Bump for no replies, thought there'd be more interest in a Ltd Ed Fender.
Looks lovely but some better pics would definitely help as - even when they they re-size - they are very small on my PC. I was looking for a fretless Precision a few weeks back, wish this had come up then. Have since bought a fretless Jazz so I'm no longer in the market

According to your profile, Geofio, you have been a member for two and a half years. In all that time you have posted 21 times, all about selling items. Not exactly an active, contributing and valued member of BassChat are you? So stop your whingeing and price your bass right and it might sell. PS, Tim

I have a CIJ 62RI Jazz fretless and a 2009 MIA Jazz and the necks are chalk and cheese. The 2009 Jazz has a near-Precision type neck in terms of being a decent fistful. The 62RI is thin/ultra-skinny and to be honest I am struggling a little with it (as I did with a Highway One Jazz I once owned). Like the man above said, Jazz necks really do vary a lot between models/eras.

Aria SWB-1 Lite for sale (Mark 1 piezo pickup version)
Hi, very interested in the bass. I want to buy it. First option would be to exchange it for a Fender Presicion American deluxe usa year 99' in mint condition plus a hard case. This is about £1300 new. If you would like to have it, we could exchange and only for £200 difference is yours. The other option is I give you £470 but with both set of strings.. I live in London, near paddington station. Tell me if would be possible to meet up and do business. Thanks. Nacho Sagues.
PM'd -
Please note I have added a trade option to this thread - I would consider a part-ex (cash your way) for an American 62RI Jazz in black or sunburst, don't care if a bit mojo'd The following post was made by the former owner of my EUB (Beedster) on my FS thread in the DB/EUB section: "This was the instrument that got me into playing Double Bass, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to do the same. It's quite 'discrete' physically, so I was able to smuggle it into our rehearsal room, and whip it out for a track I'd rehearsed a great DB-like part to, to be faced by a bunch of guys who'd normally never have considered an upright in the band saying 'wow, we didn't see that coming'. We haven't looked back since and I haven't really picked up either of my Precisions in 4 months! I've owned four EUBs, and they fall into three categories; the Stagg and the Dean were nothing like a double bass to play or to hear, and to my ear sounded like a fairly cheap fretless (I don't mean to offend anyone who owns one, just my opinion, sound is as much the player as the instrument let's face it), my current EUB, a Yamaha SLB-100 is a monster, both to lift and and to play, so in that respect, it's like a DB and I love it for that reason (and they're almost £3000 new as well). However, part of the point of an EUB I guess is that it's easy to move, and in this respect, the Yamaha fails and the Aria represent the best balance of good tone, DB feel and transportability overall. Whilst it's the older model without the magnetic neck PUP, most of the guys I know who've played both say that there is little difference between the two sound-wise (which is why I bought it in the first place and why I never upgraded it), and furthermore, the neck PUP, being magnetic, will only work with certain strings anyway. At £500, this instrument is a quality portable DB-alike (slings over your shoulder like a fishing rod), a great upgrade from a Stagg or Dean, or a quality first step into DB. And it goes without saying that Clarky is an absolute gent to deal with, although let's face it, most of you know that already"

That a real looker BB, exceptionally good job (unlike other poster, I prefer this to the maple necked one). How many Ps do you now have?!

Aria SWB-1 Lite for sale (Mark 1 piezo pickup version)
Clarky replied to Clarky's topic in EUB and Double Bass
Bump, would cut price to £450 if I swapped strings for some old (but perfectly functional) Thomastik Superflexibles (which are £97/set new, so decent strings) -

Blimey, better bass player than I will ever be and a great singer/songwriter too. Had to google: Janice-Marie Johnson. We salute you! -
Does adjustable bridge change sound of wing slot p/u?
Clarky replied to fatback's topic in EUB and Double Bass
I have a different pickup but still a wing-sited piezo one (Shadow 950) and an adjustable bridge. I have not noticed any sound issues with this combination. I play through a Fishman Platinum Pro EQ and a MarkBass combo. -
At last, a genuinely rare & vintage bass
If anyone's interested in getting an Ampeg Scroll Bass. I'd recommend getting in touch with the Bass Gallery and asking if the Bruce Johnson AUB-2 is still available.
It was there when I last went in (a couple of weeks ago). Its very nice but pricey for a replica, even if hand made -

I bought this recently from Beedster but have decided to go with a posher, acoustic EUB (an Eminence). Its in pretty good condition overall (the only minor niggle is the removable side bout can work its way loose but I imagine its an easy fix, I've just been too lazy to do so) and I have upgraded it with the addition of super-nice, low tension Presto nylonwound (synthetic gut) strings - these cost £100-odd new (http://presto-strings.com/doublebass.html). Comes with decent gig-bag. I am after £500. Please note there is another Aria EUB for sale on the forum (from mykesbass) but that is the newer SWB Lite model with the extra magnetic pickup, hence that bass' higher price. Finally, this is currently on loan to another BCer (who wanted to try out an EUB) but I should get it back in time for the BassBash (27th) and I can bring it along to that for handover if it suits a prospective buyer. Looks just like this: And here is the Aria specs page: http://www.ariaguitars.com/int/03_products...wb_liteone.html

Just sold Donald my 51 P bass. Lovely chap and another in the list of BCers I would happily recommend to do biz with! Hope you enjoy the bass Donny

Anyone selling a Kolstein travel bass or Eminence?
Clarky replied to Clarky's topic in EUB and Double Bass
Thx GB. I have ordered the removable neck Eminence 4. To be honest, I don't actually expect to remove the neck all that often but there is a possibility that my new band will have weekend gigs on the Continent (and in Scotland!) which will require flying - on the strength of the MySpace stuff, we have been offered a 4-date tour of Portugal, which we have had to decline (too many of us have day jobs, me included) but we may do Saturday gigs abroad, depending on money etc. So for an extra £200-odd I thought I may as well have the opportunity to make this as portable and user-friendly as possible. After all, if I am only travelling locally I can always use my full-size DB. Now I need someone to buy my Aria SWB! -
Hey Clarky - If it's at all possible and makes things easier - you're welcome to come over and try my Eminence out to see how good they really can play. If you can make it to Belfast City Airport, there's a studio about 15 minutes drive away that I could have for an afternoon and bring down my Markbass/Epifani/Genz Benz gear for you to try everything through. Scrumptous food for thought.
Thats very kind Gareth but I have spent hours now watching Youtube clips and doing more research and am pretty sure that it will be right for me (likewise the more expensive but much rarer Kolstein, which I think I will have to disregard). This is a real last minute call as I am going to make a decision this afternoon! I will probably order a new one from SMART as the one in the Gallery just isn't that much cheaper to entice me - plus I can get Gary Bartig to check over my one to my satisfactin before it flies over.
