  1. Lest you think this is mainly for acoustic instruments, it also does SVT, fat tube emulation etc as well as a ton of other applications
  2. 48-hour UK delivery now included in £850 price
  3. I believe the CIJ models (and now the MIM models) only ever came as stock with white scratchplates. The US made Geddy model had a pearloid plate. None had black as standard but its very common to see Geddy models with an aftermarket black scratchplate. Mine came from eBay and was advertised alongside a Geddy template so it fits very neatly with the existing screwholes.
  4. Here is the original white 3 ply scratchplate, which will come with the bass.
  5. I bought these for a 2+2 shortie but discovered within an hour they didn't suit the bass (or more correctly, me). So I promptly removed them. I trimmed the E string slightly, but the others are untrimmed. The silks (which can easily fray with TI flats) are virtually as new, as can be seen from photo. Cost me £51, asking £36 posted for essentially as-new strings (bar aforementioned trimming of E). PS, mistyped price in box. £36 inc.postage not £35
  6. Bought a couple of months back from BC stalwart Lozz196. Very good condition. Comes with (slightly battered) tin. Selling as I have decided I want to have more than one tone on tap and have therefore acquired a 3-channel Programmable Sansamp Driver DI. After same as I paid. £150 posted UK. Cheers
  7. The Fender case:
  8. 2007 CIJ Geddy. Comes with Fender hard case. Vgc (8.5 or 9/10 I would say: a couple of slight surface dimples and tiny/minor edge scratches [from stand, I guess]). I added an after-market black scratchplate but also comes with original white 3 ply s/p. Absolutely wonderful, skinny and super-fast neck and only selling as the weight is just a bit over my comfort zone (4.45kg, 9.8 pounds). £825 collected or £850 delivered in UK. OVNO. I appreciate this is a little higher than the most recent sales but its in great condition, as stated above, and comes with Fender hard case. Edit: * No trades *
  9. Dissenting voice: black looks ready to rock/funk. Gets my vote Pearl is a bit pop or C&W (both of them)
  10. Beautiful indeed. Cocobolo and ebony was to emulate my favourite Alembic combination but at a fraction of the price and half the weight of an Alembic! Super slick player, nearly made me sound competent 😀 GLWYS Frank VID-20180624-WA0140.mp4
  11. Says 9 pounds in OP
  12. Even if its the room, an HPF would be a good long term investment. While its difficult to get hold of an fdeck (the US manufacturer won't ship overseas), there is an fdeck clone made by Rafferty in the UK which sells for £90 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125014998206
  13. Thank you! I was told this emphatically by our guitarist who has been gigging for 40 years (mind he uses all valve amps, which may be different?) and I found a TalkBass thread saying the same. Anyhow, good to hear! Thank you 😊
  14. Can the Elf be used as a straight DI box with no speaker attached? I had assumed so but then learned my Ashdown ABM 500 (now sold) would fry if used as a DI without speaker attached due to overloading. An internet search suggests the Elf can safely be used in this way but I thought I'd check the wisdom of the BC massive, especially as I can't see why one rule would apply to one amp but not another
  15. Also the US dollar has appreciated massively vs £ since 2008. $1600 might have translated to £850 back then but today its worth about £1300.
  16. Phil bought some La Bella flats from me and all was tickety-boo and all that! Thanks Phil
  17. I was lucky enough to see them at Earls Court in 1977 on the W&W tour (of which the Paris dates provided the material for Seconds Out). Chalk and cheese with SH's band. I love Steve's unique guitar sound and its always great to see him wringing those beautiful notes out but I'm afraid I find Nad toe-curlingly bad, to the extent I just can't bring myself to see the band play live again.
  18. Rickenbacker getting in on the short scale act after a long absence, albeit it seems a one off custom jobbie
  19. £40 posted for bith sets of strings (together c. £80-85 new). Can't say fairer than that?
  20. Back in the day, the Lamb was my favourite album, followed by Selling England. The one that has really grown on me in recent years was their first 'real' (ie, not Jonathan King produced) album, Trespass. The arrangements are brilliant (even without Steve Hackett ... shows how much they owe to Anthony Phillips) and its a great taster of what's to come in the next 4 or 5 years Post Gabriel my fave is Wind and Wuthering. The first album I ever bought on its release (with my hard-earned 13 year old cash from washing up in a restaurant)
  21. In my experience, HMRC will typically send you a letter requesting payment of import duties and sometimes a handling/release fee. Quickest is to pay online or over the phone, and then they release the item for delivery. Unfortunately it adds several days to the wait but it is what it is
  22. I bought this to cover me while waiting for my all valve HandBox WB-100. The latter is now on its way to me from Poland so this neat UK-made ABM 500 is up for sale at the same great price I bought it for on the forum. Gator rackbag plus footswitch included. £210 plus post at cost (maybe £15-20?) Or collected SW London, south of Hammersmith Bridge Original ad here:
  23. EAD lightly used and trimmed to fit Rick 4003 but also work with top-loaded Fender 4 in line headstock. G brand new (replacement from La Bella for overzealously trimmed G). £30 posted UK Sausage dog not included
