  1. Reopened and price cut to £1350 plus delivery cost. Sorry, no trades
  2. Alternatively, you could get the valve-driven sound you love at acceptable home listening levels by using an attenuator such as this: https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Bugera-Power-Soak-Passive-100-Watt-Guitar-Amp-Power-Attenuator/223F?origin=product-ads&gclid=CjwKCAiAlp2fBhBPEiwA2Q10D7u0c0IBc8lAjvItdK08jewJE7cjyh0oM2aMX6xex8av9y-wQ4Ih3BoCUrAQAvD_BwE
  3. Recently acquired on the forum. Fabulously mojo'd, believed to be all-original AVRI 62 Jazz. Plays beautifully (with nicely worn in TI Jazz Flats), looks cool AF. I love everything about this bass apart from the weight. Due to a miscommunification (copyright George W Bush), it comes in at 10.18 pounds rather than the sub 9 pounds I had understood. Unfortunately my back cannot tolerate >9 pounds. Comes in generic hard case. Collection SW London, south of Hammersmith Bridge, or deliver within UK for £30. Asking what it owes me, a bargainaceous £1130. Edit: £999 plus post.
  4. Agree. There is one FS on BassChat right now for over £10k - not going to diss the guy, I wish him well with his sale, even though I last sold a Wal fretless only 4/5 years ago for £3k. Its the market
  5. I haven't heard back from Also Eden chap so assume he also drew a blank
  6. BassBros just got a 67 P bass, one owner and with unusual factory fitted Mustang tuners https://bassbros.co.uk/product/1967-fender-precision-bass/
  7. This thread got me thinking: do all you users of decent preamps, eg BassRig SVT or Fender emulators, Sansamp or Broughton SVT pedal, go through the effects return? If not then surely your bass is going through two tone stacks which adds two kinds of colour and kind of negates trying to sound like an SVT/Fender etc?
  8. I am not normally a fan of modding an original/vintage bass but your Mustang looks the bees knees @ped
  9. Andy Baxter has a 66 lightly-mojo'd Jazz thats all original bar one pickup rewound for £200 less - I know what I would rather spend my money on if I had a spare £7k+ floating around! https://www.andybaxterbass.com/collections/bass-guitars/products/1966-fender-jazz-bass-sunburst
  10. Gorgeous. Thinks to self: do I really want to go short-scale only? 🤔
  11. Mwah ha ha
  12. Another faulty listing. They have a fretless Hofner violin bass listed, which I was quite interested to read about as I have never seen one before. Link: And here is where you end up when clicking on link (specs underneath mention number of frets etc 🙄)
  13. If you take price and quality into account, I have had the most joy (as far as roundwounds are concerned) with DR Sunbeams and DR Pure Blues. Round rather than hexagonal core wire, which makes them more pliable, and being nickel are IMHO much easier on the fingers than stainless steel. For a 34" long scale bass, try the 40-100 gauge (similar tension to TI Jazz Flats)
  14. Lovely, I recently picked up a satin black 2009 SG bass as a stand-in while my custom Serek shortie is being made (a year wait) and I MUCH prefer it to the several gloss nitro finished SG basses I had previously cycled through (loved the looks, didn't like the fat glossy neck). In particular, the satin nitro neck finish feels worn in and hugely more comfortable than the more upmarket version and - dare I say - quite similar to my existing Serek Midwestern. Great score, grayn!
  15. If it helps, every 1964 Custom Shop relic I googled - including from those made around the same period - had a quarter sawn neck. See here: https://www.google.com/search?q=1964+fender+jazz+bass+relic+quartersawn&ei=wkfVY8LGLobzgQaL27bQDA&ved=0ahUKEwjCr-6x0ur8AhWGecAKHYutDcoQ4dUDCA8&uact=5&oq=1964+fender+jazz+bass+relic+quartersawn&gs_lcp=Cgxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAQAzIFCAAQogQyBQgAEKIEMgUIABCiBDoKCAAQRxDWBBCwAzoGCAAQFhAeOgUIABCGAzoFCCEQoAE6BAghEBU6BwghEKABEApKBAhBGABKBAhGGABQhwdY1RZguxpoAXABeACAAZABiAHcCJIBAzcuNZgBAKABAcgBBcABAQ&sclient=gws-wiz-serp
  16. A member of Also Eden returned my email. He had not heard from Rob but said he would try and contact him and Rob's brother, who he also knows. Fingers crossed (again) for good news
  17. His prog band were called Also Eden - I have dropped them a speculative email
  18. Me again. Duncan bought a nice GK combo off me and arranged pickup via a London-based friend of his. Seamless and friendly as ever. Cheers!

I bought Dominic's Wizzy cab and all was grand! Many thanks 😊
  20. Indeed. Mine (blatant showing off):
  21. I PM'd through this forum but it hasn't been picked up and I do not expect a reply. I hope your text elicits a response that brings us all cheer @Mike 🤞
  22. Graham bought a Trace Elf amp from me. Flawless deal with quick payment and friendly comms! Enjoy 😀
  23. PS, the same question has been asked on TalkBass where he hasn't posted since July last year and his avatar picture has vanished
  24. I recall that Rob/Bilbo had a heart issue some years back which resulted in surgery and stents. Hopefully, however, he is alive and kicking and simply taking time out from social media 🤞
