1. Didn't take long. eBay listing removed despite no headstock shots
2. Here's a young Spanish bassist who is clearly hugely influenced by Carles. Nice playing I think: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oB8Ffzpv1U&feature=channel&list=UL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oHl1C054I8&feature=channel&list=UL
3. Hopefully I can get along but not certain yet, Nige, due to "family responsibilities"
4.
Gherson: http://www.ebay.co.u...=item1e6e5c871c
That be mine! I've removed the word 'copy' in the title and replaced with 'homage' to increase my slim chances of this running to the end of the auction without it bing pulled. It is of course also available to BC'ers and I would frankly rather keep it within the forum
5. Now on eBay ... until our US friend spots it http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130700576540#ht_500wt_1387
6. Weight on digital scales 9.1 pounds I don't like losing money on a bass (although it happens virtually every time) but I want to raise some dosh so how does £565 posted or £550 collected sound
7. I believe I played this while having a lesson from Paul and can confirm it is extremely high on the cool stakes!
8. Thanks gents, I feel better after your comments I will hopefully drop off bass at end of this week and get an as-good-as or even-better bass back
9. Near offers? Looks/sounds great with medium action and a good weight (c9 pounds I guess)
10. I did a video shoot for my band All the Queens Ravens yesterday and the 1880s German flatback I recent acquired got its first outing. We did the shoot in a vintage clothing shop (very Bohemian) which had huge but narrow metal security doors. All went well until I left the shop and accidentally smacked the bass (in its padded bag) against the edge of the metal door. Consequence is the lower front bout (near the endpin) now has two long cracks and an area that is lifting up (and buzzes when you play, so bass is unusable). So now I have two 2-hour round trips to Malcolm Healey's shop in Surrey in prospect plus the cost of repair. No purpose behind this post other than to let off steam. Aaaaarrrggghhhh! And on the bass' very first outing too ....
11. I recently posted a thread on how a continental BC'er wanted to buy a bass of mine. I grudgingly agreed to take it apart to show date stamps etc (which I am very unhappy about doing as I am no luthier), sent photos etc only for the guy - at the last minute - to check the Euro/sterling exchange rate and say "isn't it high, it wasn't this high when I last looked a few months ago, can't afford your bass" (or words to that effect). Was mightily p*ssed off, having spent an hour or two disaasembling, photographing and re-assembling bass with the risk that the bits didn't fit together perfectly afterwards. At no point, it appears, could he afford my bass yet he led me a merry dance

13. What a beautiful instrument - I know Jerzy Drozd works in Barcelona but it looks to have a slight Gaudi influence to it, which is good Lovely sounds too

16. Just checking that its not the number of strings that stops you playing this? Reason being I have a Thumb 4 NT I want to trade for a THumb 5 NT.
17. Done Kirky! If anyone wants some mutual backscratching, please put your FB link on your post (eg, gunsfreddy I can't find your page)
18.
Ah, that would help: www.facebook.com/sogreenband Cheers
.. and done !
19. Many thanks all and liked Blaze too, Evil Undead!
20.
Done, now go like this page of my solo project, I need to get back up to 29 again... http://www.facebook....130695623651842
done Plastic Squirrel!
21.
I'm surprised no one has said Pino Palladino yet!
They did (post 11)
22.
If you have to go to the Post Office to return this parcel it will be going by Parcel Force? It should be possible to get them to collect from your address - they offer that service on their website.
I was specifically told it had to go to a Post Office and be signed for behind the counter with a form they emailed me. Can't remember whether it was ParcelForce or not for certain but the forms were not like those I have used in the past with PF
23.
I did request a courier pick up, but was just emailed the form. Never mind, it's already on it's way back to them. Just seems a pain in the arse that you should be expected to lug a speaker cabinet to the nearest post office. Don't know what I would have done if I'd had to return the head aswell. Don't like the idea of asking somebody to watch parcel A while I pop back to the car for parcel B. Guess I'm learning my Thomann lesson the hard way
This is exactly what happened with me with the faulty Markbass combo. I also was not too chuffed to have to drive to a Post Office, lugging it along (pretty heavy when boxed up), and then queue for 20 minutes behind 27 grannies and grandads getting their weekly savings cash out .....
24.
Go On. Make sure you recipricate
OK, I've liked everyone else's band page (and Letts Guitars) on this thread apart from yours JayPH as I can't locate your band site - what is it? Got a link?
