey Kent - if you know of her you will know what a distinctive voice she has. That did it for me and I cancelled my membership. Using existing work to train a model is bad enough but to then use actual voices in finished songs is appalling. If all artists opt out where will this leave them ?

I saw this article on ebay yesterday https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/account/regulatory/uk-digital-sales-reporting?id=5454 and wondered if the Basschat Marketplace would be subject to the same requirements ?

This was one of the dearer models I'd seen : https://www.thomann.co.uk/ns_design_nxt4a_vn_bk_f_fretted_violin.htm?glp=1&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpcWpsKHSiwMV4pFQBh04Owj5EAQYByABEgI5FPD_BwE Just £2000 more than my budget 😁

I did try violin many years ago - it was an engagement present of the Mrs. Suprised she still married me when she heard the horrible scratching sound I made.

Hi @Steve Browning, I recently heard Ebay are reporting sales(presumably cumulative) over a certain amount to HMRC in case there are tax implications i.e they are assuming you are a business seller. I buy and sell a lot of musical gear - its a hobby and I usually make a loss on the sales - so if I sell gear on ebay for say £10,000 ( which actually cost me £12,000) how would that work tax wise or is it irrelevant or would need evidencing etc. -
Well I know Rimmers music don't over estimate the market value of instruments - I was buying a new Keyboard last week and asked for a trade in price for a 2 week old Fender American Pro2 Precision and a roland Aerophone Ae20 - they offered me £600 for both ! PMT price matched so I bought the keyboard from them without px. Rimmer's stupidity/greed lost them a sale. The sax sold on ebay for £500 within minutes of listing it.

I saw a violin with frets on a Facebook video - would love a go on one of those. They seem to be really expensive or quite cheap and nasty so not likely to try one any time soon. I love the look of this one though and electric so you can add a bit of distortion 😁

Fender jazz bass american special, part ways or not?

I've just bought and returned a new Schecter Model T exotic. Not only did it have a shielding / grounding issue but despite it looking lovely it was really uninspiring to play. I swapped it for a Fender Am Pro Precision which is simply fantastic. Keep the jazz or check out the Schecter C4 silver mountain - now that is a cool bass for metal ! -
