I have one of these on my board and cannot recommend them highly enough! They are one of the few envelope filters that do not lose the bottom end at all. They are relatively expensive but definitely worth it. It does also depend on what sort of sound you are trying to achieve - there are other filters that offer more "squelch" if that is your thing. There is another thread on the forum that talks about envelope filters and you can hear a sample of track that I have recorded with my band and the intro uses a Chunk Systems Agent 00 Funk Mark II not sure if that is the sound that you are after or not. Mark
i've heard great things about this pedal. i was wondering if anyone has had any experiences..good or bad.. so i can judge on whether to get one also whether there are any cheaper or just better alternatives? cheers, James
If anyone is interested I have attached a clip from a track that I play with my band that uses the Chunk Systems Agent 00Funk Mark II - you can hear the squelch in the intro. I think it does a pretty good job of cloning the Mu-Tron!! Mark

It should not be too hard to do. Last time I was down at Bernie Goodfellows in Brighton having some work done on my GB I mentioned it to him and he said that he could replace it but I have not been back there since! Let me know if you can find the funds! Cheers Mark
mate, if i can get the cash together i'll definitly let ya know! wicked bass! Is it easy to replace that battery cover? haven't never seen anywhere selling replacement battery covers!!
-

Something has taken my eye on the forum and as a result I really need to shift this bass now. Hopefully there are still some interested parties? Mark
No - it is still for sale but as the bass that I was after has now sold I am not sure whether to still sell it or not! Cheers Mark
-

I have purchased many envelope filters over the last couple of years and I have posted my findings on one of the many other threads on the forum about envelope filters. I am currently using the EBS Bass IQ, Chunk Systems Agent 00 Funk Mark II into the Chunk Systems Brown Dog for some awesome synth bass type sounds and also a Subdecay Prometheus which also has some cool filter and synth type sounds. I found the Q-tron, DOD FX25B, Maxon AF-9 and the Haz reissue of the Mu-Tron III to be lacking a lot of what I wanted from a filter and that was a really dirty squelch!! Mark
Just having a general ask about Envelope filters, who uses them an what model do you use. Ime currently useing an Ashdown bass envelope filter, i picked it up secondhand of fleebay quite cheeply when at the time i was looking at getting a BOSS auto-waw So the question is , what do you use? an how does it rank? Much thanx Dan...
I was in there yesterday - what a cool shop and guy that owns it! TBH not that impressed with the sound from the RH450 very coloured indeed. Did hear Mark Bass head through a Bergantino cab and wow what a sound!! I had tried Mark Bass before through their own cabs and decided it was not for me but this might have changed my mind!! The Genz Benz stuff sounded great too and so light in weight. Mark
you following me? Think i will be going with the Classic but i'm going to do a side by side at Bass Direct
Hi Guys, Cheers for the comments - some good some bad as you always expect! Think I might head out and test one for myself and see what they sound like. Certainly the portability looks interesting and the combining of the tuner and compressor would mean now need for a rack with a head and tuner in it and also one less pedal on the board too! Mark

Hi, I have been reading in BGM and on the web about the new bass amps and cabs from TC Electronics and I wanted to know if anyone on the forum has tried them out or bought one yet? They look really good on the web and the price is not too bad so might consider a change if the reports on here are just as good. Let me know your thoughts please! Mark

Hi Rich, What were your thoughts on the cab? Interested to hear after our debate!! Cheers Mark
I've just checked with voxpop (next on the list after me) and he has asked me to remove him from the list so I guess that if no one has any major objections, I can pass it on to Stingrayfan.
I passed the Southern Compact on to BarelyL4 last night and apologise for the delay in moving this along but I was waiting for the next in line to come back to me and he never did! Thanks for the opportunity again Alex and happy to test a Midget if the chance arises? Thanks Mark
I need to work out where they've been and where they have yet to go - my inclination is to keep these cabs touring until there's no more bass players left to try them! So no-one has missed the boat but there may be a wait before it returns to your vicinity. Alex
Think you are right Andy - a good new home/owner. Still just a bit miffed that I could not raise the necessary but that is the way things go sometimes - now if I could just persuade Russ to sell Bentley in 6 months time!!!!
Pete. Mr Thunderthumbs. apparently he played her the day before I collected her from new and fell in love then so perhaps it's right in the end that he finally has her, although you will understandably dissagree!
-
