Phil bought some La Bella flats from me and all was tickety-boo and all that! Thanks Phil

I was lucky enough to see them at Earls Court in 1977 on the W&W tour (of which the Paris dates provided the material for Seconds Out). Chalk and cheese with SH's band. I love Steve's unique guitar sound and its always great to see him wringing those beautiful notes out but I'm afraid I find Nad toe-curlingly bad, to the extent I just can't bring myself to see the band play live again.

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!

Rickenbacker getting in on the short scale act after a long absence, albeit it seems a one off custom jobbie -
Back in the day, the Lamb was my favourite album, followed by Selling England. The one that has really grown on me in recent years was their first 'real' (ie, not Jonathan King produced) album, Trespass. The arrangements are brilliant (even without Steve Hackett ... shows how much they owe to Anthony Phillips) and its a great taster of what's to come in the next 4 or 5 years Post Gabriel my fave is Wind and Wuthering. The first album I ever bought on its release (with my hard-earned 13 year old cash from washing up in a restaurant)

La Bella LTF set - *SOLD*

In my experience, HMRC will typically send you a letter requesting payment of import duties and sometimes a handling/release fee. Quickest is to pay online or over the phone, and then they release the item for delivery. Unfortunately it adds several days to the wait but it is what it is

I bought this to cover me while waiting for my all valve HandBox WB-100. The latter is now on its way to me from Poland so this neat UK-made ABM 500 is up for sale at the same great price I bought it for on the forum. Gator rackbag plus footswitch included. £210 plus post at cost (maybe £15-20?) Or collected SW London, south of Hammersmith Bridge Original ad here:

I followed the above advice (option 2) and it worked a treat. Many thanks to @3below!

Andy bought a Rick 4003 off me and all was fine and dandy! Nice guy and great buyer. ATB Clarky

As a dissenting voice, I think their SG Standard basses are pretty decent. I own a recently-manufactured ebony one and it plays very nicely (albeit better with Hipshot Supertone bridge) and sounds great. That Rex B does admittedly look a howler

Agreed. Usual, Amp and On all sound like they mean the same to me! Obviously in practice it will be quick and easy to work out but retaining Pop, Rock and Funk labels would have been better IMO. Similarly On (next to Standby) seems to be strangely worded as Done, at least with my dodgy eyesight. Still looking forward immensely to blasting through this amp though!

I was wondering the same thing! Any idea @wateroftyne? Thanks!

Gage Realist Copperhead. Try before Buy - *WITHDRAWN*

I bought this recently on the forum but it doesn't suit my ply bass. Now my bass is not very resonant, like most ply basses, but it doesn't have much output when I plug into an amp. What I don't know is whether there is an issue with the Realist or whether its simply unsuited to my bass. So I propose that the 'buyer' try this out first and - if it works fine - then pay me. Half new price posted, £90, if it works fine. Sound reasonable? Previous ad (and it looks the same):

If you would sacrifice 25W and a few features, my rackmount UK made ABM 500 in Gator bag will be up FS shortly (in London) at half that price. Nowt wrong with it, it was a a stopover until my all-valve Hand Box WB-100 was ready (will be in next 1-2 weeks)

The innards have been ready for some time, waiting for the boxes

Hopefully my name is on one of then (not literally obvs)

According to an (expired) ad on Reverb, this weighs 14kg (just under 31 pounds in old money): "Ashdown has worked in conjunction with Mark King create an amplifier which meets the UK bass legend’s requirements for absolute fidelity and clarity, precision tone shaping and masses of power on tap for stunning dynamics.
