1. I have one of these (in sunburst) and it is my #1 gigging bass, I got rid of a US Standard Jazz because this payed better.
2. Played as a four piece (no Jenny) at a local charity raising beer fest, all the beer we could drink (coupla pints each as we were all driving) and a burger or two in exchange for playing a 45 min set. I actually got my my Ashdown/Barefaced backline out after only using DI for most of this year, refreshingly punchy. No foldback, so a bit of a challenge knowing where we were in each song, and very little FOH PA, so audience somewhat bemused. We played fine, but a bit of audience feedback would have been nice, if only they could have heard the vocals.
3. We played a bike club rally in the Midlands last night, great audience helped by the fact that I am an official of the club and knew most of the people there. Played outside, great onstage sound with the two new larger monitors we have just bought and listening to a recording of the second set as I type, excellent front of stage sound as well. Should lead to similar gigs around the country of this national club. Unfortunately, once we had deducted the money we owed for the monitors, we went home with twenty quid each, in addition to which I spent £400 while there on a new bass! Rather fetching Jap Fender P, 60s replica in sunburst, rosewood, tort....makes a lovely pair with my similar Mex Jazz bass. I'll try to get some pics of the two together at this afternoon's gig.
4. I used to ride a Harley Softail Heritage but don't remember seeing that case in the HD accessories catalogue! Riding a Super Glide these days, and tonight's gig is at a Harley Rally. I should know at least 75% of the audience by name.
5. Taking a look at this bass's replacement today and likely to buy it, so this Epiphone has to go soon!
6. We did a favour gig in Standford in the Vale as we rehearse in a band member's house there. Had a good laugh with Jen when we spotted this on his gate as we walked to the gig from where we parked: Poor Jenny, reduced to second billing behind the egg throwing competition. Oh how the mighty are fallen!
7. We played in West Wycombe on Friday night, decent place to play (they even rustled up a spare drum stool as ours had been left behind) but not many people there during the first set. Went out back during the break and there plenty there, mostly bikers there for an NCC (National Chopper Club) meet, so I had a word and they come in for the second set which made a huge difference to the atmosphere, we left them shouting for more after three encores. Back there again 4th July.
8.
Never! Let your freak flag fly as long as you can.
We've played that one a few times now, 3 out of 5 of us in the band have long-ish hair, I think mine is currently the longest. 9. Still sitting here taking up space I need....
10. We're playing there again on July 4th.
11. Our easternmost gig yet tonight, at The Dashwood Arms, West Wycombe. Closest to London we have played, we usually perform west of Oxford. We're looking forward to this one, a bit of a drive from Swindon but a step into a new area for us. If you haven't heard Jenny Haan sing yet, you really don't know what you're missing!
12. I was hoping to make it to this, and have a couple of Jazzes, but unfortunately we have an early evening gig, so won't be able to now.
13. Still available, though some interest shown, so might not be around for much longer.
14.
I have a theory that a significant percentage of the public have no idea what the lyrics are to any given song.
I know a few singers like that as well.
15. There are so many versions of this around that is difficult to pick any of them as the definitive one. We've played it a few times, but not for a while. We tend to change things around in most songs we play, so added guitar and harp solos. Good song, must remind the band to play it again.
16. New pics and someone trying hard to sell me a MiJ 60s Precision bump!
17. No problem, good luck with your search.

19. It's unlikely that we'll be going as far as Europe this year, and if we do, the spare bass carrying facilities will be somewhat compromised by our choice of vehicle, a Eunos Roadster (MX5 in Japanese clothing. Though it could be worse, every trip into Europe I have made in the past has been on two wheels, precious little room for a bass on my Harley!
20. May....June...July...Orrrgust, September...all looong months. If it hangs around that long, I'll have to re-advertise it as vintage, and we all know what that does to the price!
21. I'm just going to sit here and out-patience you
22. You'll have to take your fingers out of your ears eventually...
23. It's a long time til October...why wait, you know it makes sense
