Hey Dave, I have generally had good dealings with BD. I just posted yesterday to vent as I thought I had bought a rather nice bass from them only to find their website/stock listing system had led me up the garden path!

Fair comment but, really, in this digital age how hard should it be for the retailer to click a button when an item is sold? Its not as if BD are ASOS with a gazillion transactions a day. Anyhow lesson learned.

A nice black/maple '74 RI Jazz went up for sale on their website this morning. I clicked the payment link and paid. I noticed that even though I had "bought" the bass the payment link remained on the website, so someone else could also in theory buy it. I emailed BD to ask them to remove the link. Shortly afterwards Marcus emailed me back to say the bass had already sold earlier this morning in the shop and that he had refunded me. The payment link is still there on their website (on which subject Marcus said that only Mark has access to the website so he [Marcus] could not take down the ad). Wonder how many times that bass will "sell" today? Sigh

The build quality on Serek basses is immense as is their playability. Congrats

Their listings are almost uniformly terrible. Especially vintage basses where people need proper details

I contacted BassBros about this very bass and they confirmed its all-original bar an old replacement tone pot. Frets are in great shape. I did my sums but unfortunately can't stretch to it. But if anyone is interested in the bass and needs some more pics, PM me.
