  1. The best cleaning job on my old SR5 fretboard I used nafta lighter fluid and 0000 steel wool to polish off all the grime from the previous owner. A couple of thin Birchwood Casey gunstock oil coatings to nourish the wood and a bit of same brand wax for the back of the neck.
  2. When your mind's a hammer, everything turns into nails.
  3. That bass tone on Jar of Flies is one of my favourites ever. And that full fat sound on the live footage is amazing too!
  4. Warwick will have some https://shop.warwick.de/en/parts-for-instruments/parts-for-basses/bridge-stringholders-parts?p=2
  5. Not that many fans of Kustom amps though I'm quite fond of the brand. It'd be difficult for a brand to get their amps to market without any following at all I'd think!
  6. Mind answering the other question first? Who all can you recommend that make interesting music as multi instrumentalist? That's what started this thread, the cool performance by Brutus. Now it just looks like you're virtue signalling (I think that's what it's called these days) and reprimanding people for being impressed by a female musician.
  7. According to some of the previous commenters apparently.
  8. Not that many people that are front person, drummist and lead vocals competently all at once. Let's see you do better (really, I'd love to see your videos)
  9. The v7 are now all alder bodies and the v8 are swamp ash, have roasted maple necks and the 'heavy mass' bridges.
  10. In some situations you can put your audiogram in to Sonarwork software, and it'll compensate the output to your studio monitors or headphone. Hearing aids are standard tuned to optimise voices in relation to your hearing loss, to the detriment of music. Some may have a music program or setting which is better but not quite the same as the output of music specific speakers.
  11. My band's releases are called 'Thrashist pigs' 'Très Metal' 'Weapons of mosh destruction' 'Thrailer thrash' and the working title for the next one is 'Thrasher island' I won't spoil the genre of music we play.
  12. Always have been. Nothing has changed in the whole advent of pop music. It's all constructed of the lowest common denominator. Main stream is for people that don't like music.
  13. That is not really accurate
  14. Tuner goes last on my board. Eliminate all noise to the amp between songs.
  15. I'd get a boss LS2 or radial Di to mix the preamps together and send that to a fender rumble 800 or EBS reidmar 502 or other 2 Ohm amp. Way easier to send that to the house desk or adjust your backline volume. If you insist on dual amping, for which there is absolutely no reason imo, you could get two hartke or markbass units, or ampeg portaflexes. Anything 250w and up in parallel should be more than loud enough.
  16. I have the Marshall monitor II headphones, they come with an app with a decent EQ that could be useful. As always, wireless is too laggy to play music with but transcribing may be just perfect.
  17. I can set my bass up low but I don't want to. I have a strong grip and a heavy picking hand. A really low setup would be fretbuzz town and make me very unhappy.
  18. This made me look at the manufacturer's websites instead of the shops. At Fender the only five string basses were jazzes, and ugly colours at that, so pass. (Those showed up when selecting 5 String Basses in the menu. Apparently there are more on the site. This reliability says enough on why to never get anything fender) Maybe the ibanez SRMS805 (pictured) then. Still I'd rather choose from either Mayones or Maruszczyk!
  19. ISP Decimator II noise gate pedal. I work with a good amount of compression and gain, this pedal really keeps all noise under control without touching my tone. One knob set to 1 o'clock, always on, that's it.
  20. If only this were a five string ❤️
