1. Mmm, great colours. I love Burgundy Mist but could never pull the trigger on one and own one. As you can tell from my profile pic, it's LPB for me.
2.
I would check out these... http://www.public-peace.de/index.php/bass-guitars/maruszczyk/elwood/4-string/1266-elwood-l-4a-24-amazaque140333 Adrian makes a few light weight basses around the 7lb mark. Hope this helps.
Very cool, good find!
3. I've had two basses that are 7.5lbs, but the slightly lighter one actually felt heavier as the balance was ever so slightly neck heavy, this made it more uncomfortable for me and unusable standing up...but my body is ultra sensitive. My Mike Lull is a bad back dream, trust me as I have some serious conditions and nerve damage. It's light as a feather, balances like no other bass Ive ever played and sounds lush. Worth a trip to Bass Direct and not eating for a months to get one of those. Good luck mate, hope you get a good one.
4. Now for sale, not trade so £50 Great condition, home use only. Comes with quite a lot of Velcro for your pedals. Cheers!

6.
If I had a rabbit that done that I would be having rabbit stew for dinner the same evening! Your jazz looks the business!
...if they ever touched my Mike Lull......
7.
Hopefully mines a bit less relic'd though
Too true!!! I'm really not into relics, never have been to be honest yet I keep ending up owning them as they sound so damn good! These days my Jazz is a Coset Classic, that's much better. At least if they take a knock it's cool, plus one of our rabbits started chewing the side of the Nocaster, looks just like the fender relicing lol
8. Has yours arrived yet??????
9.
Got any pics of your Nocaster?
Only this one on my iPad.... Edit, found one more!
10. Looks identical to my Nocaster - good taste sir!!!
11.
I get a bit nervous when people talk about full turns plural in relation to truss rods.
Yeah, it could make you wonder at what point the rod is going to end up popping out of the 17th fret!! Funny thing is, I've literally lost count of the amount of Fenders I've had to do multiple turns on as the rod was dead loose, this includes a good few Custom Shops too. (Generally after purchase - so let's not even get into how many shops are useless at truss rod adjustments too, it's not like the old days when less folks feared it...)
I actually think people have a irrational fear of truss rod adjustment.
+1000 I'll leave it at that as I really could write a huge post on just that subject.
12.
what's not to prefer about the Sterling.
The ceramic pickup for my taste. Starlings are great basses, I've had two in the past. I just always wanted the alnico vibe even though the ceramic has its own charms.
13.
Very, very true. My basses won't be getting so much love over the next few days I think.
Haha, tell me about it!!! I'm waiting for surgery and bass is harder to play than guitar at the moment, to be honest I shouldnt even be playing guitar either. But I've never been this inspired or comfortable before from a set up. I've owned and used plenty of cool guitars over the years from pre CBS onwards and some cool amps too, but this current set up of the Nocaster and 68 Princeton is making me think more about my guitar vibes and how I should be further developing and exploring them post surgery. I'm pretty sure bass will be a close second over the next year or so, things are sure pointing that way. People say better gear doesn't make you a better player. I get that and why they say it, but we're all different a get inspired differently etc etc. if I'm inspired, I'm not only better, but more eager to get better and better. I better finish by saying I'm better off getting better!
14. I got to say, the idea of the capsules didn't go down too well with me. More costs and another thing to go wrong or get lost. I bought a TC delay pedal recently, can't believe that the sounds can be adjusted via a smart phone and the guitar pickup, the world is changing. Nothing better than getting a new amp, tone is so inspiring.
15. Nice one, always good when the Fender wins the Pepsi Challenge!
16. Should be a nice shoot out between those two, I like the idea of the tubes in the X2. Be great to read what you think.
17.
Thread resurrection, Guitar Guitar have got the Blues Cube in at last, I'm going to go and do a side by side with it, a Fender Superchamp X2 and a Blackstar idTVP15 (or 30) this week. A new amp day in the offing
Great video, love his playing too. I'm so dubious of modelling amps, you always loose naturalness no matter what you gain, but for versatility there is no match to these modern wonders. If you chose to go the other way, a Fender 68 Custom Princeton Reverb made it into my home yesterday. Surprise purchase, double the budget, but oh my gosh it was just what I needed. It's not for everyone though. I like one amazing sound rather than a choice of loads that will most likely have me fiddling inseatd of playing. I bought this without hesitation as even with my CS Nocaster it has a lush warm and very pure clean tone, but to drive it it will need to go the full 12 watts so that won't be happening in my flat! I'm more of a clean player anyway and have a great hand made OD pedal so no issues there. Not meaning to kill the thread with a 'go pure' message, just still basking in a new amp day. That Roland does look very cool, and they know a thing or two about gear, as does Eric. Really looking forward to your next post after trying it.
18. The OP has now been deleted, this amp was up for sale but it's far too much to be letting go of. The drive channel is pretty cool, perfect for laying on the bed and doodling some blues whilst messing with the volume knob on the guitar to alter the drive. I did recently buy a bigger and far better amp, but I reckon I'll keep this one in th bedroom for when the Mrs has got the TV on.
19. NOW £120 Only bought in February, excellent condition. This is the model with reverb, they sell new for £199. Comes with the power lead and instructions etc unopened. Great one watt valve amp for home use. Having to sell as I fancied a larger amp. I wanted to keep this too but I overspent, by double. Proper case of GAS whilst in the shop, but you only live once eh?! The overdrive sounds on this are unreal for one so small. The clean channel can be overdriven for a light blues tone. Push in the switch and the dirty channel has a huge tone, but at a low low volume or louder if you want it. It really does push the valves giving you a sweet overdrive. Also has a useful headphone output / line out with speaker emulation. Little box of big fun!!! 20. Annoying phrases? "I couldn't give a toss" :-)
21. Cheers Si. They are surprisingly unlike most Line 6 gear, in that these are the muts nuts and make it onto a hell of a lot of pro's pedal boards.... Frusciante's, Thomas Yorke, The Edge etc. This is it, folks; the fabled “green box” that’s been igniting creativity, passion and sheer awe since Line 6 first released its digitally modeled marvels on the world in 2000. Containing 16 models based* on legendary echo and delay boxes from the storied Maestro® EP-1 Echoplex to the awesome T.C. Electronic® 2290, the DL4 has in turn become a classic in its own right, as popular with guitarists as it is with singers, drummers, bassists, keyboardists, and anyone who wants a pure 24-bit true stereo signal path in the service of delays that run the gamut from gritty and psychedelic to pristine and heavenly. You’d be insane to pack an original Roland® RE-101 Space Echo or Electro-Harmonix® Deluxe Memory Man into the back of your van for a club tour, but the DL4 packs models of those sounds and many more into a rugged, road-tested steel housing that can run for up to 30 hours on four “C” batteries or with the optional PX-2G power adaptor. Models of classic delay boxes—and the sweet choruses and vibratos that accompany many of them—are just the beginning; the DL4 also boasts innovative sounds like its “Auto-Volume Echo,” which combines a volume swell with a tweakable tape-style echo; or the outstanding “Reverse Delay,” which allows you to play stunning backwards guitar solos on the fly. You also get those U2-style “Rhythmic Delays” in several metric flavors, super-cool “Ping-Pong Delay” effects, and outrageous stereo panned repeats. Look, if it ain’t in the DL4, it probably doesn’t exist . . . until you create it. What’s more, with its onboard 14-second looper, the DL4 is both the perfect practice tool and the ultimate creative canvas for crafting overdubs and creating textures, with its ½ speed and reverse modes ideal for sonic adventurers and arrangement-minded recordists alike. Like all Line 6 stompbox Modelers, the DL4 boasts a simple and sturdy front panel design, with four footswitches for saving and recalling your sounds, and six knobs for selecting models and tweaking parameters, with distinct assignments for each knob depending on the delay model you’ve chosen. Paired with the optional EX-1 expression pedal, which lets you morph between two radically different settings for each of your sounds, the DL4 is truly the ultimate delay pedal, making the history of echo and delay available to your creative future. Available Models: • Tube Echo • Tape Echo • Multi-Head • Sweep Echo • Analog Echo • Analog w/Mod • Lo Res Delay • Digital Delay • Digital w/Mod • Rhythmic Delays • Stereo Delays • Ping Pong • Reverse • Dynamic Delay • Auto-Volume Echo • Loop Sampler
22. Can't go wrong with TC, they make great gear. The larger looper has more in depth features, worth checking out their website. I've played in them before, thumbs up from me regarding quality.
23. Always been 3 for me. A Precision Bass A Jazz Bass An active bass Any more would be indulgence for my needs so that keeps the GAS away. But of course, if I had more space and money there'd be a fretless Jazz, a 5 string Mike Lull PJ and a 1978 Music Man Sabre.
