  1. I love Lisa's dog!!
  2. Very nice - who are the dudes in the pic (I recognise Roger in the middle)
  3. I had one of those - I stung them along for about 30 minutes, pretending I was completely computer illiterate (she spent a few minutes telling me which the space bar was) and when she finally said 'And what does it say on your executable window?' I said 'oh, that's strange - it says 'f&*k off'
  4. This thread just goes to show how much misinformation and misconception there is out there that the scammers are able to exploit.
  5. Yeah I got that - and smiley is looking fine my end!
  6. No. But obviously don't click any links or download any attachments.
  7. Ignore and add 'bitcoin' to your spam filter As a general rule, you should change your passwords on sites you use so they each have a unique code. You can use a password manager to help with that.
  8. Yes we were one of the sites affected.
  9. That's the weird thing, I literally haven't sweated on them at all; the bass they're on has only been used at home! And I really don't sweat, either! Honest! One thing I did wonder about is that my office/bass room opens on to the garden so when I have left the bass on a stand it gets some fresh air now and then - and the weather has been a bit dodgy recently, but still.. acid rain maybe
  10. Stringsandthings have replied and said they'll send me another set which is really good. They said it's a bit too long since purchase to know whether it's a manufacturing defect or something I've done so they asked for a pic which I have attached here also. To be honest I have given the strings a bit of a clean (before pic) and they still sound and feel OK - but a new set is appreciated!
  11. Ah yes I meant to say I want the WL20L, I thought the models were the other way round. Yes just a pure signal please!
  12. It will be interesting to A/B it with my favourite cable. I can definitely hear the difference between that and a few others I have, so I assume/hope the wireless will be up there in terms of quality (but I assume not as good as the best cable)
  13. Yes it could have been a cumulative effect - I think I was super sensitive to it as I'd just returned an iRig 2 HD because the latency was really noticeable. I'm pretty sure I had a Smoothhound and another I tried was a Shure (I think?) but really can't remember. I really like the look of the Boss wireless so perhaps worth giving another go. It's just that at home I play with what (to me) is a perfect setup which sounds so crystal clear that any noise or latency stands right out. I mean I am even able to hear a difference in cables, something I never thought possible. I might give the Boss WL-20 a go then...
  14. I have yet to try one where I don't notice the latency (in studio environment). It's a shame because I really don't like cables all over the place and I love gadgets
  15. Dave came over with an envelope full of cash in exchange for a Ken Smith bass. Perfect deal, no messing about - enjoy the bass! A good BCer, folks! ped
  16. @Mastodon2 has a 1991 BT
  17. Look after her glad you like it and let me know how you get on with it. You’ve got a very special bass there 👍🏼
  18. Thanks, it really is - I would never have sold it except for this one bass (how many times have we all said that!)
  19. On hold - potentially sold within hours! Cheers
  20. Hi guys I have seen another Smith that I really must have (4 string) so I need to sell this amazing bass. Everything about it is perfect; it has the exact ‘Smith Sound’ and is in superb condition. Its a BT5 model form 1991. It has a volume with pull passive mode which works without a battery, then a pickup pan knob followed by a stacked bass and treble. Most people say this is the classic Smith pre. The front and back is figured Koa (FK in serial number). Then there’s a maple layer with a mahogany centre. Theneck is graphite reinforced, maple and morado five piece. The setup is flat and low - making it effortless to play. The whole bass is so thin and resonant - slap an E on this and your whole body shakes. It comes with the original (again, sought after) teardrop hard case and leather strap. Currently strung with Elixir .040s. Weight is 4.4kg Collection from/near York strongly preferred although I’m happy to meet halfway to basically anywhere to ensure safe and happy receipt of bass. Some pics - can take more in request! Cheers ped
  21. Here you go mate let me know if I can help with any questions https://www.basschat.co.uk/faq/ ped
  22. Hopefully a dodgy set then. I’ve found a few people saying they’ve had rusty ones on google but will be interested to hear what EB say. I bought mine on eBay from a shop so not sure who should be compensating
  23. Hi folks I fitted some EB Cobalt flats in March. I really like them and have played them a fair bit at home. However I noticed yesterday that they have rusted quite badly (and quickly) around the 20th fret and the playing area over the pickups. Is that normal for these strings? I hope not as I really like them - I’ve contacted Ernie Ball so will let you know what they say. Maybe I got a dud set? Anyway I've ordered some Labella super light flats to try as for some reason I’ve never given them a go.
  24. Well I don't want to speak for Jason but I know their strings are made on the same machines which were hand made by his father so I guess there's no sense in changing them - presumably other manufacturers started by copying Rotosound and did things in the same way.
  25. Just asked Jason How at Rotosound: So there you have it!
