1. As a confirmed bass shape 'traditionalist' I have to say that is strangely alluring! Good luck with the sale and have a bump to the top on me

Cracking gig. Nearly Dan are a truly excellent bunch of musicians - the bass player ain't bad! Nice to meet you Pete and that was a first for me - posing as Nigel silddx's boyfriend/+1 to get on the guest list Sorry I couldn't hang around for a chat afterwards but I've just got in and my alarm goes off in just over 5 hours time
3. As so many people sell Fenders and Squiers on BassChat, I thought it might be useful to flag up the Fender Serial Dater Project - a website which allows you to date your instrument based purely on its serial number and country of origin (so need to pull off the neck unless you need a very precise date). Hope this helps! http://www.guitardaterproject.org/fender.aspx
4. Hi there, as this is a high end bass and you are a new member it would be a good idea if you were to tell people where you and the bass are located, a bit about the history of the bass and any issues with it, and - this one is up to you - approximately what trade value you place on it.
5. This guy was selling a Warwick Triumph - do they have the exact same dimensions as the Framus (of which I understand its a replica/copy) in which case you could drop him a PM? 6. bump. Anyone want a nice Veillette?
7. Best looking 5-stringer on BassChat IMHO!
8. Don't forget your strap and lead
9. Thanks Alan. Saturday bump
10.
Just rang him. He says he's more a structural person but has recommended Marc Butterlin to people who've had the same problem.
Update: this chap says he does not do DB's, only violins/cellos, so have dropped a message to Malcolm Healey. Thanks again for the tips, gents
See you in the same pub beforehand, Nige.
In case I make it (looking good right now) which pub is that?
12.
Has it gone yet? *peeks around door* Oh, FFS.. it's still here. Be gone, temptress!
Well hello big boy
13.
Guess maybe I thought the appeal of doing a show at that venue for a good sized audience was more appealling than it seems from an outside perspective.
Its MASSIVELY appealing but my band could not pull in 200-300 punters sadly ... and I suspect therein lies the rub for most of us Best of luck with this
14. WD are good. Just give them a call to check which pattern the HW1 needs: http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/category/Pickguar...r_Basses,b.html

16.
Thats nice. Be even better if it was black
What, like this one? Shameless link to my AV62RI P/J
17. Haven't you eaten a blue apple before I assume its either Lake Placid Blue or another custom blue (I think there's a Peacock Blue colour)
18.
Hang on, Clarky, what about the cat? I want to know what state the cat's in ...
I am speculating here as there is no obvious reason for it to have fallen over! The cat* is lying six feet away from my computer, snoozing on the sofa looking happy as a cat that is snoozing on a sofa * name of Snoop Catt
19. It is a bit pretty for sure. I think a certain personoftyne may like this one! Shudder to think what Fender will charge for it, mind. Edit: MRSP is $4200, which is about £2600-2700.
20.
Also there's Maclolm Healey in Sutton: http://www.healeyviolins.co.uk/ He makes double Basses onsite, so knows what he's doing.
Thanks J-L. I have already sent a message to the guy LEB mentioned, who is very local to me, but if he cannot do the work I will contact Malcolm Healey.
21. Brilliant, Ad. Much appreciated. Will get in contact with him.
22. Have a bump on me for a beautiful bass. Had I not just bought lozbass' Alembic, I would have been PM'ing you
23.
If they're not set up specific repairs I know a master carpenter who might be just the ticket.
Hey Ad, yeah this is more carpentry, French polishing territory than set-up work
24. Let me start by saying AAAAAARARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH My new Eminence EUB was sat happily on its stand in my sitting room but for reasons I am not clear about (cat ran into it perhaps?) it toppled over on to my wooden floor. The damage thankfully is not major and amounts to some splitting/fracturing of the lacquer on about an inch-and-a-half of the front player-side laminated wooden edge and a couple of small dints on the headstock. I would like to get these patched up or - if possible - fully repaired. So does anyone know of a luthier in the London/Surrey who might be capable of this type of work?
25. Just tweaked the truss rod (got rid of a minor buzzing issue at 16th fret on A/D strings) and replaced the EB Super Slinky rounds with TI Flats, which suit the retro nature of the bass much better IMHO. Plays really nicely with medium or medium/low action of 3mm at the 12 th fret. If you want the action really low, it will probably need a pro setup. Any interest folks?
