1. Great little amps these, had one for a few years and it has done many rehearsals and gigs. Really good value for money.
2. Sorry, not interested in trades on this as I am trying to cut down on the number of basses I have.
3. Thanks, Marc, it is certainly all of those things. I'm hoping I won't regret it when it's gone. I've got three basses up for sale ATM and this was the hardest to think of losing.
4. It is with a heavy heart that I am putting my 2012 US Standard Precision up for sale. I've had this for nearly 2 years, got from a forum member when only a few weeks old in exchange for a US Standard Jazz. Vintage white, tort guard, rosewood neck, truly a lovely bass. Comes with the standard Fender hard case. Currently strung and set up for D'Addario XL 160s, 50-105 nickel roundwounds. String though body bridge, lovely feel and tone. Selling as I really only need two basses and my recent purchase of a CiJ 60s rep Precision just fits my hands and style perfectly. This bass has seen some 30 or so gigs, and has two marks on it, the there is a small ding on the front of the headstock (pictured) and a small chip out of the paint on the upper horn (also pictured) Neck, back, scratchplate etc are unmarked, always played finger style. Slight wear to frets, as expected on a used bass. Prefer collection, but can courier at buyer's expense. The bass is available for viewing and trying between Witney and Abingdon in West Oxfordshire. 5. Now selling one of my jazz basses too... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/267366-2014-fender-standard-jazz-bass-incl-case/
6. We played Faringdon Follyfest this evening, our third year there. Last year we were on the main stage and went down a storm, this yerwe found ourselves in the small stage in a pub courtyard. Singer (and me!) not too happy about it, but got on with it (especially as a good number of my mates from the Harley riders club had ridden over just to see us). Atmosphere was further dampened by a total power cut immediately before our set which ate up pver 5 mins of our allocated 45. Once power was restored we jumped in hard on our opening number and grabbed the audience, then put on a good solid and powerful set, lots of calls for more. Pulled a lot of people into the courtyard, place was packed by the end.
7. The weight of the ABM in one hand is a good counterbalance to a Barefaced Super Twin in the other
8. I bought this bass earlier this year when I needed to cheer mnyself up during some health problems. Gigged twice, great sound, but I want to get back to just a couple of basses and they will be my two vintage replica Fenders. So, it's a Lake Placid Blue Fender Standard Jazz Bass, maple neck and fingerboard, made in Mexico 2014, purchased new by me at PMT Oxford. Totally unmarked (and wearing a stylish Dashwood Duck sticker on the scratchplate, souvenir of a gig at The Dashwood Arms given to me by the landlord). Includes new generic case (not Fender). This bass is exactly as it came from the shop, plus a case and a set up to suit my playing (whch means I set it up according to Fender's instructions). I tried every Jazz in the shop before buying this, and it had the best feel and sound there. Very rich sound for a Jazz, wth a healthy amount of top end as well. Prefer to have it collected, but can courier at buyer's expense. The bass can be viewed, fondled, and played though my ABM500/Barefaced Super Twin rig here in West Oxfordshire at almost any time. Basically a brand new bass at over £100 below shop price, plus a case for free. What more could anyone ask for? 9. Weekend reminder, now willing to accept £425 including new Epiphone fitted hard case.
10.
I'm beginning to think you regret selling that amp...
Whatever makes you think that??? (just treat [s]her[/s] it well)
11.
I bet she turns up to rehearsals and knows the material!
Hmm, what are you willing to bet? How about my former ABM 500?
12.
Try putting a pea under her mattress, then you'll know for sure.
She'll feel that through 50 mattresses!
13.
Great amp! I think the naysayers have either used them with muddy cabs or are after a totally different tone. Try one on a Super Twin - magic!
The exact combination I use.
14.
No-one is good enough to have that attitude. Like you say, if it were down to me she'd be gone. What is it with singers? They seem to think they don't need to learn lyrics or arrangements, too. Plus they never carry any gear, not even their own frigging microphones! /rant
Our Jen says she is a Princess and that's that. None of us disagrees with her, because as soon as she opens her mouth to sing, we are all rendered speechless.
15. NO! I loathe bass solos with a passion and hate having to do them at the drop of a hat when the singer suddenly decides it's a good idea. Bass is not and never should be a solo instrument.
16. I'm really regretting selling this one now, the only consolation is that I still have my other ABM 500.
17. OK, time to get serious here, price now reduced to £425 including brand new Epiphone hard case. Needs to as I have already bought the P bass I wanted (and a case, and now new pick up...) Got to pay my bills!
18. I'm waiting for a Seymour Duncan SPB-1 for my CiJ Precision, I'll let you know what I think when I get it next week.
19. I use an ABM EB 180 112 combo for small gigs (unless there is a PA I can DI into). Cost me £90 2 or 3 years ago and is dead reliable, sounds pretty good too. I'll be using it tonight when my band is acting as house band at a local open mic night.
