  1. I didn't realise Fender made a RW Jazz in white. Mine was sunburst, and I often wanted one in Fiesta Red. They also did one in a silver finish (also an anniversary model, I think?)..... But that does look nice in white. Can't be many of these around. GLWTS
  2. Hope it's OK to list this here, as well as the DB for sale section? I've done so, as these are regarded as good amps for upright. EA 550 watt Micro iAmp head. Yes, it's really tiny & lightweight, and yes, it's an incredible 550w - amazing for its size. Comes with metal case & manual. The case was a makeup box, I think? Great little amps - this one has had some use, though not lots by me. I bought it several years back here on BC. Good working order, with some surface scratches. In all honesty, I find it a little too "clean" or hifi-like when I'm doubling up on Bass guitar as well as upright - so I tend to use my MB Evo1 twin channel head these days. I've tended to take this along as a backup, or use it in folk club jam sessions. No trades - I'm having a clear out. Prefer collection from Cardiff, or nearby - but can post, but I'd prefer to insure it if post is the only option.
  3. Listed here, as these amps are regarded as good for upright bass. EA iAmp Micro head. 550 Watts, which is amazing, given the minute size and featherweight nature of this head. Moreover, it's dual channel, with 2 separate EQs - which you don't see often. Comes with metal case (which I think was a makeup box? Mains lead and manual. I've owned this several years, bought here on BC. Not used it a huge amount lately, as I now use my MB Evo1. Sometimes I just take this as a backup. Great for upright, but I find it's a little too "clean" for situations when I'm doubling up with a P bass. No trades please- I need to thin my collection of "stuff". Prefer collection from Cardiff, or nearby meet-up. Can post, and would prefer to insure that. (Not sure what it would cost - or you could arrange courier). These are now discontinued I believe, and I'm not sure of it's value. I've seen others sell for more, but this has some surface scratches, suggesting fair use... though not by me. Let me know if you think the price is fair.
  4. I can fully understand those second thoughts. I had one of these, and I couldn't believe just how good a bass it was. I kept it over both a really nice 2000's oly white USA P bass, and even a JV Precision - it was that good IMHO, and a rather pretty colour too. Not only that, but the fretboard was a lovely colour, and the neck sublime. I sold mine to reduce the number of basses, keeping my lovely Classic series Fiesta Red P, which is also stunning - but there are times when I miss my early CV Squier, especially this lovely colour. In all honesty, I wish I'd kept it, and you may end up with similar regrets.... Of course, I hope not! Cheers
  5. Welcome aboard. Sorry I missed your original post. Hope it's going well, and you're enjoying the wonderful world of bass Keep up the practice regime
  6. @ped - I think you'd be the best candidate to make that video
  7. That does look cool. The foldability is rather neat. Burns Bass is always a pleasure to deal with too Happy NBD
  8. I chose "nothing" because I / we don't usually stop on our way home from gigs. However, I usually find I can't sleep as soon as I get home, no matter how late it is .... my post-gig "refreshment" is usually a little whisky (or two), when I get home.
  9. That really is an eye-catching colour. GLWTS
  10. I had the exact same gigging rig a few years back, and it was brilliant. So sorry to hear of your health issues - GLWTS
  11. Wow - that's a great price for an absolutely amazing P bass
  12. I've voted "string break" but I needed 2 responses really. Actually, I had a battery fail on me at a gig - and on that occasion, I hadn't taken a spare bass - luckily, I had a spare PP3 battery. However, that battery change seemingly takes an age when you have onlookers (rummaging around the pockets of the gigbag took long enough).
  13. Hi @ped please be patient with me - as I've not used one of these before Can you plug a mic, plus an instrument into one of these without one cutting the other out? I assume you could take the headphone output into an amp? I ask because I'm trying to extend the number of inputs into a busking amp. Hope you are well good sir?
  14. Nice colour too. What's the weight of this one? I gather they are quite lightweight.
  15. I really must get a copy of John Robb's book on Goth. A mate has just read it and says it's really good. https://booksplea.se/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=4506444&currency=GBP&gclid=CjwKCAjw67ajBhAVEiwA2g_jEIy-lLGRBiiILvxAQjwNF2A4h0h2CISj-01ziizAnMVZz4oCqn1_lRoCHyYQAvD_BwE
  16. Here's a recently released video of one of the bands I'm in. We are called "Tom Crow & The Ghostriders". Please click "like" on YouTube (if you do like it, of course). The video was recorded for us, at Acapela studios, just north of Cardiff. EDIT: Acapela have booked us to support Merry Hell this December
  17. RIP Algy. His bass playing was a huge part of the atmosphere, sound and energy of the Damned's MGE album. As others have said, Andy Rourke, now Algy Ward
  18. Lovely looking bass Are you sure about the weight? 6 pounds is incredibly lightweight. (My ageing back finds such things ever more important).
  19. You've gone and done it again @Hellzero! ha ha
  20. What a nice post. Yes, there have been quite a number times when I've really really enjoyed playing a gig, or even just a rehearsal that went well - a special moment when music lifted my mood, or even helped me feel great. Happily, there are far more of these than the opposite. My only problem, is that I just can't get as much time to play music as I would like to, including some of the other non-bass instruments I own.
  21. Ah, so sorry to hear this @BassInMyFace Best of luck with getting your gear back. As you say, that NS EUB is a very niche instrument - hopefully it will turn up undamaged
  22. Thanks to @Lozz196 - I now have that tune in my head! lol
  23. The most important thing is - concentrate on your recovery, and looking after yourself. Re the rest of the band - explain the situation to them, and that you weren't given much prior warning. I'm sure they'll understand. The next stage will really be whether or not you're feeling up to playing for a while. I know I'd miss my bandmates, and gigging. But of course, you may or may not be well enough to continue in the short term. Perhaps ask your band whether they might consider a short term dep? I'd certainly mention your 80's style keyboard option too - let them know that you'd be willing to do that if you're well enough. That should at least let them know how committed you are. Firstly though - best of luck with your surgery, and hope you have a speedy recovery.... look after yourself.
