1. Looks pretty handy - if only it had a drum machine built into it. Anyone tried one?
Don't know if this works for an iPhone but it does work for an iPod Dunno how well tho! Just seen it in Maplin one day. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Pm28cIIxb61/p...TuneStudio.html It looks good, but I dunno if it actually is chris
2. Yeah tried that and it isn't great! Must remember thought that this a mobile phone and not a Boss Micro Studio!
Yeah, there's the rub. No real way around it, as I say I just use it for acoustic guitar and vocals, just to get ideas down. All I can really suggest is amping up the bass and seeing if the ambient mic pics up on it.
3. Well actually just getting bass recorded to begin with! It seems to me that you can only record using the microphone and then the sound quality is sh*te! Mark
I use it for rough demos on occasion, just for capturing acoustic guitars and vocals. What is it in particular you're having trouble with?
4. I would agree with this sentiment. I currently run an Aguilar GS112 and Epifani UL210 and both are fantastic but I think the Epi edges it for a slightly better tone and is much lighter! Playing them both together makes for an interesting sound. I heard some Berg stuff at Bass Direct and it did sound good but then so did the Genz Benz and Mark Bass heads. Once you get into this level of spend then I think you are going to struggle to find anything bad it will probably be that one just does it more for you than any other. You really need to go to as shop that has as many brands as possible that you are interested in and try them all out. I did just that at The Gallery and opted for an Aguilar head and Epi cab as on the day that just gave me the sound that I was looking for. The Aguilar cab was bought because of the good things that I had heard about them on this forum and also because it is a smaller cab for smaller gigs so made some sense. Hope you find the sound you like and buy the relevant cab in due course.
I've owned all 3 makes - Aguilar GS112s, Bergantino 112s, an Epifani UL310 and a 410. I'm currently using two Aggies - a GS112 and a 112NT and I love 'em to bits. I don't know if it's my imagination but since I got the Aguilar AG500 head, they've been astounding me with their tone ever since. The two Bergies I had were also fantastic cabs with better mids than the Aggies, great build quality etc. The Epifani UL410 was monstrous - a fantastic cab with a huge sound and ridiculously light too but I think the cab that gave me the most pleasure was the UL310 - it ticked all the boxes, light loud, small, punchy, articulate etc. Truth is, they're all good cabs - well made and they sound fantastic, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.
5. Cheers Higgie - that seems to work!!
Know what you mean - I bought a Haz Mutron and shifted it on because it was massive!! I bought a Subdecay Prometheus for some funky squelch but have to admit that it is playing second fiddle to the Chunk Systems Agent 00 Funk Mark II at the moment. Can you give me some idea of the knob settings you use on the Prometheus to get a squelchy Mutron type sound?
6. Think you may well be right!
Anybody who is in need of a decent tuner pedal, watch the classifieds, I have a feeling there will be many TU-2s suddenly going up for sale!
7. Hi Max, I sold my 5 string recently so can't help on that one I am afraid! Our guitarist used it and it worked perfectly so no reason to suspect that it would not be less than perfect. I thought it was pretty well priced too. Mark
Thanks Mark for the mini-review. Do you know how the polytune tracks with a 5/6 string? Max
I had it modded to take an Boss 9V DC input (using some clever virtual battery jiggery-pokery from The GigRig) so it's an option as it can be daisy chained. But it's huge! The Bypass is terrible. No LED either. It does sound bloody amazing though!! The Prometheus just works better for me live because it's more versatile. I have an Envelope Filter capable of Mu-Tron territory, which is small, TB, has an LED, can do auto wah and step filter as well as fixed frequency sounds too. I'd be stupid to use the Mu-Tron instead of that And yes that was Toasted's old wah. I love it. Great range of tones that suit different styles, I'd put it in between a 105Q and a Morley Dual Bass Wah in sound capability, but is better than both has it has the auto on/off thing when you step on the pedal like those two, but it's not on a spring so can be left open in whatever position you want, and turned on/off with the stomp switch! Fantastic design IMO!
9. Just bought one these yesterday and used it at a gig last night and have to say what a fantastic tuner it really is, very, very accurate and the polytune function is amazing and great for guitar or bass players. Think that I will keep my Behringer rack tuner just for the light now! Mark
 10. I bought a Pedaltrain 2 with hard case from Theo last week and it was a very quick and pain free transaction. The board was exactly as described and was packed up perfectly. A pleasure to do business with! Mark
 11. Mike recently bought my Diago Showman pedalboard from me - polite and efficient communication and super fast payment. Would highly recommend to others with no problem at all. Mark
 12. I recently bought a Catalinbread Serrano Picosso pedal from Higgie and it was an easy transaction - would highly recommend to others. Mark
 13. Come on guys - need to shift this before my wife finds out that I bought something else without shifting this first to fund it!!!!
 14. Just following on from the others before me! Mod please move to For Sale section.
Yes, that's why it needs to go in the for sale section
15. Well yesterday there were two other pedalboards for sale in this part of the forum so it seemed the best place to post! Surely if you use effects then a pedalboard for sale is relevant?
Wrong forum dude, PM a mod and they'll move it for you
16. Pics now added - forgive the quality!
 17. I have just changed my effects set up and therefore need to move on my Diago Gigman pedalboard. I have owned this for a couple of years and it is has been to a few gigs with me but is still in good condition. These are great pedalboards and keep your pedals safe and sound but without weighing a ton! There are loads of images on www.diago.co.uk but if anyone wants some pics then please let me know. Internal dimensions of the board are 23" wide x 11" deep. Brand new these boards are about £90 so I would be happy to take £50 plus postage for it. Cheers Mark
 18. Got any pics of the pedalboard so that I can see the condition?
Pedaltrain 2 w/Hard case. This is in fairly good condition, it's got velcro on too. This is the older version without PP2 bracket. £110 shipped. Moogerfooger Low Pass Filter with the EP2 Expression pedal - Great condition, never gigged. Comes with box and possibly the manual, I'd have to have a look for it. Higgie has first dibs on this as I know he wanted it so I'll wait to get a reply from him and report back! £150 shipped.
19. Would have to agree with you there WalMan.
or did he just think he'd been sussed and get cold feet? I've become such a cynic in my old age
20. Bump - Anyone, Bueller, Anyone??
 21. I purchased this on iTunes the other day and think that it could be quite handy but have not had much time to play with it yet. I am initially struggling to understand how I can use it record 2 or different bass parts over a drum track. If anyone knows this app and uses it then some advice for an absolute home recording novice would be greatly appreciated!
 22. + 1 to that. My set of Elixir's has been on for ages now and they still sound fantastic. The coating has come off a bit by the bridge where I play but it does not feel weird or effect the tone at all so I just carry on regardless!
Aye, Ive been using Elixers forever now so these do interest me. But having said thath im in the same boat as Ped, Been using my elixirs nearly a year and they sound new... And i really do dig in.
23. Does anyone know much about Gigbaby on the iphone - seems to be a very cheap 4 track recorder to me?
I'm looking for a cheap recorder to record rehearsals, etc... Atm the Zoom H2 is on my top list, however I'm a bit concerned about the quality...we are a loud band and play through a 4.5k PA, quite a big room too. I know, we can always turn down, still ,the room accoustics is pretty 'live'. We previously recorded a couple of songs with our former vocalist using his Fostex LR16, bass, drum triggers and mics via DI, and drums overheads and for guitar - all straight into the desk. Although the process is much lenghtier, the sound quality was pretty good. Is it worth buying a cheap portable recorder or should I invest on a multitrack instead? (any cheap multitrack options?) Another question, can the Zoom H2 be connected directly to the mixing desk?...that way we could go through the desk and record anyone?
24. Ha ha - too true my friend. Just shifted on my 5 string due to lack of use.
And I still miss her, she was almost as cute as "The Angel" but had the correct amount of strings!
25. Last reminder for any Cheltenham/Gloucester based Basschatters looking for some funk on a Friday night!!
