Bought tickets to see David Byrne at Caesar’s in Las Vegas in April. Quite looking forward to.

Sorry for the late reply Dave, I was completely unfit after two weeks in bed. I think getting out the house would be a good start to getting me fit/fitter, spent more of the year in bed or on the couch so for.

New venue with a new band last night, our first solo gig together. Enjoying playing with a keyboard player again, not done that since the 90’s. Crowd seemed to like it and venue said we’ll be invited back, so a good start to the new venture. Different stage presence, being just the bass player at the back and a frontman in front of me. Having spent two weeks in bed this year, so unfit and ribs were killing me, with the weight of the bass, so was wilting by the end of the night. Any advice on how to get fitter is appreciated.

Saw GUN do an acoustic set at St Luke’s in Glasgow. It’s a beautiful venue and a great version of their songs, some of which they’d never done live before. I’m thinking we could do an acoustic set from our set list?

Sunday evening gig in a local, with a new guitarist and new drummer. Slimmed down setlist, of which we’d only run through half together on Wednesday afternoon. Vocalist/guitarist and I have gigged together for the last eight years, so fit well together. Drummer and I gigged together for 12 years in the late 80’/90’s, he dep’d with us for one gig in 2022, so I trust him and he’s brilliant. New lead guitarist has some brilliant vocals, especially with the couple of Cult songs he’s brought, gigs with another Band and does his one man show too, so he’s fitted in well. New line up gives us four ( well three and me ) lead vocals and an awful lot of gigging experience. Cant help but think this might be the start of a good thing.

Yes, rumble is being used as a bedside cabinet just now. 🙄 Should really sell it, or use it.

This topic made me join the group, not seen Alan for a few years, probably February/March 2020 at the show in New Bingley Hall? Never had one of his basses, but always thought I’d speak to him at some point.

I could be replaced pretty easily. In fact, both cover bands I play in have replacements for me and I’ve lined them up, should I not be able to do a gig. Latest cover band I’m in, we’ve only done one gig this year, I got my replacement to do a full set rehearsal, so I could work on sound and effects before our one and only gig. I’m not precious.

Tried that, went into desk and no onstage sound from me. Drummer complained that he kept loosing track as although I’m shocking at playing bass, it did actually help him find his way through the songs. So now, even if I’m using IEM’s, I still have the headrush on stage and let the drummer control the volume.

Yes, started using one last year, with a small amp & cab’ simulator pedal. Could loan you one to try, if you want?

Did you ever note the settings down? I need to do Bad Love (Clapton) and the opening is clearly fretless. Hoping to just create a patch for it.

Annual visit to see the Australian Pink Floyd on the 22nd of November in Glasgow.

First time buying from Tim and would definitely buy again, fantastic Hohner. Quite to reply, communicate and post once I’d paid. Thank you sir. 🫡

Dear Mr Dodgnofski, I find myself in the position of wanting this more than I want to buy my grandchildren Christmas presets. I’ll be using the messages we’ve exchanged over the last few days to show my wife that you used high pressure sales tactics ( such as being polite, courteous and quick to respond ) and all but forced me to buy it. Anyway, PM’d and thank you for the additional pictures and info’ over the last few days. Lee.

I’ve got a ticket to see them at the Barrowlands on the 14th, usually most band around here have the night off and make it the Christmas night out. Usually a great night.

You’re only a few years ahead of me and 20 odd miles away, so I’d like to think there’s more out there for you. A friend is in his late 70’s and still gigging a couple of time a week with his band ( Nightfly ). To the OP, I had a 20 year hiatus and thought it was all over, but a simple chance meeting changed it. You never know what’s round the corner, so I wouldn’t rule anything out.

The bass sale that turned a (massive) corner… - *SOLD*

Days late, but first gig with a new band last Friday. Taking me back to days gone past, playing with keyboards, being just the bass player and a different sorta set list from what I’ve done for the last six years. Liked it and nothing wrong with the set list, just need to tighten up as a unit, which we’ll do over time. I’ve come to the realisation that an almost 20 year hiatus has allowed my ( weak to start with ) skill level to diminish and I’ll never be as good as I was in the 90’s. Enjoying doing a wee bit more though.

Love mine, had for four years now and have the D tuner like yours, but the most uncomfortable thing to play standing up. Fine sitting down, but moves about 12” to the left as soon as you stand up and put the strap on. I’m going to have to look for the strap extension hook, as I’d love to gig it more.

No, told Gordon he’d play Bar 6 after a six year hiatus. Horse & Jockey is 5th and 10th of May. I’d be as well leaving my gear setup there. 🙄

Ted’s playing in the livingroom on the 27th of April, if you’re looking for a wee trip out? 👍
