Have just become hopelessly carried away in the Maruszczyk bass configurator... oh well, there goes the morning...

It has only taken me X years to finally get round to switching out the two band Glockenklang pre in my MIJ Fender for a three band Glockenklang! It will, after many years, match its sister MIJ!
I adore my Power Jazz Bass Specials!

I have accepted an offer from a friend to play in his karaoke band. I have to learn like 40 songs for tonight...

I wish you all the best! There's nothing like the feeling of flying on the edge of your seat!
I was once called up by a mate who had 8 hours to put together a band for a headline gig for a show where the main act pulled out at the last minute. The guitarist we managed to get hadn't even heard most of the rock songs we needed for the set!
It can be done and I look back on the evening fondly as it was tense, but also so much fun as the audience were told what had happened. Good luck, you'll be fine!

@andydye - Aww niiiiiiiiiice! - Funnily, I've reviewed a cheap jazz for an upcoming video in Bass Gear Magazine - and now I want a Jazz bass! I don't have one in my collection either! I'd be tempted too!
@eude - yeah, he certainly does! Now I can't stop thinking about them ha ha!!
@andydye , @eude - Thank you for asking! I think my Doodle (Sally @Rich!!) headless is going to get a sister. Another headless 6, but I've been playing with the design a bit. Some sculpting here and there and a really nice theme across the instrument that should hopefully be pretty eye catching as well as ergonomic. Nothing daft though, Jon and I like to stay tasteful!
But likewise, I'm running out of body parts to export!

Who is coming to the Guitar Show in Birmingham this weekend?

I've recently started recording all my own review videos for Bass Gear Magazine based in Ohio. Yes, I still write for Bass Player Magazine as I have been every month for the last (nearly) two and a half years, but I would love for you to follow this magazine and YouTube channel too!

It does mean that I've not been posting to my own channel, but would really appreciate a follow there too, please!!

I want to produce the best videos I can, so I'll be keeping an eye on threads like these to improve my content!

One of my students has an awesome sounding Jazz bass. I don't actually own a Jazz bass. Now I need a Jazz bass.
If psychologists want to come and study terminal G.A.S, you know where I am... lol

This lovely bass is now sold.

Colour co-ordinated my signature and avatar.
Guess I need to get out more often.

Hi Dood

Today I mostly have Dingwall Combustion GAS

I've never got along with Musicman basses... So why do I suddenly have GAS for a 5 string 'ray? Odd...

Trying to sell gear on FB marketplace is torturous. I swear people get a kick out of wasting your time.

I've been very lucky, but not without a huge amount of hard work. I've been a professional musician for over ten years now (not long compared to some) and although I've had the odd blip, caused by outside influences, I would say that yes, I adore my job(s). It was a kid dream to think that my bass could pay my mortgage - and here I am! Thank you for the thoughtful words BillyBass

What would be a good preamp/modeller/driver/DI to go straight into a PA? Before everyone starts naming bespoke, top of the range items, please bear in mind that the budget is low. When I say low, I mean that I was looking at a Behringer BDI21, low.

I am an independent (freelancing) music gear video reviewer and demonstrator. If you own or know of a brand who are looking to have video footage produced for social media, drop me a line. I’d be interested in working with you.
Maybe you are a shop wanting to show off basses for sale, or are a small company producing pedals, a massive worldwide brand wanting quality media by someone who knows what they are talking about or simply want a company introduction video; let’s have a chat.
I’m also working on producing voice over media as I have a studio set up here too.
